Funny how out of all movies, Sidekicks gets a collector's edition release. Very funny and out of the blue choice. I recall seeing this in the theaters when I was like 11 and really enjoying it. I still enjoy it as a cheesy early 90s fave but totally love laughing at it these days. Very cute cheesy flick, but still plenty of fun. RIP Jonathan Brandis. You were so much better and cooler than you thought.
VS is becoming my favorite movie boutique label. Most of their movie genres are not my taste but when I do order something (like Sidekicks) you can tell they have the best quality. Even the shipping boxes are nice. This is the standard to aim for.
I got From Beyond last week, & watched it last weekend on 4K. Probably one of my favorite titles to be released by Vinegar Syndrome. Looks awesome with all the great colors in HDR. Packaging is top tier as well.
Extra points for the FEMBOT reference. I said the same thing in my haul video Ken I think it's been 25 years since seeing Sidekicks, too. Very nice interior art and slip.
Glad you got you order! Mine came yesterday. All with slips but one of them. Biggest VS box I have received too! VS slips are so thick and well made. BTW, your From Beyond cover is reversible.

Ice Cream Man is a great place to start. I missed out on it, but seen it. Blades is like Jaws, but with a lawnmower instead of a Great White Shark. Kathy Ireland is the star of Alien from LA.
Trauma actually is fairly decent as far as "later" Argento films go (post golden era). It's not nearly as good as his earlier work, but you do get Tom Savini doing the makeup and effects -- so the film is solid and worth it just for that right there. And that blu ray is sourced from a 4K scan of the OCN, so the restoration is as good as you'd expect from VS. It is a bit more convoluted than other Dario films, but it still retains a few classic Dario-isms, and it's probably better than any film he's released since.
Nice haul indeed! My order from January finally shipped this week. I also got From Beyond 4K (big fan of the movie, I have the old OOP Scream Factory BluRay) along with Sworn to Justice with Cynthia Rothrock and The Grave when it was in the 10 dollar section. The Grave sounds interesting so wanted to give it a try at 10 bucks. Look forward to the reviews of some of the stuff you got!

Great haul, Ken! Ice Cream Man is a pretty old release so the slip is gone for that one. If you like killer ice cream man flicks, there is another one you should check out called Mr. Ice Cream Man. I really liked that one. Just finished watching Side Kicks and it was a lot of fun!

About 5 of the 10 dollar films prr day, partner label titles… Yes, my wallet went out and has not been seen since. Lol Even got that lenticular Vinsyn 10-years anniversary print. Phew. I really love Vinegar Syndrome. They are expensive, but you also get rare titles packaged in beautyful, respectful art made in solid matrrial. It maintains and sometimes increases the value over time, but most of all you feel VS really loves genre film like we collectors. Please do more VS if you like. My package is ”delayed”. Sidekicks was one of my favorite movies growing up, I watched it a lot and when I did my VHS purge about 8 years ago, it was one of the movies I kept. Now I'm interested to see if it holds up as I will be getting the 4k of it soon. Please do a review of it as well.

Invisible Maniac’s alternate slipcover is lenticular so if you turn it sideways you get a show I actually bought the slipcover and did not get the movie so during subscriber week I bought the standard edition of the 4K along with 5 other movies and yes From Beyond is one of them Great Video Ken

Alien From L.A. is a waste of money! Trauma was Argento's first misstep after Opera the movie is passable but well below his standards. But it's glad to see you embracing Vinegar Syndrome they have a lot of good ones. Now you only need to get more Severin titles they too have a lot of good ones. Ken, Sony did release sidekicks on DVD in 1992 it was a limited run I think only video stores were able to buy it, u had to buy a used copy from blockbuster, lol
Oh god, I can't believe someone released Alien from LA on blu-ray. That movie is horrible, but laughably so. Also one of the best/worst movies Mystery Science Theater ever did. Kathy Ireland's voice is like nails on a chalkboard and she has one facial expression the entire film.
I regret not getting Alien from LA, the slip looks so good but I heard it was bad. I liked Rush Week, I bought that one and Whatever it takes because Master Chaos recommend them. He’s a VS expert. I want From Beyond and the other more expensive ones but I’ll wait for a sale.

Cool video but I would have Waited 30 days on buying sidekicks on 4k bc 45 bucks for a 4k catalog title is way over price but if you wait 30 days you can get sidekicks on 4k for 20 bucks cheaper bc sidekicks won't be a vinager syndrome expensive and you can pick up sidekicks on 4k almost any retailer for 20 bucks cheaper but it is cool you got sidekicks on 4k but I will be waiting 30 days to buy sidekicks on 4k to get it for 20 bucks cheaper and cool pick ups you have gotten on bluray and 4k and keep the videos coming
I bought Sidekicks, From Beyond and Ted Bundy directly from VS. Got my package last week and From Beyond was nowhere to be found. It’s the main one I was wanting and some dumbass that works in their warehouse making minimum wage couldn’t follow a simple 3 item order when putting mine together so I now have to wait another week and a half to get a copy of From Beyond. I most likely won’t ever buy directly from VS again. I know things like this happen from time to time, but I’ve only bought directly from them a couple times before and this was a huge gaffe on their part.
The first like minute or 2 every day of the sale it seemed like there was a title or 2 incorrectly priced at $3 something, and Alien from LA was one of them and I was able to snag it for that price. Watched it this weekend, and it's not worth the $3 I paid lol, it's soooooooo bad! As for the Invisible Maniac alternate slip, it was something you could only buy April 1st for $6 last year and they didn't tell you what it was, they said it was an invisible slip they were designing. It was lenticular so when you looked at it from one angle it looked just like the one you got, but as you turned it her clothes get removed. I got both covers!

It is on DVD 📀. I own the DVD. This 4k/ blu ray is an awesome release. One of my favorite childhood movies.
