    • @FedAccess
      @FedAccess  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you watch my complete course, it will be clearer. In a nutshell, the government posts solicitations on SAM. Each solicitation has a due date. You must submit your bid before the due date. An Award Notice means the proposals have been submitted, they've reviewed the proposals, and they've selected the successful offeror. The Award Notice probably tells you the name of the successful offeror.

    Hi, I am a solopreneur interested in finding micropurchase or SAP opportunities. There is limited information on YT (or pretty much anywhere for that matter) about these types of opportunities. From what I have gathered, it boils down to finding the buyers through the OSDBUs and/or Small Business Specialiat and asking to be placed on the approved vendors list. Do you have any other insight? Will you please make a video on this topic?

    • @FedAccess
      @FedAccess  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it does boil down to finding the buyers and building relationships with them. I have a video on how to search FPDS.gov to find who buys what you sell. I also have a video on how to find events in your area where you can meet buyers. I'm happy to do more videos on this topic... Please tell me more about the problems you are facing...

    • @laborndcluv7649
      @laborndcluv7649 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FedAccess I am familiar with FPDS and have watched several videos on how to data mine and export to Excel. I have not watched your video on how to meet buyers, but have attended events in the past. I have an environmental engineering consulting firm. When I contact the OSDBU or Small Biz Specialist, they do not seem to want to talk to me. I have watched several marketing videos that advise not to send out cap statements without referring to a solicitation, but if I am trying to be considered for non-advertised opportunities, then how does that work? How do I get on these preferred vendor lists? I went to one if the matchmaking sessions at one of those events and it was a joke, the Dept rep said "oh you haven't done any governnent work before" and basically laughed and scoffed at me. I said "I thought that's what this was for, to meet the government" 😳 smh I just dont understand how to get these people to talk to me. I am working w/my PTAC and they told me to say I wanted to set up a capability review. I called another SBO in another government entity, and they told me they dont even set those up unless a buyer asks for you specifically. 😒 I mean, this is silly at this point. Everybodybusbsaying to contact these people, but these people dont want to talk 🙄

    • @FedAccess
      @FedAccess  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I feel your pain. I have two thoughts. The first, is to go in as a subcontractor to a government prime contractor. As a subcontractor, you may get a chance to meet the fed customers and build relationships with them that way. You might also decide you like working as a subcontractor and just keep doing that. My second thought: why not submit a bid for a competitive solicitation. You can search sam.gov to find solicitations for bid. When the selected bidder is announced (almost no one wins a bid on their first attempt) you should request a debrief. This will get you and your company in front of the contracting officer. I have a video on your first bid, that explains the debrief process.

    How do a small company with certifications contact or search a prime company or large company to partner up with them to utilize your certification to get a contract?

    • @FedAccess
      @FedAccess  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would start attending networking events. These go by different names, such as Meet the Buyer events and Industry Days. They are a great way to meet government buyers and also meet Prime Contractors and other small businesses. I have a video on how to find these events.

    So if the publishing date is fairly old but it still says active does that just mean no one ever picked up the contract?

    • @FedAccess
      @FedAccess  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The important thing to look for is the Proposal Due Date. If the proposal due date has passed, they are not accepting proposals for this opportunity. I have seen some very old listings still listed as Active. I think they just never bothered to update the status.

      That is not a government contracting term. in other words, there is no specific definition in government contracting. Different people seem to use the word to mean different things.
