The 15 is in ios 18.1 (seen in geekbench) while 16 is in 18.0 that's not a fair comparison as ios18.1 is in beta still while ios 18 is stable

18.1 beta is smooth than 18.0 for sure right now I’d give the advantage to the 15 on that front 😅

@@n8n8n8nthe camera is same in photos if not better than the s24 and in videos it’s better than any other phone, the performance is better than most if not all phones, the battery last 1-2 hours longer than the s24 I could go on all day, and there’s proof that it is
They say 20% 30% 40% increase, but in actual life experience its 1 second or 0.5 second nobody even cares.
You say that now but I’d be willing to bet if the 16 was .5 seconds slower you’d have a different stance

Something is strange with the iPhone 15 pro Max. The score in Geekbench is lower than usual. Mine gets 7400 and something, but I'm still on iOS 17.4.1.
Exactly. My Iphone 15 Pro Max has 7400-7500 when it was on IOS 17 but the moment I upgraded to 18 I cannot get those scores anymore, it stays on 6800-7000 which is a bit weird and feels tricky because I expected it to improve or go back to normal which didn’t happen…
@@infinitemusic1140 If you watch Geekewan review, Apple has done some tweaking with the kernel to restrict performance in the first few seconds to help with efficiency, heat and stability, so as Geekbench does quick tasks then this will mean a lower score. But in real-life apps will be optimised for the iOS 18 tweaks.
Same here. My iPhone 15 Pro Max on iOS 17.7 has a Geekbench 6 score of over 2900/7500. Apple is limiting the iPhone 15 Pro Max with the latest iOS 18 to make their new release appear superior.

Oh no! The 16 pro max is super fast in opening an app. Infact it’s thousandth of a second faster than the 15 pro max so i need to upgrade mine to 16 pro max. 😂
I don’t understand these type of speed comparison. Why would you need your phone to open an app .001 faster than the previous one? Was there a real life scenario where you can benefit from that thousandth of a second?

You say that but in a couple of 2-3 years your phone will slow down, and by then you will appreciate the small difference in processing speed
There is just a minor difference when it comes to camera. The only thing that's new is you now have the control on the colors and such.

I did see someone actually compress a video or put the iphone to complete a task and the16 pro did it in half the time of the 15 pro , not just open an app what type of speed test is this.

Good one, it’s been long time since I saw such a comparison. Thank you, I am happy with my 15pm. Through the day I was thinking about upgrading considering I won’t get the same trade in value next year, but now I decided not to.
Interesting that the geek bench scores are lower on the 15 pro Max and the 16 pro Max on other tests. Maybe for next time to make it a fair test make sure that the phones are both on the same software because the 15 pro max is on iOS 18.1 whereas the 16 pro Max is on 18.0 so I definitely think that affected the result and which is why the 15 pro Max seems a bit faster.

The speed/performance difference is negligible ever since the iPhone 13 Pro Max.... definitely not worth the upgrade imo
Not worth the upgrade for opening apps as you say, as the differences are seconds, but there are many reasons why it is worth an upgrade from 13 Pro Max.

Im on a piece of scrap metal made in china in 2016 with a cracked screen and broken camera, it is only powerful enough to open whatsapp apart from the default apps. Should i upgrade?
