I'm here because I think back to when they hand made all the parts and the skills old watch makers must have had . Watching these being restored fascinates me. It's the engineering. Amazing
I wear the Seiko SNK805 every day. It costs less than $100 and is also astonishingly accurate. You seem to have restored its grandfather. Hats off to the Seiko engineers for this piece of technical wonder, and to you for documenting this marvellous restoration.
Fantastic Restoration. What you do is very appreciated. It's good to see these pieces of history brought back to life. That watch deserves a good home. Good luck to all!
I took some conservation and restoration classes in 2018, mostly on paper documents (I am graduated in History). Imagine how amazing finding your channel was! The care you give to every detail is beautiful for us enthusiasts. I appreciate what you do here mate, congratulations!
Bloody marvelous restoration, it turned out great! 👍🏻 I’m a 16 year old chap and you and a few other watch based channels have inspired me to start collecting, servicing and restoring watches, I am saving up my pocket money to buy tools as well. I look forward to seeing other watch brands on the channel especially some Swiss ones. Thank you and keep up the good work, you channel is growing strong.
What an incredible journey. You turned someone’s trash into an absolute jewel - and that in a way, so all of us, on the other side of the camera can follow and be inspired, to take on a similar project (even though I might start with something smaller). I would be deeply honoured to wear this piece, with such a great history. Again- Thank you very much. Keep up your good work.
From what you started with, that is a fantastic restoration. There are purists our there that would have left it original but that poor beater needed the full treatment. Thanks for letting us come along for the ride.
I really like your approach to watch repair and the way that you, pretty-much, explain everything as you go along, including the pit-falls that you have come across in the process. Really inspirational stuff! Many thanks.
Thank you for all the time and effort you put into this channel. I want to learn enough to be able to service my grandfathers Certina watch that he was given in 1963 so channels like this one are a big help.
Amazing final result. Loved watching you work on this one, turning it from awful condition into such a beauty. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and looking forward to similar restoration projects.
This has been a great top-to-bottom series. Whoever the winner is will have one heck of a detailed view and history of this little guy. Great work here, nicely done!
What a job ! Incredible patience, work and advices put into this beauty ! Regardless of the reward, I have already learned and appreciated a lot: THANK YOU! Keep dazzling us with your very good videos ! Thank you M8te !
What a fantastic result! I'm learning such a lot from your videos, I'm new to watch repairing and this series has given me the insight into so much more than I could ever imagine! So thank you for taking the time to video the restoration of the watch, I can't believe it's same one! I watch a lot of TH-cam videos, but very rarely comment, so good luck to us all for the chance to win this brilliantly restored watch! 🍀
I love this channel so much! I stumbled upon it a year ago and I am now a watch repair addict. Thank you so much for sharing your skills and knowledge. I've repaired a few digitals since then and this series on the Seiko has given me the confidence to take on a mechanical watch. Brilliant work sir!
Looks great Mike, nice restoration. I can see why you are proud of all the hard work. I hope the new owner gets many years of hassle free timekeeping from it. Roll on 10K subs :-)
Thanks for your videos. I've been watching some of your works. Fell into watch repairs and restoration with finding an old omega geneve of my grandfather. From that time I've been watching and doing the restoration. Love from Sri Lanka. 🥰😍
Retro seiko restorations what not to love! Great job. So great to see people enjoying timepieces for the love of design and Horology. Instead of collecting to show wealth. Keep up the great content 👌🏻
Hey thank you for the opportunity to win this watch, and thanks for a great series showing the journey. This is exactly what I love about vintage watches. You can find something that is rough and unloved, likely been sat in a drawer for years. And with a lot of care an attention, you can give it a new life. For me that’s what watches are about, and I’m happy that this series has captured this. Thank you for your time- Lawson
I try to buy watches that aren’t too bad cosmetically, and only need servicing of the movement , but these videos are inspiring me to get some supplies and venture into refinishing.
Well I must say the last 3 months and 10 videos hasn't been in vain👍 The completed timepiece is amazing....the rally style strap really compliments the dial. You inspire myself and many others I suspect to restore watches that most people would ordinarily discard. Keep up the good work😊 P.s whoever is lucky enough to be presented with this Seiko enjoy, it's a wonderful timepiece and knowing the evolution of the restoration is truly a bonus. Good luck one and all🤞
Fantastic work, for a fantastic result, but more than that fantastic entertainment throughout the whole series. Thank you for restoring my faith in watching TH-cam content.
There is no way that you could get so little for that time piece. It looks easily worth a couple of hundred. It turned out so much better than I imagined. Well done, just well done!
Thank you for giving me the confidence to try and restore by Lorus watch I used to wear while laying tile in the 70s and 80s in Los Angeles. I had it in the drawer for many years and had a battery put in it and found it still keeps perfect time, but the Crystal is all scratched up and I’m going to try and restore it myself thanks to you. thank you..
The end product is fantastic considering it’s condition at the beginning! Good work Mike. The whole series has been amazingly entertaining! Bring on the next restoration!
I do like your videos and I like your desk more, also collect vintage watches and clocks, I'm a enthusiastic of watch repairs, thanks for your videos and don't stope making them, thank you!
Thank you for this series, it is really incredible to see the transformation of this watch. I have to imagine the time it takes to document the whole process like this is dramatically higher than just doing the work yourself. I really appreciate that effort, it really helps give me the itch to to try this myself.
David Smith thanks David. I could probably do all the work in 4 hours or so on this one . You saw most of the work “ live” as I did it. So other than a few off camera bits and then a ton of editing the timescale is about right
That's such a cool watch! It looks better than a lot of the more modern pieces I've been looking at. And sir, your skills are amazing! I have no idea how a person could keep such a steady hand. I love mechanical movements, and my dress clothes would fit perfectly with this watch.
Thank you for the chance! I've just got into automatics (I adore Seiko in particular), and your channel is a lovely help. You've answered tons of my questions already, and your humble attitude and calm demeanor are much appreciated. I love this restoration! I love the '70s style, it reminds me of Bond films of the era. Cheers mate!
Watching your videos inspired me to start this hobby of tinkering with watches. Gave me a new found respect for watchmakers and repairers. In the case of this watch, you put in the effort and the feeling of accomplishment is all yours. The watch carries with it your legacy of hard work and perseverance . Your kindness and generosity is much appreciated by your followers. Well done sir!
Amazing timepiece! Watched all the series and yes I know, Mike, it's like a give away a child. You put so much effort, and so much love restoring this particular timepiece. You are my inspiration! Kind regards, and bow to you! Anton.
Thanks for your channel. It has been my greatest hapiness on TH-cam. I am considering learning and developing my abilities to fix watches now at 59 years old due to your example. Hope you a long and happy TH-cam life. You have a friend in Brazil!
The before and after pictures are just crazy, most people would of just binned the watch. Great case shape and dial not seen this model on a wrist. I threw my 1994 Seiko away when I was a silly young man, one of the few regrets of my life.
Wow, it has turned out beautifully. i love the retro look about it. you have done such an amazing job. It would be awesome to win this beautiful time piece, i would wear it with pride. thank you for taking us on this transformation journey. it has been extremely enjoyable and inspirational. Thank you.
Watched the series. Great work on this watch. Just amazing to see how you restored it to give it away. I’ll definitely try some case polishing now I know the steps to do it properly. Thanks again!

It was very interesting and educating to share this journey with you) Result is astonishing! Hope winner will wear this beauty with pride, realizing amount of work and time put in it) Good luck in future projects!

Marketa Bolton wow thank you . Love you both so much 💕
I have loved watching your videos and have seen the entire restoration videos. You have done miracles with this Seiko watch from what you started with. I know your not 100% thrilled with the way this watched turned out, but from what you started with I am amazed how well it turned out. You brought it back to 98% of what it was when new. I for one would like to see more vintage pocket watches as that is what I mainly restore. I love older Seiko wrist watches and that is all I wear when I wear a wrist watch. I don't usually try to repair wrist watches because they are so small and I don't trust myself yet with these tiny parts. I wish everyone good luck to win this watch and if I win would be proud to wear it.
A stunning result, and great to know that it is as good on the inside as it is on the outside. Not just a pretty face, but it's been properly, thoroughly rebuilt and serviced. It would be an absolute joy to own:) Great work and a very entertaining series. Thanks!
