Great video, with a little bit of everything and step by step. I love how realistic this is, everybody else is hyping too much like it is the easiest thing and only showing the wins. Thanks man
This is so realistic, I see some other videos and while great-- I notice a pattern, and not a very good one. This industry requires due diligence. I refuse to buy a course. I am truly thankful for you for putting these videos out!
Courses help to save time. But the thing is, not everyone needs a course. Or a book. Or anything. At the end of the day, nothing can take away having to do the hard work. I try to be different by keeping things as real as possible, so thank you!
Hi Derek, I work for a High End Investor in the Real Estate Space And he is always interested in Growing & Purchasing Other Agencies & Businesses. When people are looking to sell or Retire their Government Contracting LLC Business's, would you maybe be able to make a tips video for beginners & veterans on this? ;How to find sellers or buyers for your business. If I could reach out to speak more that would be great too!
Hey Derek, Another great video, question I reached out to a few subcontractors, 1 got back to me wanting to make a site visit of the facility, I haven't even submitted the proposal yet, I'm still gathering quotes, what do I tell that subcontractor about the site visit, of course I cannot be there being in another state.
It has helped you get a contract ? That’s what I’m trying to do just getting started honestly would love some insight and guidance if you could help steer me in that direction thanks
@@clintedwards5664 if you are just starting you are asking the wrong questions. You should be getting material to read to understand the process from end to end. And putting processes in place to streamline when you do get a contract. Getting the contract is honestly the easiest part once you understand how to read and respond to solicitations the right way. The worst thing is to get a contract and not being able to perform on it. A lot of this is trial and error and not a quick scheme. no 1 book or material will guarantee you a contract. But it gives all the info you need to get started. So in that sense if you are just starting yes it will help more than not having it. You will not find everything in TH-cam videos or google for that matter. I promise you that. Hope this helps even if it’s just a little.
@govkidmethod How can I find out which solicitations/Industries are going unbid or have few bidders/competition? When submitting RFQ’s do I need to include the first few pages from the proposal builder in the course (cover page etc or do I just need to need to respond with pricing.
First question, you can’t really disseminate an entire industry like that. Second. Cover pages and cover letter are standard. But if the SOL calls from something different or has a tight page limit, adhere to those instructions above all else. When unknown, it’s a solid go-to.
Typically word if it’s a proposal being requested. And excel and pricing clins if it’s a quote. This will be stated in your solicitation however so the best thing you can do to win is learn to read the SOL and uncover this info so your offers are compliant.
Thanks your your content. Are awards usually decided after the deadline? Also I submitted a proposal for providing vehicles, do you think I should email to find out what the situation is?
There is the proposal submission deadline. The award will take place some weeks/months after that. It's okay to check in with contracting to see if there is an anticipated award date.
In your opening statement you say you helped a company you worked for win contracts and now you teach others.... Does this mean gov contracts aren't very lucrative otherwise you'd be doing it instead of selling the "shovels "?
I explain in many other videos…I had to sign a 2-year non compete when I left that job. So, “selling shovels” was the next best thing. And I’m not trying to convince anyone of the money that can be made in govcon. You don’t have to look very far to find multi millionaires who started and grew in govcon. But it’s not for passive income get rich quick “hoppers” that can’t commit to anything or do hard work.
I have limited control over how many commercials they run. Even if there is 0 monetization google/youtube still runs these days. Glad you enjoyed the video. TH-cam Premium is also an amazing thing if you are actively on YT.
@@GovKidMethod awesome man! I truly appreciate all that you’re doing on this channel, on social media in general, and among the gov con space. Keep crushing. You earned my “ like & subscribe!” 🤙🏽
If the solicitation on sam.gov says updated does that mean that same previous solicitation had no bids it on so the Gov put it back out for another try?
I really like how you deliver your content as a new business in government contracting
Thank you for that feedback!

Have the sub go and represent your company. You coordinate the site visit with contracting and send over the subs credential for background check.
@@GovKidMethod Thank you, I will be purchasing your book soon.
