It also depends on what content you played in the 8k tv. If you were watching 1080p video or even a random resolution video the tv will upscale and try to make it look like 8k or 4k. So, try playing content that has native resolution not upscaled or poor quality. There will be a noticeable difference, you just need to know what contents to play.

We bought a Samsung QLED QN90B (43") recently, replacing our old UE40D6500. It is being used diagonally above the kitchen table, guessing 30 degree horizontal and 30 degree vertical viewing agle. With this the QN90B is hardly usable, colors grey out pretty much, especially skin colours fade away to grey, and the whole picture seems washed out and milky. Especially when when walking in front of the the TV you notice the color change pretty drastically. Does it even make sense to look at other ranges of Samsung (e.g. the Crystal UHD range such as the 8079), as I don't care so much about nastic features or if black is really black), but more on an overall stable image from different angles. Or will all Samsung behave the same due to their PA panels?
If yes I might really need for other panels or product ranges such as OLEDs or IPS panels e.g. by LG.

Depends on which qled you get and if you also get it calibrated, I have the q90t samsung top tv in 2020 and it even got another firmware update late last year and blacks are really black blooming is now so minimal and colours and brightness great for a tv 4yrs old.
However now that oleds are getting brighter I may consider an oled panel in the future just so I can cover dolby vision to complete the formats I can use for gaming and film watching. But by the time I need to upgrade maybe mini led will be more affordable

crystal uhd is just a fancy marketing term for "4k LCD" meaning, "it's old tech" made to sound better. Crystal Uhd isn't actually a thing. It just means it's a basic ass 4k tv. They should really just say "crappy tv". Where qled is actually a specific technology applied to their TVs.

Crystal UHD TVs are low end. They have a mediocre picture quality and low peak brightness

I wanna get S95B Paul. But does it start to get dark as you watch it for a while in a day? I think it’s the ABL and you can’t shut it off, or can you? I’d go nuts if the brightness started ramping down on its own after watching it a few hours. Let me know if that’s correct, I only ask because you own one
