I love how everybody says DC continuity was a mess before Crisis on Infinite Earths, but it's been far more confusing since DC started doing all these different crises. And I've been reading DC for 50 years.
@The Brave and the Boys you're doing an amazing job! I feel the best videos come from the heart and just embracing the fun of sharing! Out if curiosity, do you consider "Doomsday Clock" a Crisis story, as it does re-establish continuity? We had "Doomsday Clock", "Dark Nights: Death Metal", and "Dark Crisis" all re-establish the multiverse within such a short amount of time. It's like they wanted us to know they love the multiverse concept, too. Lol
I just wish that they included "World War III" in any of the printings! Especially since they increased the cost to $150 for the latest printing! I get that inflation is a thing, but it would have been appreciated since it is an event within the event.
I had the fat trades and was happy with it but I upgraded to the omnibus since it was like the 2nd book I ever read and did a give away for them. Including WW111 would have made to much sense
@The Brave and the Boys ah, so you see the "logic" of DC, too! Lol "It affects the events of the event? Leave it out!" I'm hoping we see growth and change. They did after all reprint some of the collected editions that sold out due to James Gunn's announcements and rather quickly. Maybe it will help them realize that there are collected editions that sell and that people want more!
@@DBZALLSTAR isn’t it included in the omnibus? Great video bro ! Seems like you had fun making this yo ! I’m glad you even included titles that act like a crisis. Flashpoint & Infinite Crisis are my favorites ever.
On my Crisis collection I also have Flash Between worlds before COIE (the first time the multiverse concept appears in comics is there) and Identity Crises before IC (it happens right before and sets up the tone for IC).
Great choices here. The only one I don't own and have never read is Injustice. Always been on the fence about it but I'm leaning toward getting it now. Damn you.
I didn’t even add it in to the video but injustice just became crazy relevant with what’s going on with John Kent in the comics rn!!!! But injustice is amazing! Buy both hahaha! Plus you can save $2 on Organic price books with my code Braveboys!! Jkjkjk but for real it’s amazing
I only own the HC of Metal, Laughs and Death Metal, I haven't read them yet but I get the feeling that I should sell those and get the omnis instead ^^'
My favorite Crisis is Final Crisis. Its incredibly high stakes, surprising in its shift in tones and how it handles the characters. Just absolutely epic. However, as an editorial event, its poorly planned out. Most tie ins and series, aside from being quite mediocre do not add much to the main event. An Absolute or Hardcover with the Morrison penned issues is more than enougth. My favorite Crisis Omnibus is Infinite Crisis. Editorially speaking, its brillantly mapped out and planned, with tie ins and minis leading into each other in almost perfect fashion. Just brillantly planned event. You could see that every creator involved was on the same page, and the result was stunning. So, favorite Crisis - Final Crisis Favorite Crisis event and omni - Infinite Crisis.
@@TBATB I think this book suffered from higher up meddling 100%. The ending feels so odd and makes me think it was not even close to what was intended originally
@@yaddasmelkins when you hear Tom King talk about with a Book originally was going to be versus what it became. It’s really really really sad and disappointing.
@@TBATB I'll have to look up his original plan. I just know it got changed, but not to what extent. Same with his Batman run that was supposed to be 100 issues
I just received Multiversity and Seven Soldiers, so now I own all that is needed to read Final Crisis. Seven soldiers goes after Grant Morrison Batman vol 1 and not after Fourth world vol 2? Btw, Batman loeb/sale,Superman death and return are all stories that have happened before infinite crisis?
Pssh, says it's every DC Crisis but doesn't even talk about Crisis on Multiple Earths, Identity Crisis, Crisis of Conscience, Heroes of Crisis, etc. Where's my 2 and a half long video of every comic with the word Crisis?!
is reading Crisis on infnite earths and inifiite crisis omnibus enough to read /understand FINAL crisis? asking because i dont want to read all those long arcs

I can’t wait till someday I’ve been reading DC for 50 years!
Should have included another bonus “Crisis” Blackest Night since it included the entire universe and is one of the best crossovers of all time
I should update this! I didn’t own it at the time but do know!
Thank you for sharing!
It seems like you had a lot of fun putting together this video!
Also, loved the shoutout to Bar!
I tried to just speak from the heart instead of a script on this one. I felt a lot more comfortable and natural!

Every one go check out OmniNation’s channel!!!!
This was an awesome and well-informative video! I like you skipped some of the filler stuff but recommended some good issues to read. #InfiniteCrisis
Thank you so much! I wanted to try and fit in doomsday clock but that kind of snowballed into my next video!

This video was super helpful for me , metal and death metal reading order .. thanks alot
Of course dude! This video is a little older, now they have the death metal omnibus which is even better!
@@TBATB i have the omnibus both actually metal and death metal i just ordered justice league and batman who laughs thanks to you
You are welcome! 🙏🏻
Oh this is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you my man 🫡🤝
Glad I could help! Welcome to the channel! We have a discord! I’d love to hear what you are currently waiting!
This is an interesting and wonderful recommendation vid. Hopefully I can pickup one of the Crisis omnibus or the 52 omnibus someday. Thks man.
I hope you do too! Such awesome books!
Great video! Loved it! 🤘
Thank you so much for watching! What are you reading rn?
My buddy Paul had a pretty epic Midlife Crisis!
Is there an Omnibus for it?
Hahahah
@@DBZALLSTAR Sadly no. I’ve been collecting the annual trades ever since he bought a boat he can’t afford. Fingers crossed though!!!

Metal was "my" crisis as well. First I ever read and really accelerated my growing love for DC comics. What a ride.

So are you Dark nights metal > Death metal or Death metal > Dark nights metal?
@@TBATB I can't make that call just yet. I'm only partway through reading Death Metal at the moment! They're both so much fun though.
It is fair to say final crisis is indeed the real final crisis that is worthy the crisis brand.
It’s hard. I love metal, death, but you’re right I’m not sure I can say they’re ass good as the og crisis. Don’t get me started on dark crisis
@@TBATB or heroes in crisis :wink :wink
@@shengcer haha that’s just like identity I don’t really consider a crisis but gosh heroes in crisis was a gorgeous looking dumpster fire
Final Crisis, while not my favorite, is the one that keeps pulling me back into it.
I love final crisis as an event, but the Omni is not my favorite
As someone whos just starting out to read comics this is perfect! Thanks for the video mate 👍

Never read the Seven Soldiers or Multiversity. I need to check those out and then reread Final Crisis. Interesting stuff as always.
They both elevate the story much more then any of the final crisis tie ins
I only own the HC of Metal, Laughs and Death Metal, I haven't read them yet but I get the feeling that I should sell those and get the omnis instead ^^'
The omnibus is amazing! And it will match perfectly with Dearh Metal this January
I had my hesitation in investing my wallet and time. This video definitely pushed me off the edge. Will be picking these up…slowly lol
Haha it is a long journey but just focus on one book at a time!
I am new to JLA, what omnibus reading order do you suggest?
Honestly just jump in!
What about crises on multiple earths?
Do yall recommend recommend reading doomsday clock before reading Death Metal?

Yes Batman and Loeb are both before infinite crisis.
You could read ether 7 soliders, or Batman first and then Final Crisis, followed by Multiversity!
Fourth world is separate and waaaaaay older but it gives good context before you start final crisis!
@@TBATB I’m glad Fourth world was needed, I was going to get it anyway. Big Darkseid fan. Thank you as always.
