@@TamESQ No but I've watched a ton of legal analyses on this case specifically, and I've been obsessed with lawtube for years, especially defamation cases. Also not sure you're aware she did file a couple days ago. Honestly I think this guy just didn't have all of the information.
This is wrong. Gadd and Netflix did everything except use her name: Gadd played himself which helps to identify Harvey; the pub in north London; the actress playing her was almost identical to her in build, accent, mannerisms, had same degree and job background and within minutes of the show airing, Harvey was easily found. She's received death rates and other unpleasant communications. In English law if a person is 'identifiable' then there's grounds for action if there are untruths and they've suffered harm. So far, no one has found the arrest, conviction and prison sentence for Fiona Harvey (real life Martha) and if it didn't happen then she has been defamed.
but Gadd said not to try to look her up, that should be enough. It doesn't matter what this guy thinks. It matters what a jury thinks and Netflix is in trouble.

English law? She's suing an American company for US dollars. Richard Gadd shouldn't have had to keep his personal experiences a secret just because the woman couldn't handle making her social media accounts private. Do you like it when men are abused? The show has been linked with an 80% increase in referrals to male victim helplines and shelters.

This legal analysis is completely wrong. The fact she wasn’t identified by name does not mean she wasn’t identifiable. Also, “if you don’t want attention, don’t give interviews”?? What kind of comment is that? She ABSOLUTELY has all the right in the world to defend herself when she’s receiving death threats as a result of the show. Who is the lawyer guy??? TERRIBLE…
