Honestly.. The world has been sleeping on New Zealand. My country has a long and proud history of petrolheads since day dot of the internal combustion engine across all formats F1, can am, Le mans endurance, dirt track, moto grand prix, motorcross, solo gran prix, tin tops, Bruce Maclaren who gave the world Maclaren F1, Bill Hamilton who invented the jet propulsion motor( jet boat sprints) Scott Dixon, Scott Maclaughlan, indy rookie Marcus Armstrong, drift king Mad Mike Whiddet. We love things that go brrp.. Brrm and to be honest apart from supercars annual pilgrimage across the ditch and WRCs bi annual rally downunder(fact NZ was an original round of the world rally circuit continuously and strongly supported) we don't get to see much other world motorsport so if Nascar wants to invest into a near untapped source of racing aficionados who are extremely loyal to those who show the love then the big chiefs should seriously make hay while the sun is shining. May you never hit 10000rpm.😎
Thanks Mate for pronouncing his name properly. To be honest not many of us can either. In Australia where he now races he;s known as SVG. Here in New Zealand we call him... The Giz.

All year I’ve been saying how this Chicago race was going to be lame, but surprisingly I seriously enjoyed watching that. Especially those last 10 laps or so with SVG working his way up, pretty entertaining I thought. It was just tough seeing my boy Noah struggle through 6 with that beautiful baconator car
Stoked to hear that Alex. Noah should have a solid run this week in Atlanta but it’s great to see guys like SVG come in to serve a challenge. Cup guys will learn from his technique and it can make NASCAR road races even better in the future.
I'm a Kiwi. SVG is my latest hero. I've always been a GM fan, before Shane my hero was Murph, before him it was Brock. But I'm sensible, driving a V8 Gm product is expensive so that is why I drive a Toyota Camry, the most reliable car on earth. I know a lot about Toyota Camrys and know they never built a rear wheel drive, V8 model. So what the hell is that thing I see on Nascar tracks with a Toyota badge on it suposed to be? A Stock car? WTF?
