I found this channel yesterday. Was just on TH-cam and watched that lady talking about the tragedy. I feel very sorry for the loss of her husband and a father. This is so awful and heart breaking. So, decided to watch as many of her videos as I can in order to help her.

I've made this using 2 cans of cherry pie filling, 1 can of pineapple, with lots of chopped pecans sprinkled over the pie filling before the cake mix. It is so delicious served with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream on top. Praying for you & your kids. I'm so sorry for your loss. ❤ 🛐❤🛐❤

This is an old camping favorite, made over the campfire in an outdoor style cast iron Dutch oven with the lipped lid. Two can of sliced peaches, the yellow cake mix, then butter. Set the Dutch oven in the coals of the fire, then shovel some coals on the lid so it cooks from both top and bottom. Great stuff.
I make this all the time except I use 2 cans of apple filling and add a little cinnamon and nutmeg plus about 1Tbs. of lemon juice. The flavor is amazing.

Love seeing different ideas/variations. I learned how to do this when I was a young child in the sixties. the widower man that showed this recipe to mom and me used crushed pineapple drained well and applesauce and just layered didn't even mix . Then he put sliced bananas and then the cake mix. I liked seeing the butter done as you did but he put dots and then watched the first several minutes as the butter melted to spread it evenly. And then continued to bake sometimes I leave off the bananas and often sprinkle the applesauce pineapples with some cinnamon Just a couple years ago I tried with fresh chopped rhubarb and fresh strawberries and sprinkled dry strawberry jello powder before putting on the cake mix also tried with just rhubarb and the strawberry jello - both wonderful
I live in Southern California and a can of store brand Apple pie filling is 5.38 - Blueberry 6.48 and Blackberry 10.95 at our local Walmart... This is one of the many reasons why, I started canning my own pie filling. I love this quick and easy dessert because it gives me another option on how to use my canned pie filling. oh yum it's in the oven right now. I had some left over peach pie filling from when I was making some peach fried pies, I decided I was gonna make a peach cobbler, and found this dump cake recipe. Lol..this is hilarious..is just called my mom..and she learned this from her aunt..and she didn't like the original name..of dump..so I always knew it as apple cobbler...but I asked her..what the real name was..and told me you wouldn't find the recipe ANYWHERE!! First serach..here I am..but yes..she told me Spiced cake mix as well...but she never said pineapple!! And she also uses half a bag of carmels...I want to send this to her!!
This is probably the first dessert I learned to make. I got recipe from a friend. I made peach the first time. Then apple. I have also used granny smith apples. I put some butter on the bottom and some on top. One of my favorite desserts!

Looked inside the pot and saw a wring of red. When the pan cooled was able to save some beans. Refried beans. Baby was fussing, layed down again. Burnt the beans again. Beans were shot, pan was shot.

When I have made dump cake, I used pineapple and cherry pie filling. I melt the butter and pour over the cake mix, I add coconut and chopped pecans on top. Yummy!

I used to make these a lot, I didn't eat them, don't like fruit filled things, (like pie), but everyone else loved it. I used to cook the dinner and desert for a lodge group I belong to. I did a pumpkin one for Nov once, that one I ate also loved it. Once my neighbor gave me berrys from her garden/yard and I had to mix sugar with that and everyone told me that one was the best. I always topped it with walnuts or pecans. I use Imperial as it slices better and easier as all the recipes call for melted butter but that is such a mess to clean up, I just slice it and put it on top like you did also, it melts in a minute or 2 in the oven. Whipped cream or dream whip is real good on top

With all that butter, you should have sprinkled some brown sugar on top before baking for a "caramel glaze".

I use sliced peaches, apple pie filling & crushed pineapples! It's is SOOOO good. I only use 1 stick of butter and it comes out fine.

We used to call this campfire cobbler in scouting. We would use "squirty butter" instead of stick butter and cooked it in a Dutch oven. Yummmmmo!
