That was the most beautiful dump cake video I ever watched. I actually CRIED when you said it was a plate of pure love for family. Then, you started to eat it and a commercial came on and I was like "oh no! I want to see her finish it!" And I never say that, I've usually shut a video off long before that. Thankfully, the video resumed! I'm making this cake tonight for my 91 year dad and my adult disabled son. It will make their night. YOU, my sister, are a very special person!

I've been making dump cakes for years. Now I'll start "bumping up" my fruit fillings. I sprinkle chopped pecans on top as well as pats of "real butter." I also bake for an hour in a gas oven. Thanks Gina!

This looks so delicious! Thank you, Gina! Don't forget to stir those peaches, once you add the corn starch in the hot pan. If you don't, you could get lumps in your peach sauce!!!!! The heat thickens the corn starch, once it reaches a certain temperature, but you need to stir it to keep the sauce nice and smooth. This is so much easier than traditional peach cobbler, and I'm sure even better! Can't wait to make it! One word of warning: If you make too much cornstarch slurry, don't pour it down your sink. It'll block your pipes like it was concrete, and you'll be calling a plumber! Ask me how I know this??? You could build a house with bricks, water, and cornstarch!!

(This was intended for the many people, snipping at our Gina for saying “okay.” It rattled my cage.)
I don’t understand ya’ll. If you are annoyed, don’t watch. OR, let one person criticize and not chime in. If Gina wants to change her videos to suit you she doesn’t need a tsunami. She doesn’t just show her recipe, she teaches. I have put a Gina recipe on my FB page because as a retired teacher, I love that she teaches well enough for kids who want to cook. If you want to hear an English teacher, go be bored somewhere else. I have a Master’s Degree, but one day I started listening to myself teaching my third graders-after every sentence I was saying, “okay?” I was so into teaching and loving it, that I didn’t notice. And I will guarantee you that my kids didn’t notice or care.

I too love her recipes and her videos but I must say it is very annoying with all of the okay okay okay... Sometimes if enough people bring an annoying point up to someone maybe they will try to change it. I do not watch as many of her videos as I would like because I really have a hard time with listening to The chronic okay and I know that is my bad and I am limiting myself but I have to know what I can tolerate

I just got through watching another peach dump cake video and thought I would be making her cake, but after seeing that luscious thick syrup on those peaches I know now it is definitely your cake that I will be making as I also love pineapple, too! And I can't wait to go shopping to get what I need. However, I'm always a little amazed when everybody puts plain old vanilla ice cream on their cake. I taste leans towards butter pecan or butter brickle.

Saw your video and HAD to make your version of a dump cake! I had a few things left after making my Christmas dinner that I thought would make good additions. I had half a bar of cream cheese so I pinched tiny pieces of it and put it on top of the filling before I added the cake mix. The only cake mix I had was french vanilla, which I had never made before, but it was perfect with your filling! After I put the butter on the cake, I sprinkled on the cup of oatmeal, butter, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, brown sugar, flour crumbles I had left over from making the topping for my sweet potato casserole. This is honestly the BEST cake I have ever put on my families table! And I used to make bake cakes for a living!

If my mother knew when she was alive .if there was another way to make crust other than to stand on her feet for hours when she was cooking for us .this would have been on our table every night.

    • @genevalee552

Yes, Brenda, "Cooking Shortcuts" can be a Wonderful help! It's not necessary nowadays to do ABSOLUTELY Everything laboriously by hand, or from scratch. Another way to make a really good & easy Crust, is to mix together a box or two of Instant Muffin Mix (Plain, not Corn Muffin mix), according to pkg directions & "Dallop" the batter on top of the Cobbler to cover most of it. It doesn't even have to cover the whole top, nor do the dallops need to touch, because the oven heat makes them spread with this type of batter to cover the entire top as it cooks & becomes golden brown. I brush softened, or melted Butter on the Crust halfway through cooking, to help the Browning process & enhance the dish's flavor. I've made Peach & Apple Cobblers this way. Delicious!

In cooking school we were taught to use one tablespoon of corn starch per one cup of liquid..i use more, like 1 tbsp plus 2 tsp plus i use the juice from the peaches or pinapple to mix with cornstarch instead of using water..plus i never use margerine, only butter..

I don’t think she knows about this habit of the ‘ok’ word and she needs to tone down on the talk drama and take method acting talking like Martha Steward. She is totally unaware of speaking properly. She keeps calling viewers ‘guys’???
