Building of an earthbag dome at our permaculture farm!

- Over the last 1.5 years we have been building an earthbag/superadobe dome at Vanirah Farm. This dome will function as a winter community kitchen. It is not completely finished yet, so watch out for our next videos, where we will be revealing the final result!
Building the main structure with earthbags was fast! And we have learned a lot! However, the finishing work took us a lot of time (also due to a lot of other work at the farm which needed to happen, like building ponds and a large earthbag rainwater harvesting tank). But we are super happy with how it is shaping up!! And we cannot wait to finish it!

What are those bags call and where can I find in India 🇮🇳
They are polypropylene bags and you can find it through Indiamart. The bags are normally used in the cement industry. Are you planning to build as well? Good luck!
@@vanirahfarm8455 yes, I have always wanted to make and build one but everyone around me thinks it's won't last long and it's not strong blah blah.. But I am so into sustainable living.
@@ladybug-ze8eu Earth can be really strong and durable and comfy to stay in (cool in summer and warm in winter), but you will have to know the characteristics of your soil first. A good idea is to volunteer somewhere where they have build with earth, like Thannal or Geeli Mitti, dont know if you have heard from them? We are also receiving volunteers now and then, although I must admit we are still learning all aspects of earth construction ourselves 😅. Happy to help you out though with whatever we know if you have more questions.
