@@DogFish-NZ It's called common sense. I know because that's NASCAR's bread and butter, and because it's an entirely different skill set. What SVG is on road/street circuits, most of the field of NASCAR is on an oval. I think he'd adapt, and maybe even get some wins, who knows, maybe complete for a title after a few seasons, but he won't be "smoking these guys."
Now imagine how much better and faster Shane could be if they were allowed to cater to his dominant side and custom built a car for him with a right hand side steering wheel with stick shift on his left side? he would have been more beast and at the very least another couple of seconds faster. Not to mention he said it himself he ''left a lot on the table'' as he wasn't fully comfortable with the brake pedal set up as well as other aspects of the car he couldn't have as he would have wanted.
Copy and paste comment from other videos.... Also, I disagree. SVG was driving that car about as fast as it can go. He wasn't going to pick up pace if he was driving on his usual side. By the end of this race, he had the feel of that car down.
@@Cynthesis21Not true....... He picked up the pace after dropping to P18 or after the pile up and blocked track....... but he wasn’t fully comfortable and never at a full charge. Even at the end, he didn’t understand or like the shit American racing tyres. It is time NASCAR bit the bullet and used quality race tyres from either Michelin / Pirelli or one of the lessor companies like Bridgestone or maybe even Continental. Goodyear are a big company and respected, but their race tyres are rubbish. Even when Ferrari used Goodyear, owners found they could gain up to 10 seconds a lap around a 2 mile track by changing to Michelin or Pirelli and even more if they tuned the suspension to the new tyre.
can't wait to see him on an oval , after watching giz for ever ,I know he'll do really well on ovals. he loves the bumper to bumper and door to door bump and run style. doubters will be upset when they're favourite driver's look slow ......... again
Giz would get bored doing oval tracks over time. Imagine him doing a full season, driving oval tracks when Bathurst comes around, he'd be kicking himself.
SVG is a New Zealander but when he drives the supercar down under and they race more street courses so he had the advantage over all other drivers. He is used to the grip levels, and how the car reacts to the camber in the roads.
Not used to the grip levels at, was the first time in his career he had driven a track with concrete sections and wet concrete at that in some sections

Took along time to teach him Super Cars wasn't NASCAR's...
He can drive anything, rally, motor cross, speedway, drift, 24 hours, time attack, circuit, 3x supercar champ
