For real though, I admire Bohemia Interactive for the attention to detail they put in, but the campaign really hasn't aged well unlike multiplayer. But who gets this game for singleplayer anyway am I right?
The way Arrowhead's campaign currently plays out, which I'm sure BI didn't intend, it looks like some sort of Iraq invasion satire where the American forces go in full of trumped up patriotism, but the whole op explodes in their faces and the only thing seeing them through it is their sheer ignorance to the disaster at hand.
The very least, whatever military body planned this airstrip assault should be re-evaluated.

Just a little not so serious montage of events which I thought were funny, when I tried to play the campaign of Operation Arrowhead few months back, no ill will intended. :)
The funniest part is that a lot of these issues are still present in ARMA 3 lmfao
I remember trying out this campaign as well once and I was at disbelief how poorly the bots worked in this mission. I remember restarting it like 10 or so times because my squad lead would keep getting stuck on a prop and just never found a way to move around the prop. Surely BIS must've play tested these missions when they were developing them, how did they just let it pass at the time as if nothing is wrong? Still a fun game for sure though. Really the only playable campaign I have experienced was the Cold War Assault one, that one is fun, especially playing the CWR2 mod.
this game is quite fun even after it was released more than a decade ago. Too bad they shut Armaholic down
at least the csla mod (which is pretty good) is on moddb so its something

Truly, the real battlefield simulator.
Ngl, this game was/is at it's best when you play the Warfare/CTI or whatever it was called mode, sure you had to run a LAN server from the multiplayer screen if you wanted to do a "Singleplayer" run, but other than that it was a blast to see ArmA 2 firing with every cylinder it had, even if it was still janky lol
CTI was genuinely such a treat.
In campaign, no arma comes close to original flashpoint cold war crisis , man that game's campaign was at other level , every mission feels like real war
Agreed, nothing scared me more than seeing a BMP or T-72/T-80, or a Mi-17/Mi-24/V-80 shredding me and my team alive

I played this game in 2012-2014 ten switched to PS Era (PS3, PS4,PS5) Now in 2022 I boght Laptop just tu play Operation Arrowhead again. not a single Console game managed to surpass this great milsim game❤
You should give arma 3 a try
ArmA 2 is outdated in many ways but I still prefer the modern warfare setting and campaign. I really don't like how futuristic ArmA 3 is, and I don't like Altis, I still prefer Chernorus and Takistan.
This is something I hear often but most of the guns and technology in ArmA 3 is something in use as of today in wider and small varieties. There's some slightly more fictional stuff but it's near future at most, not that alien. It's not particularly futuristic.
@@Olanov I know, for example weapons like the AK12 and Katiba actually exist. But there's no M4s, M16A4s, SCARs, AK100 series, MP5s, etc. - the "classics". Also, the scale of battles feels very small, it's more like skirmishes rather than full scale war.

100% agree. I really do not like the Arma 3 futuritic setting, the CSAT faction especially. I d much more prefer to have Arma 3 set like you describe

Somehow i find arma 2 better than arma 3, especially when modded. I find arma 3 much more cumbersome to deal with when making missions. There are many little things that add up that just make it 10 times more boring for me

It was for comedic effect after all of the bugs and poor AI performance on the video.
Played ArmA (ArmA 3 online these days) a shit ton in the past but never tried the campaign. I was genuinely interested and ready to be immersed, only to be met with just how awful it was, so no more reason to keep it either way.
