That's because the level is so much higher these days. It's the same in any sport if you think about it. Young players these days start training when they are very young and they have access to so much information that was not available say 20 years ago. So it makes sense
thanks to the down of the digital age. Same for talking about Michael Jordan verse the stars of today. The players you mention (like earl stricklands, SVB even etc) were great in the 1950's-1990's . That was before forums like AZ and youtube and social media where everyone is a pool coach or posting videos of their trickshots etc. In the 50's-90's it was all about what pool hall you were at and who you lost the most money to, in hopes they would show you something (or you had to watch them in pool halls in action or the greats of the time on TV like Greenleaf/James Evans/Cisero Murphy/fats/mosconi/mike sigel/archer/Wimpy/boston shorty/Mizerak/Hopkins/and can't forget the great Buddy Hall (or even Kid delicious)... so many more I could name but you get the picture.
lol it wasn't invented or first done by efren. Ralph Greenleaf and many others I could name done it since 1915 at least. I'm just happy I'm lucky to know real pool history in a world that only knows efren.
I wish some that comentators pronounce well david's name. I know it's also an english name, but in spain we pronounce it differently. It' not pronounced 'déivit' it's pronounced straight up 'davít'
Shane said it perfectly...there is a lot of luck in pool. Because of that, anybody can win on any given day. There aren't a whole lot of games I've played that have more luck than pool, but especially 9 ball.
If I paid to see the masters and someone next to me was coughing that loud the entire time, while also still not being entirely free from the world-gripping pandemic, I'd be pissed.
for some reason , nowadays , younger plays make almost no mistakes at all and the older ones like these legends here , make many !!

It's called aging. As we get older, things change...
Shan is old now but he is still dominating young players
54:22 Thats the Efren Z kick! That Alcaide missed it shows how tough that shot is.

The Situation looks better off the juice these days 🙌

Same as for Sanjin Pehlivanović...its not San-Jean...its Sanjin
one break where a ball doesn't fall at this level, and you are doomed!!
I fortunately got to this level at my pool hall and it's beyond gut wrenching
@@xATown23xGaming don't sound like you're having fun anymore. Sorry for your loss.
@@godjhaka7376 oh I am, it has elevated my game in a way cuz I know I myself have to be sharp or I'm done
