U'm a Kiwi and an SVG fan but I just watched this interview through to the end. I'm impressed with Justin Haley. This young bloke should get a stint at V8 Super cars. I think he would learn a hell of a lot. Hell to drive as he did in those conditions, the kid has got some real talent. And he's a decent bloke to boot. Go Justin, kick some arse bro.
Now imagine how much faster SVG could be if they were allowed to cater to his dominant side and custom built a car for him with a right hand side steering wheel with stick shift on his left side? he would have been at least another couple of seconds faster.
@@Gordon-r4h I would love to see Larson and a few other guys come over to Aus. I’m hoping that Nascar and supercars could come to an agreement for a round in Aus and the US whereby Supercar drivers are the co-driver for the Nascar guys and vice-versa over here in Aus.. Would be great for both categories🍻
It was basically a V8 supercar race in a NASCAR. So obviously shane would do great. If v8supercars did an oval race, id bet a NASCAR driver would put on a show just like Shane did.
Must give credit to Haley in this race. To come from where he started, fight his way through and then fight with SVG, who has way more street race experience, is very impressive. No one was going to beat Shane, but a fine drive
Idk where yall all was but Haley,Elliott, and Busch stayed out when they changed the race to 75 laps, great strategy but don't be talking like they all drove into those finishes, I'm sure Chase isn't happy he will be honest with his self and us. Great finishes but it was stradegy.
The thing is tho if you put Shane in a car at Charlotte or Vegas or Michigan, somewhere like that he would most likely get lapped, I feel he may be ok on short tracks but intermediate and superspeedways he would look like he made the field look at Chicago.
I doubt it.. more like, lets see an American Nascar driver compete in Supercars in Australia.. now that would be funny watch them try to keep up.. as for actually winning.. chortle.
Great win but reality is he had fresher tires I think we are forgetting that. Larson came from 13 th to 4 th. It might have been just a little different if 2nd and 3rd where on the same pit window. But great race
been saying same thing. everyone being humble, chase is super humble saying he made everyone look bad which he kinda did lol, hard to pass with this car and it was single lane because of the wet track still. had 17 lap better tires than chase and chase had the worst of the tires . right, larson also passed a bunch of cars , cautions and guys wrecking helped as awell. woulda been fun to see him and chase on equal tires duel.
All of you are brain dead all the early top 10 got screwed for putting late he was still 1.2 secs a lap quicker when he put the hammer down. He won in spite of the race being shortened. These cup guys aren’t being humble they know he whooped them
They all started w/fresh tires, they all had an opportunity to stop whenever they wanted to. This guy was better than everyone else yesterday. Let's not make anything up about fresher tires, had more of this or that. He beat them at their own game. NASCAR guys aren't Road Racers every weekend, much less on wet surfaces. He beat them, bc he was better prepared for those conditions.
😂 really? Did he qualify 3rd in his first ever nascar race because of better tyres too? SVG is a far more experienced street circuit driver, and turns right in every race, not just a few. Not to mention, the biggest problem with nascar is the drivers don’t get much rain driving. Huge disadvantage.
@@cptvane3439 yes but Busch isn’t a great road course racer like Chase Elliott or a decent road course racer like Haley. Most people don’t realize equal tires and clean air is unbeatable. I’m not knocking him at all. What he did in that race was amazing. I loved it and was pulling for him even though Chase Elliott is my favorite driver plus I definitely didn’t want to see Haley win.
Great drive by Shane, congrats!!! That was a championship drive by K.B., and the 8 team!!
Everyone did a great job, and it was fun to watch on TV. 🏁

He didn't even turn it on till the final 10 laps. It honestly looked like he was toying with 2nd and 3rd place

4:12 why’d the camera turn to chase and zoom on him drinking a coke😂
Bring NASCAR to Bathurst
Most of them would struggle to get round Bathurst once. They couldn’t even stay out of the tyre barriers in Chicago…

Yes indeedy....i didn't think of that!
Justin did a great job, brought it home 2nd.
For the doubters, go back to Larsons take at 14.00.. Says it all really.. Congrats to SVG and the team🏆🍻
Larson he's one helluva driver, I was happy to hear him say good sh.t about Giz hes one of the best in the game.
Hed do well in super cars.

I think it takes more for non oval racers to adapt to ovals than race course and oval racers to adapt to street courses but ok

Note that SVG is not used to LHD cars or Nascar cars, so he overcame these deficits with his skill.
I'd have loved to see Allmendinger and SVG battle it out. His battle with Ambrose was one of my favorites of all time.
He is a lot faster than Marcos Ambrose

Chase did drive from the back to the top 15 before he crashed again tho, so he was making progress. My man will win Atlanta tho.
Did the slick roads impact the race? 😂😂😂
Chase you were that guy up until this year, I felt like you could win anywhere buddy, don't be too hard on yourself.
His comeback going as a stand up to his ass in tires LOL

The reality also is that it was the first time he'd ever stepped in a NASCAR to race, so there's that too
All of you are brain dead all the early top 10 got screwed for putting late he was still 1.2 secs a lap quicker when he put the hammer down.

The actual reality is Haley and Elliot were only in the top 15 because they didn't put for fresh tires
The only reason that guy won the race is because he had fresher tires on.
Then why didn't the other half of the field with the same life tires charge tonth front like that?
