I asked my mom to buy it for me and amazingly she agreed to buy it. I spent hours playing the same day. I remember that the next day I woke up turning on the Computer to start another route... It was a hobby of mine for 3 years straight, until I forgot about this game. Today, when I opened TH-cam I came across this video in my recommended and decided to click. The fandom had flaws. Like, a lot of flaws. But man, this game was something else. It had great storytelling, it had great music, it had great characters that you could relate and attach yourself to. Undertale has heart. And that's why I can still replay it again almost 6 years later.

I first played undertale in November, 2020. I always liked that game, but I couldn't play it because I didn't have a computer. So, I joined this fandom pretty late :).
I learned about it around when deltarune came out, so the fandom was decently fresh and I got to experience back to back, but I still feel like the best time to experience to fandom and game was when it first came out :/

i remember playing this game for the first time; I felt so safe with toriel, i genuinely laughed at sans at papyrus' jokes, i was scared of undyne at first but laughed at her jokes when i got to know her, i felt sorry for alphys, i was amazed by metaton. by the end of the game i felt like i really got to know the characters and going into azgore's castle to fight him i felt like i was ready. i really felt like ive grown so much throughout the game. i felt like i was frisk. and when i got to the end of the true ending, i found myself crying. i remember not knowing if i was sad or happy, but i was crying. say what you want about undertale, call sans a meme, whatever. its one of the best games ever made. i wish i could experience playing it for the first time again. Fall. 2016. You come home from a long day of school to play Undertale. You were so excited and desperate to get on your console and make new friends. You loved playing Undertale, you loved the community and you loved the warm feeling you'd get from the joy. - . . I can't believe Undertale is going to be 6 years old this year.

-While cleaning for attic you see an old box, Open it? -*Yes* -No -You open the rustic box to find an arrangement of items. You reach for one at a time. -The first item you grabbed was a ripped page of a cook book, it displayed a pie with the words “Butterscotch and cinnamon” at the top. -Attached to the cook book page with a paper clip were an array of index cards, they all had similar skeleton jokes written in a small messy manner. -Sitting under those two items was a long red scarf, it’s many holes allowed you to see through to the wooden bottom of the box. The scarf’s ends were burnt with a black crust. -Tucked away the corner of the breaking box was a small paper packet. You looked inside the packet to find many small seeds, you turned around the package and it read “Daisy’s” -While rummaging through the box the small broken head of an old spear fell down and hit your hand. As you picked it up it felt slightly sticky, you turned it around and saw a small blotch of glue still wet. The spear head started to crumble in your hand so you put it down and went for the next items -After placing down the spear head your hand wandered to a pair of cracked glasses. You picked them up and traced your hand along the rim, your finger now covered in dust you put the glasses on your head and continued with a slight smile. -As you picked up the slightly heavy microphone, you had the urge to sing into it. But there was no point, it was already broken beyond repair. -While looking through the other items a small glimmer caught your eye. When you found the object it was a large cracked crown. Vines of delicate yellow flowers enveloped it’s once beautiful shining surface. -Wrapped in one of the vines you see a small golden chain. Take it out? -*Yes* -No -You took out the chain from the vines and gently placed the crown on the floor. The chain was intertwined with another chain exactly alike it. At the end of each chain were golden heart lockets. -As you opened one of the lockets up all your memories came flooding back to you. -Before your mind could process what was going on you felt as your eyes became watery and your vision was blurred. The tears came streaming down your face as you stood up, putting on the necklaces. -You wrapped the scarf around your neck and placed the crown upon your head as you looked out the window to the mountain beside your house. -You could only spit out a few words but when you did, they made you cry even more -*”I’m...I’m coming home mom...”* OML I hope you all enjoyed this it took a whole day to write and I love it-

The best part about Undertale is that it makes you FEEL the emotions Frisk felt as if you are experiencing the events yourself even though it's just an 8 bit indie game and that is just amazing.
This video makes me wish that I could blindly experience Undertale for the first time again Undertale is legitimately a once in a life time experience that not even DeltaRune will be able to capture the magic of.... which is fine, that game will be its own thing entirely, with its own magic and charm

this game saved my life. i mean that. there were days when i was 13 years old, frail and bony and sickly, lying on the floor of my bedroom and not seeing any reason why i should go on. i remember sitting out in a hammock in my front yard with my cat and just thinking about this game and its wonderful characters made me feel... happy. they were my family. they were my friends. there were times where i felt nothing in the real world mattered, and i would have given anything and everything to be with these characters. i drew them everyday. i mean EVERY day, i literally have 10+ sketchbooks full of doodles and silly drawings of these guys. i even went by frisk when i was struggling with my identity and didn’t know who i really was or who i wanted to be. thank you. thank you so, so much. i’m alive. stay determined.

As usual Ranboo fans come here because the dude played it, but I honestly love this song. Toriel is a very tragic character and this nostalgia just fits it. Toriel had her peak before Undertale's events, and she probably is nostalgia in a nutshell. The song is like love and loss, yin and yang, death and life. This is an amazing song and the creator should be proud.

I’ve never played undertale before, but know the whole game inside out, and I’m exactly the same. Why leave Toriel when it’s such a nice home and she cares for you so well? I would just want to stay there forever ,even though there’s a future ahead of me.
a small amount of time after it came out i watched a playthrough and though some of the magic was lost because he reacted for me and i actually honestly just was that interested because of the 8 bit style, but then after watching the entire thing i discovered my favorite part of this game... the community. this giant multiverse that links together somehow whithout anyone stating it had to everyone was so like minded that it just happened and not to mention the pure amount of ideas underfell, underswap, swapfell, fellswap, storyshift, swapshift, fellshift. you will never hear or see me say i wasn't interested in undertale at first because im ashamed it took me time to see it for what it was, i have 750 hours (pushing for 1,000) in the game i own it on every major console (except Xbox i have to save up) i bought the locket, i bought the vinels (records), heck i even bought a ps4 just to play it... no joke btw legit, i legitimately bought a ps4 for a 4 hour game i love the game, the music, the story, but more than anything i love the community it has created and even though i lost that first playthrough seeing someone react to it and genuinely enjoy it was amazing. also hahahaha funny sans meme: da-da-da-da

Eh, as a fan of both I don’t see it that way. Ranboo actually played Undertale on stream! I watched the whole play through and saw people who had previously hated undertale because of the fandom gaining some understanding of the game and why it’s actually good, and even bringing in new people. I see it as a new beginning, Falling Down was the beginning of the journey and now it’s the beginning of some new faces in the undertale community.

I remember watching Jacksepticeye play this game, because I didn't have a PC, and honestly, it was the best time of my life, loving every second, Jacks funny impressions of funny characters, the cool story, I was in awe back then, and still am, and I will always be, I love this game, I will always have a place in my heart for it, and I will NEVER forget the day I found it Hearing this honestly makes me wanna cry, I'm overwhelmed by dread, calm, sadness, and content (Tw: Death/Gore just in case anyone is sensitive) It's like getting stabbed to death, and just lying there on the floor, bleeding out You know you're gonna die You know you're not gonna see another day But you're content, you're calm, you're ok with it You can't fight it, even if you want to, so you just lay there, thinking about everything you could have been, everything you could have done differently, but you can't change it now You just have to lie there in pain until you're time is out That's what this song makes me feel like, content, but scared, and sad, I don't know what's gonna happen, but I can't stop it All I have to do is wait until my time is out
I didn't play the game myself, i watched a series of it and found a lot of interest. Even though i spoiled the game when i tried it for myself it gave me a feeling that i will never be able to feel again. Truly amazing how a game can worm your heart no matter how much you play it.
Imagine 10 years from now, you replay the game. Then you reach the part where it says in the mirror, "Despite everything, it's still you." Hearing those words, you begin to cry. Because more so than before, that line just hits you like a truck. Memories of your first playthrough of the game suddenly plays in your mind. You begin to recall the days when you would come home from school -- dead tired and fatigued. You would marvel at the times when you would go to TH-cam and watch compilations of Undertale memes and comic dubs. You close your eyes... Suddenly, you miss the warmth of Toriel's homemade butterscotch pie. And for the first time, you laugh at Sans' unfunny jokes. You remember Papyrus, and the funny things he did to try and catch you. You remember the first time you arrived to Snowdin; a town which felt more home-ish than the one you're in. You notice the wolf who throws the ice cubes to the river, and recall the times when Undyne made you tremble helplessly in fear. You smile at Alphys' relatable personality, and you admire Mettatton's love for the whole underground and humanity, a race that he's never even met. You remember all the times you got killed by Muffet, then awe at the wonderful performance by Mettatton. Then, you reach the castle. It was at this phase of the game when you felt all the despairs of King Asgore. You remember frowning at the story of his children, and the times you cried endlessly when you tried to "save" one of them. Finally, you reminisce the serenading feeling of having freed the entire underground. It felt like the friends you've made in the game were people you personally knew, and you know better than anyone that the moment you first witnessed that ending... you didn't want them to be over, yet you cried. You cried, and cried, all because you were so happy for them. You cried, because you know the happiness you're feeling is temporary. Years later, you feel them all again. You proceed to smile, tears dripping off your chin. Your children walks in to your room, telling you that dinner's ready, and for one final time, you glance affectionately at the words written on your screen... *"Despite everything, it's still you."*
How does this only have 27 likes?! I played Undertale the first time a couple of months ago and it was an experience worth living through. It won't leave my life in a while.
I remember when I was about 7-8 I was obsessed with Undertale. I dressed up as Sans for Halloween, and my little sister wanted to be the human. I played it every night, and I eventually beat it. I also went on my computer to see if anyone made any new Megalovania AU things at least every morning. It was rough getting through some tough times, but the characters are actually really relatable. I always remember having my Undertale plushies and my sans hoodie whenever I went to a sleepover. The kids at school called me “Undertale Kid”. I was actually okay with it. I love Undertale and it makes me want to cry that nobody plays it anymore. Thank you Toby Fox for being the best game developer.
When Undertale came on gamepass, I started playing it with my sister. We don't get much time to do it, but we're just about to beat Mettaton. If it helps, someone younger than us is going to remember.

March 24th, 2021. You get home from a long day of school. You're a freshman in high school wishing you were already dead from the pure sheer dread of every week. Seven assignments every day. Stacking everyday as you try to keep up. You just can't keep up with your school work. On top of that, those dang popular Honors' jocks and student council preps get at you for being you. You can't look at yourself the same way you used to. You wanted to ask that one lady out. But you end up seeing her with her boyfriend and you forget about it. Being sad, you walk slowly to your room and wishing you weren't here at this point. You set your stuff down and throw yourself on your bed with a feeling of being a weird object, a thing that anybody likes to use as a punching bag, a thing that nobody has any remorse for, a thing anybody just doesn't even care about. Then, you and your buddies would just go back to your friend's house to munch on pizza and cake, and huddle together for a little mini Smash tournament and then see who can't laugh first at one of those silly Vine compilations. Ah, man... Those were the days. You and the boys... A day and night to remember as a staple of your childhood filled with true joy. And luckily you still have those types of nights. But now, in a room by yourself, with a controller in your hand, headset on your head, and a party chat on your Xbox just to mess around in Minecraft, play a game everyone hates but loves at the same time, and talk about what you and your boys were going to do tomorrow, what problems you may or what your boys have, and those cute girls you'd see in your classes from time to time. But then, out of nowhere, you slowly begin to realize, will this be your last time you will ever have these types of nights with your boys? The question amplifies as you think about it more and more. Just thinking about brings a tear to the eye of you. Looking into the future, after you graduate high school... No more Xbox nights with the boys... No more seeing each other and having a good time... You each own go your separate ways of life after you do your four years. Your final goodbyes... Your last time of seeing each other's faces... I have read multiple of the comments. People talking about this bring them to tears, the nostalgia, and how this game changes their life. I am no different. This game, the characters, the music, and the story, all in one little game, made with not that much money, in only two years, and by the mastermind, Toby Fox. This game has brought sadness, happiness, guilt, anger, and most of all determination. Despite if you have killed, spared or both, you can’t not admit that you loved these characters, as they felt more like real people than just pixels in a game. Words can’t express how I’ve felt when I learned about this game. At only the age of 10, I had found this game. I couldn’t play it, cause I figured my parents would say no, but luckily, TH-cam existed. I watched letsplays, comic dubs, and animation memes for about 3 whole years without stopping. I felt connected with each of these characters. Then I finally was able to buy the game. I played it every day for as long as I could before I got kicked off the computer. I knew everything about the game. All the routes, endings, and secrets, yet I still played. I wanted to get to know the characters on my own. A lone flower, with only the sadness of missing his best friend, projected by anger. A goat mom, who can only care for you the best she can. Who misses everyone who came before you. A punny skeleton, who never fails to come up with bad funny jokes, even though you could tell there was more to him. A cooler skeleton who never failed to make you laugh, and just feel better about yourself, because he knows that you are awesome. A nerdy dinosaur, who taught us not to be scared about who we love, and to just go for it no matter what. A strong fish lady, who taught us to stay strong no matter what, and care about the people around you, and just do what you love no matter what others think. A lone king, doing what he hoped would make others happy, even at the expense of the ones he cares about. Engulfed in sadness only put out by love. Someone, who was more than a flower. Someone who taught us that friends and family are important, and that no matter what, just keep believing. And someone else, who some of us blamed, a person who just wants to care and be cared about. I felt love. I felt pity. I felt guilt. I felt rage. I felt happiness. I felt sad. I felt determined. It’s just a game. I know. So why do I feel like this? Why do *we* feel like this? Despite that fact that most of us did commit genocide, the game told us, yelled at us, that we were in the wrong the entire way. It wants us to be good. *They* want us to be good. They want us to be happy. Pixels on a screen, code in a computer, whatever. They are more to us. They are our friends, our family. We care about them, and they care about us. So remember to stay determined. Remember that even if you don’t believe it, there’s someone out there who really cares about you.

Life was simple when this game came out. It was all the rage. You and your friends are talking about it, watching meme compilations of it, playing it, falling in love with the story and endings.. Now, the world is so chaotic. As you lay in bed listening to this, wishing you could go back to such a simple time.. When you were younger.. More innocent.. And games like Undertale existed.. "Take me back to this time." You wished, but it never worked.. This game was your childhood. Listening to this gives you feelings you can't express into words.. Undertale.. Was truly.. A gift.. One day you wake up, you go to your computer and go on Steam, you then find Undertale.. It's been so long since you've played it.. So you boot it back up and load your original save file, everyone perks up when they realize it's you. A tall Skeleton appears, running towards you, looking happier than ever. "HUMAN! ITS BEEN SO LONG! YOURE FINALLY BACK!" You feel your heart get warm, as everyone comes over to say hello to you again. Tell you their stories theyve experienced when you disappeared, and they all give you a big hug.. "seeing you gone *chilled me to the bone*" Sans joked, as usual. "Oh my child.. I'm so happy you're safe.." Toriel looked so happy to see you again after all of these years. Her soft voice felt like music.. Her eyes glimmer with happiness. You felt.. Happier now.. As your childhood was restored.. And you were filled with **determination**..
God it was such an experience. I was a little kid in a bad situation, but Undertale made it all worth it. Select few things make me as happy as that game did. It began my love of indie games, it brought me friends that I’d never have had otherwise, and memories I wish I could relive. I don’t talk to my online friends anymore, we lost contact a few years ago, but I think about them every day. I was so happy. Everyone talks badly about the fandom (for good reason) but those people, well, some, encouraged me as a little kid to take control of my mental health and life. Who knows where I’d be of not for this game and the soundtrack that I’d sit and listen to for hours. Godspeed, toby fox. A creative genius.
It's been years. 6 years, to be exact. The underground is empty. Now may be a good time to visit it again, just for nostalgia. It's very quiet, the previous inhabitants no longer using the old shops or homes. Dust has gathered from time, or perhaps a more malicious outcome, but you make no comment. You're not here to dwell on choices, made or unmade, after all. You're just here to remember. You sit by a nearby stream, dipping your feet in the water, humming some tunes from a long time ago. Some of them make your face burst into a grin, others make your eyes water with unshed tears. Finally, you stand up, and follow the light purple path. It's still here, the quaint little house. It used to fill you with so much determination, but now.... You're not sure what to make of how you feel. There's definitely some happiness in there, but, your heart aches none the less. You step inside the house, and are more than a bit surprised to hear a faint song emanating from somewhere in the old home. Nobody had been here in ages, so where was it coming from, you wondered. You walk towards the room the music seems to be coming from, and are brought to stand in front of the room you had slept a night in when you first fell into this strange place. You inch open the door, and see, in the middle of the room, a small tin music box. It plays a familiar tune, one that you've hummed yourself to sleep with night after night, one that you've remembered someone to. One that you've remembered Toriel to. The song is a bit off tune in some parts, and it sounds like the music box has either been used too little or too much. You're not sure how it got here, or how long it's been playing, but just hearing the song makes you start to tear up. Toriel, she used to hum it while she baked. She'd hum the sweet song when she was doing a lot of things, really; She'd hum it while sweeping, while watering the plants around the ruins, while tucking you into bed. And then you'd left the ruins, and you'd met Papyrus, and Sans, and Undyne, and Alphys, and Mettaton, and Asgore, and just thinking about them makes your previously unshed tears slide down your cheeks. You hadn't really seen any of them in a while. You still cared about them, of course, but you all had different things to do, and you hadn't gotten the chance to talk to them. It'd been 2 years since you last saw Toriel. It had felt like a short time while it was happening, but now, looking back, it seemed almost like a tunnel of time that traveled on for miles. You couldn't even see the end. You're not as determined as you used to be. Every time you glanced at the landmarks from your journey, it just filled you with a sadness, a longing for how things used to be. You want the simple times back. You want to meet a bunch of monster friends in a mountain, you want to free a wrongly imprisoned species, you want to go back to when you knew what was right and wrong. It's time to go home, now, though, and you get up from your spot on the floor. You're about to leave, when the music box creaks to a halt. Your tears spill over the edge again, and you turn around, cradling the small fragile music box in your arms, rewinding it, hoping it'll play the song once again. The first notes play once again. You let out a sigh of relief. Maybe it's time to leave, but you're going to bring this small piece of happiness with you. You may not be as determined, anymore, but your friends would be proud to see you trying, so you let a small and nostalgic smile slip onto your face, and you walk home, the sounds of Fallen Down filling your ears on the trip back.
Wow. This combined with the music made me tear up. My brother was in the room with me and I had to turn away so he would see my tears. : ) Something about this story. Something about this song. Something about Undertale. It fills me with so much emotion. Perhaps it’s because everyone experiences that at one point or another. Drifting away from your friends, I mean. Missing the good old days when you didn’t know that those would be the good old days. I’m experiencing it right now. A lot of people are experiencing it right now with quarantine and all. The fandom had flaws. Like, a lot of flaws. But man, this game was something else. It had great storytelling, it had great music, it had great characters that you could relate and attach yourself to. Undertale has heart. And that's why I can still replay it again almost 6 years later.

I first played undertale in November, 2020. I always liked that game, but I couldn't play it because I didn't have a computer. So, I joined this fandom pretty late :).
I learned about it around when deltarune came out, so the fandom was decently fresh and I got to experience back to back, but I still feel like the best time to experience to fandom and game was when it first came out :/

@@shrilleth Earth bound was my whole childhood I loved that game so much and my father would play it with me, he knew all the secrets and pointed out all the little details in the game, I would always get so sad when finishing the game for whatever reason. This gives me a calm but frightening feeling, like if I'm about to go to the afterlife.
i remember playing this game for the first time; I felt so safe with toriel, i genuinely laughed at sans at papyrus' jokes, i was scared of undyne at first but laughed at her jokes when i got to know her, i felt sorry for alphys, i was amazed by metaton. by the end of the game i felt like i really got to know the characters and going into azgore's castle to fight him i felt like i was ready. i really felt like ive grown so much throughout the game. i felt like i was frisk. and when i got to the end of the true ending, i found myself crying. i remember not knowing if i was sad or happy, but i was crying. say what you want about undertale, call sans a meme, whatever. its one of the best games ever made. i wish i could experience playing it for the first time again.

-While cleaning for attic you see an old box, Open it?
-*Yes* -No
-You open the rustic box to find an arrangement of items. You reach for one at a time.
-The first item you grabbed was a ripped page of a cook book, it displayed a pie with the words “Butterscotch and cinnamon” at the top.
-Attached to the cook book page with a paper clip were an array of index cards, they all had similar skeleton jokes written in a small messy manner.
-Sitting under those two items was a long red scarf, it’s many holes allowed you to see through to the wooden bottom of the box. The scarf’s ends were burnt with a black crust.
-Tucked away the corner of the breaking box was a small paper packet. You looked inside the packet to find many small seeds, you turned around the package and it read “Daisy’s”
-While rummaging through the box the small broken head of an old spear fell down and hit your hand. As you picked it up it felt slightly sticky, you turned it around and saw a small blotch of glue still wet. The spear head started to crumble in your hand so you put it down and went for the next items
-After placing down the spear head your hand wandered to a pair of cracked glasses. You picked them up and traced your hand along the rim, your finger now covered in dust you put the glasses on your head and continued with a slight smile.
-As you picked up the slightly heavy microphone, you had the urge to sing into it. But there was no point, it was already broken beyond repair.
-While looking through the other items a small glimmer caught your eye. When you found the object it was a large cracked crown. Vines of delicate yellow flowers enveloped it’s once beautiful shining surface.
-Wrapped in one of the vines you see a small golden chain. Take it out?
-*Yes* -No
-You took out the chain from the vines and gently placed the crown on the floor. The chain was intertwined with another chain exactly alike it. At the end of each chain were golden heart lockets.
-As you opened one of the lockets up all your memories came flooding back to you.
-Before your mind could process what was going on you felt as your eyes became watery and your vision was blurred. The tears came streaming down your face as you stood up, putting on the necklaces.
-You wrapped the scarf around your neck and placed the crown upon your head as you looked out the window to the mountain beside your house.
-You could only spit out a few words but when you did, they made you cry even more

this game saved my life.
i mean that. there were days when i was 13 years old, frail and bony and sickly, lying on the floor of my bedroom and not seeing any reason why i should go on. i remember sitting out in a hammock in my front yard with my cat and just thinking about this game and its wonderful characters made me feel... happy. they were my family. they were my friends. there were times where i felt nothing in the real world mattered, and i would have given anything and everything to be with these characters.
i drew them everyday. i mean EVERY day, i literally have 10+ sketchbooks full of doodles and silly drawings of these guys. i even went by frisk when i was struggling with my identity and didn’t know who i really was or who i wanted to be.

As usual Ranboo fans come here because the dude played it, but I honestly love this song. Toriel is a very tragic character and this nostalgia just fits it. Toriel had her peak before Undertale's events, and she probably is nostalgia in a nutshell. The song is like love and loss, yin and yang, death and life. This is an amazing song and the creator should be proud.

Please, don't make me remember, i- i didn't know how to spare her, she was the closest thing that i ever had to a feeling of being safe, despite being just a game character, she concentrates all the things i would have wanted from my mother. In my childhood my mother was always in work and if not she was yelling at me for a little mistake in the homework, and when i played undertale for the first time, i just didn't want to leave toriel, i wanted to stay there, because it was very calm and comfy there. All i would have wanted for a childhood

a small amount of time after it came out i watched a playthrough and though some of the magic was lost because he reacted for me and i actually honestly just was that interested because of the 8 bit style, but then after watching the entire thing i discovered my favorite part of this game... the community. this giant multiverse that links together somehow whithout anyone stating it had to everyone was so like minded that it just happened and not to mention the pure amount of ideas underfell, underswap, swapfell, fellswap, storyshift, swapshift, fellshift. you will never hear or see me say i wasn't interested in undertale at first because im ashamed it took me time to see it for what it was, i have 750 hours (pushing for 1,000) in the game i own it on every major console (except Xbox i have to save up) i bought the locket, i bought the vinels (records), heck i even bought a ps4 just to play it... no joke btw legit, i legitimately bought a ps4 for a 4 hour game i love the game, the music, the story, but more than anything i love the community it has created and even though i lost that first playthrough seeing someone react to it and genuinely enjoy it was amazing.

Eh, as a fan of both I don’t see it that way. Ranboo actually played Undertale on stream! I watched the whole play through and saw people who had previously hated undertale because of the fandom gaining some understanding of the game and why it’s actually good, and even bringing in new people.
I see it as a new beginning, Falling Down was the beginning of the journey and now it’s the beginning of some new faces in the undertale community.

I didn't play the game myself, i watched a series of it and found a lot of interest. Even though i spoiled the game when i tried it for myself it gave me a feeling that i will never be able to feel again. Truly amazing how a game can worm your heart no matter how much you play it.

Imagine 10 years from now, you replay the game. Then you reach the part where it says in the mirror, "Despite everything, it's still you." Hearing those words, you begin to cry. Because more so than before, that line just hits you like a truck. Memories of your first playthrough of the game suddenly plays in your mind. You begin to recall the days when you would come home from school -- dead tired and fatigued. You would marvel at the times when you would go to TH-cam and watch compilations of Undertale memes and comic dubs. You close your eyes...
Suddenly, you miss the warmth of Toriel's homemade butterscotch pie. And for the first time, you laugh at Sans' unfunny jokes. You remember Papyrus, and the funny things he did to try and catch you. You remember the first time you arrived to Snowdin; a town which felt more home-ish than the one you're in. You notice the wolf who throws the ice cubes to the river, and recall the times when Undyne made you tremble helplessly in fear. You smile at Alphys' relatable personality, and you admire Mettatton's love for the whole underground and humanity, a race that he's never even met. You remember all the times you got killed by Muffet, then awe at the wonderful performance by Mettatton. Then, you reach the castle. It was at this phase of the game when you felt all the despairs of King Asgore. You remember frowning at the story of his children, and the times you cried endlessly when you tried to "save" one of them.
Finally, you reminisce the serenading feeling of having freed the entire underground. It felt like the friends you've made in the game were people you personally knew, and you know better than anyone that the moment you first witnessed that ending... you didn't want them to be over, yet you cried. Sometimes, I wish I was Born earlier so I could experience the games I play in their early days like Undertale, Minecraft, Fortnite, Team Fortress 2
I remember when I was about 7-8 I was obsessed with Undertale. I dressed up as Sans for Halloween, and my little sister wanted to be the human. I played it every night, and I eventually beat it. I also went on my computer to see if anyone made any new Megalovania AU things at least every morning. It was rough getting through some tough times, but the characters are actually really relatable. I always remember having my Undertale plushies and my sans hoodie whenever I went to a sleepover. The kids at school called me “Undertale Kid”. I was actually okay with it. I love Undertale and it makes me want to cry that nobody plays it anymore. Thank you Toby Fox for being the best game developer.

When Undertale came on gamepass, I started playing it with my sister. We don't get much time to do it, but we're just about to beat Mettaton. If it helps, someone younger than us is going to remember.
undertale is good but the genocide route is just trash though storywise and doesnt even compare to the weird route!
I've been struggling with depression for the last 6 years and it's been a tough battle. I discovered undertale a couple of years ago now and the music is one of the only things that brings me true emotion anymore. Thank you, Toby fox and everyone who creates covers like this.

You get home from a long day of school. You're a freshman in high school wishing you were already dead from the pure sheer dread of every week. Seven assignments every day. Stacking everyday as you try to keep up. You just can't keep up with your school work. On top of that, those dang popular Honors' jocks and student council preps get at you for being you. You can't look at yourself the same way you used to. You wanted to ask that one lady out. But you end up seeing her with her boyfriend and you forget about it.
Being sad, you walk slowly to your room and wishing you weren't here at this point. You set your stuff down and throw yourself on your bed with a feeling of being a weird object, a thing that anybody likes to use as a punching bag, a thing that nobody has any remorse for, a thing anybody just doesn't even care about.
You decide to hop on Discord for a little while, but nobody isn't even on.
You check your Snap...
Nothing is there nor new and it doesn't look like anybody wants to talk.

A familiar song begins to play...
You immediately have a flashback to that one day. A specific day that had a lot of meaning to you.
As the day began to roll as a very vivid image in your head, it begins to feel eerily surreal.
The weather was hot. The atmosphere was a pleasant orange to the sky that surrounded you. You hear the splashing of water and somebody playing a fighting game you used to like and play as an elementary school boy. It all begins to be very clear of what that moving image is your head was making.
The summer of 16'. A time when you had nothing to worry about. No virus. No extreme chaos. Everyone was having a great time around you. And you were at your friend's house on his birthday.
What a day that was... Nothing of a day full of water guns... Nerf wars... Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U... And going to the arcade that day... Just to win that one big prize on the wall but you'd end up getting 5 Toostie-Rolls as a big "Hey, try harder, kid." type of insult for wasting your money on dozens of tokens.
Then, you and your buddies would just go back to your friend's house to munch on pizza and cake, and huddle together for a little mini Smash tournament and then see who can't laugh first at one of those silly Vine compilations.
Ah, man...
Those were the days.
You and the boys...
A day and night to remember as a staple of your childhood filled with true joy.
And luckily you still have those types of nights. But now, in a room by yourself, with a controller in your hand, headset on your head, and a party chat on your Xbox just to mess around in Minecraft, play a game everyone hates but loves at the same time, and talk about what you and your boys were going to do tomorrow, what problems you may or what your boys have, and those cute girls you'd see in your classes from time to time. But then, out of nowhere, you slowly begin to realize, will this be your last time you will ever have these types of nights with your boys? The question amplifies as you think about it more and more.
Just thinking about brings a tear to the eye of you. Looking into the future, after you graduate high school...
No more Xbox nights with the boys...
No more seeing each other and having a good time...
You each own go your separate ways of life after you do your four years.

Adieu to all your fellow friends who were probably your brothers in arms.

I have read multiple of the comments. People talking about this bring them to tears, the nostalgia, and how this game changes their life. I am no different. This game, the characters, the music, and the story, all in one little game, made with not that much money, in only two years, and by the mastermind, Toby Fox.
This game has brought sadness, happiness, guilt, anger, and most of all determination. Despite if you have killed, spared or both, you can’t not admit that you loved these characters, as they felt more like real people than just pixels in a game. Words can’t express how I’ve felt when I learned about this game. At only the age of 10, I had found this game. I couldn’t play it, cause I figured my parents would say no, but luckily, TH-cam existed.
I watched letsplays, comic dubs, and animation memes for about 3 whole years without stopping. I felt connected with each of these characters. Then I finally was able to buy the game. I played it every day for as long as I could before I got kicked off the computer. I knew everything about the game. All the routes, endings, and secrets, yet I still played. I wanted to get to know the characters on my own.
A lone flower, with only the sadness of missing his best friend, projected by anger.
A goat mom, who can only care for you the best she can. Who misses everyone who came before you.
A punny skeleton, who never fails to come up with bad funny jokes, even though you could tell there was more to him.
A cooler skeleton who never failed to make you laugh, and just feel better about yourself, because he knows that you are awesome.
A nerdy dinosaur, who taught us not to be scared about who we love, and to just go for it no matter what.
A strong fish lady, who taught us to stay strong no matter what, and care about the people around you, and just do what you love no matter what others think.
A lone king, doing what he hoped would make others happy, even at the expense of the ones he cares about. Engulfed in sadness only put out by love.
Someone, who was more than a flower. Someone who taught us that friends and family are important, and that no matter what, just keep believing.
And someone else, who some of us blamed, a person who just wants to care and be cared about.
I felt love. I felt pity. I felt guilt. I felt rage. I felt happiness. I felt sad.
I felt determined.
It’s just a game. I know. So why do I feel like this? Why do *we* feel like this? Despite that fact that most of us did commit genocide, the game told us, yelled at us, that we were in the wrong the entire way. It wants us to be good. *They* want us to be good. They want us to be happy. Pixels on a screen, code in a computer, whatever. They are more to us. They are our friends, our family. We care about them, and they care about us.
So remember to stay determined. Remember that even if you don’t believe it, there’s someone out there who really cares about you.

I honestly hate Ranboo and the Dream SMP and just those new popular Minecraft TH-camrs. Like, I tried to watch them but I just can't get to like their content.

Ik this is all an opinion, but just the new Minecraft community is kind of annoying me.
Life was simple when this game came out. It was all the rage. You and your friends are talking about it, watching meme compilations of it, playing it, falling in love with the story and endings.. Now, the world is so chaotic. As you lay in bed listening to this, wishing you could go back to such a simple time.. When you were younger.. More innocent.. And games like Undertale existed.. "Take me back to this time." You wished, but it never worked.. This game was your childhood. Listening to this gives you feelings you can't express into words.. Undertale.. Was truly.. A gift..
One day you wake up, you go to your computer and go on Steam, you then find Undertale.. It's been so long since you've played it.. So you boot it back up and load your original save file, everyone perks up when they realize it's you.
A tall Skeleton appears, running towards you, looking happier than ever. "HUMAN! ITS BEEN SO LONG! YOURE FINALLY BACK!"
You feel your heart get warm, as everyone comes over to say hello to you again. Tell you their stories theyve experienced when you disappeared, and they all give you a big hug..
"seeing you gone *chilled me to the bone*" Sans joked, as usual.
"Oh my child.. I'm so happy you're safe.." Toriel looked so happy to see you again after all of these years. Her soft voice felt like music.. Her eyes glimmer with happiness.
You felt.. Happier now.. As your childhood was restored..
And you were filled with **determination**..
God it was such an experience. I was a little kid in a bad situation, but Undertale made it all worth it. Select few things make me as happy as that game did. It began my love of indie games, it brought me friends that I’d never have had otherwise, and memories I wish I could relive. I don’t talk to my online friends anymore, we lost contact a few years ago, but I think about them every day. I was so happy. Everyone talks badly about the fandom (for good reason) but those people, well, some, encouraged me as a little kid to take control of my mental health and life. Who knows where I’d be of not for this game and the soundtrack that I’d sit and listen to for hours. Godspeed, toby fox. A creative genius.

It's been years. 6 years, to be exact. The underground is empty. Now may be a good time to visit it again, just for nostalgia. It's very quiet, the previous inhabitants no longer using the old shops or homes. Dust has gathered from time, or perhaps a more malicious outcome, but you make no comment. You're not here to dwell on choices, made or unmade, after all. You're just here to remember. You sit by a nearby stream, dipping your feet in the water, humming some tunes from a long time ago. Some of them make your face burst into a grin, others make your eyes water with unshed tears. Finally, you stand up, and follow the light purple path. It's still here, the quaint little house. It used to fill you with so much determination, but now.... You're not sure what to make of how you feel. There's definitely some happiness in there, but, your heart aches none the less. You step inside the house, and are more than a bit surprised to hear a faint song emanating from somewhere in the old home. Nobody had been here in ages, so where was it coming from, you wondered. You walk towards the room the music seems to be coming from, and are brought to stand in front of the room you had slept a night in when you first fell into this strange place. You inch open the door, and see, in the middle of the room, a small tin music box. It plays a familiar tune, one that you've hummed yourself to sleep with night after night, one that you've remembered someone to. One that you've remembered Toriel to. The song is a bit off tune in some parts, and it sounds like the music box has either been used too little or too much. You're not sure how it got here, or how long it's been playing, but just hearing the song makes you start to tear up. Toriel, she used to hum it while she baked. She'd hum the sweet song when she was doing a lot of things, really; She'd hum it while sweeping, while watering the plants around the ruins, while tucking you into bed. And then you'd left the ruins, and you'd met Papyrus, and Sans, and Undyne, and Alphys, and Mettaton, and Asgore, and just thinking about them makes your previously unshed tears slide down your cheeks. You hadn't really seen any of them in a while. You still cared about them, of course, but you all had different things to do, and you hadn't gotten the chance to talk to them. It'd been 2 years since you last saw Toriel. It had felt like a short time while it was happening, but now, looking back, it seemed almost like a tunnel of time that traveled on for miles. You couldn't even see the end. You're not as determined as you used to be. Every time you glanced at the landmarks from your journey, it just filled you with a sadness, a longing for how things used to be. You want the simple times back. You want to meet a bunch of monster friends in a mountain, you want to free a wrongly imprisoned species, you want to go back to when you knew what was right and wrong.
It's time to go home, now, though, and you get up from your spot on the floor. You're about to leave, when the music box creaks to a halt. Your tears spill over the edge again, and you turn around, cradling the small fragile music box in your arms, rewinding it, hoping it'll play the song once again. The first notes play once again. You let out a sigh of relief. Maybe it's time to leave, but you're going to bring this small piece of happiness with you. You may not be as determined, anymore, but your friends would be proud to see you trying, so you let a small and nostalgic smile slip onto your face, and you walk home, the sounds of Fallen Down filling your ears on the trip back.

Wow. This combined with the music made me tear up. My brother was in the room with me and I had to turn away so he would see my tears. : ) Something about this story. Something about this song. Something about Undertale. It fills me with so much emotion. Perhaps it’s because everyone experiences that at one point or another. Drifting away from your friends, I mean. Missing the good old days when you didn’t know that those would be the good old days. I’m experiencing it right now. A lot of people are experiencing it right now with quarantine and all. Maybe that’s why I connect so much with this. Thank you for your comment.
