@scrummymummy2 what you could do also for her block starts is help her build her fast twitch muscles. Get her into the block formation from what this video is teaching you and then get a tennis ball and step back about 5-6 steps infront of her blocks then put the tennis ball over your head and when you say go drop the ball, if she gets to it at one bounce she's great, gets there at 2 then she's still good but can still keep working at it, at 3 then you would need to keep doing this.
This is great advice. Do you produce anything for a young athlete that is practically easier to understand and apply? My daughter is a great hurdler but struggling with the start as she is not naturally explosive. She always comes through in the middle of the race but for indoors she is persistently losing and it's hitting her confidence. Need help!
Can you please share the original video of Richard Thompson in the highest quality possible? this is by far the best start I've ever seen, even better than Asafa Powell!
Since they're new spikes, its going to take a little while to break them in. As for the sprinting part, to get better times, you need to run on your toes. When I did, i dropped a full second.
i recently got spikes and i tried them today (im a sprinter ) and i dnt like them. They dnt hurt my feet its just tht imm supposed to run on my toes and i dnt run on my toes, there is no flexibility, i have a race next weeek and im really worried
I have no issue with the purpose of the video. Amazing analysis and information, but all of the stopping and playing and tiny little ticks destroy it for me. I am a visual learner so I was trying to see the full play of the start or maybe like continuous slow mo not stop and go. It kinda irked me because Im like okay lets see the full start...and it would keep stopping and ticking. You should make another vid fulling displaying the start.
you will want to run on your toes for short distance runs if you want to get good times. As the distances get longer, you will rely on your heels more, but for sprints such as the 100m or 200m, the area around your toes is all the traction you should need.
Ive seen thousands of diff block starts world class have different variations find out what works dont overthink this stuff with all our anaysis jamaica stills out sprint s us in the united states
The best I've seen on block start.
Outstanding analysis of the block start... definitely appreciate all of the cues to help the coach improve athletes starts!

Really nice video, despite what these comments say, this is helpful to get even better form after knowing the basics, thanks a tonne
Thank you Latif, simple, precise, just as it should be. Good job man!
this helped a lot! definitely gonna show my coach this I think he needs to see it. Hopefully ill be able to break into the 10s now so close!
im in track and this is some very useful info
Great! This will definitely help me break into those 13s, i have been knocking at their door!

Do you think there's a small advantage starting with a 3point start vs a 4point in cutting down a few seconds???
should the back arm come back straight as Richard's does? I was always taught it should be bent?

This is good analysis but i still believe u find what work for the athlete

everything you said here is wrong.

great info but bad video. people want to see motion not stills in a video.
good coaches want to learn. people looking for short cuts say what you just said.
@@CompleteTrack no videos help good coaches learn better. Still footage handicaps the learning and waste time
Does all this really matter?
Talking too much is a good thing.
I rather learn knowledge than from perspective.
her blocks are too fare!!!
You make nice points but you talk a little too much :(
lol
you're not wrong
Bad video can’t see anything
bad computer.
nice
