If Sharon is really dead, I'm gonna lose it on Agatha. She was peacefully working in her garden when Agatha swooped her up on her screw-up journey just to replace the Green Witch. AAAAND she's the MVP in this episode so far!😂😢😢
This show is great! Mrs. Ha, I mean Mrs. Davis, nooooooo! 😱😢 "The Ballad" tells us and the characters what will happen on the witches' Road. We just don't know exactly how it will happen. 🎶I stray not from the path I hold Death's hand in mine...🎶 Was that Death that Lilia saw in her hallucination? 🤔 Or did Sharon hold Death’s hand, so to speak, when she strayed from the path? And died because of it in the end even though we know she died because she didn't get her hair into the brew and didn't actually drink the potion... 🎶If one be gone, we carry on... Spirit as our guide....🎶 Is Sharon going to become a spirit guide now? Even if she has no knowledge of this magical place? 🤔 Rio probably shows up next episode since she's a green witch. 💁♀️
So I suspect we're going to get elemental-themed trials, with a skill focused on in each of them (potions) and quite possibly one of the traditional methods of killing witches highlighted (drowning, in this case). Given the vibe around Lorna Wu's appearance, I suspect Alice's protection will come into play with the fire trial. Also, I think Jen was using her craft to provide women the option to end unwanted pregnancies, and that's the work that Agatha considered too important to interrupt. If so, that dude was probably a doctor, of the sort who was refusing to give women that option, and took offense to her doing so. It's a conflict that's been associated with witchcraft for a long time, and a perfect subplot for this show. (Interestingly, in Penny Dreadful, Patty LuPone played just such a character as well.)
you on to something with the elements also correlate with the way witches can die like water-drowning fire-burning air- maybe hung as your feet aren’t touching the ground when you get hung earth-?😊
@@mattgaminggod3896 Yeah, either buried alive, or by "pressing" which was a torture method where they just kept piling heavier and heavier rocks up on top of the witch's body until they were killed by the pressure of the weight. Interestingly, Wanda's death is reminiscent of pressing.
Let's be honest: if you've got 4 witches and 1 muggle, all walking along a lethal magic road designed to test witches, and the muggle never even intended to be there... the muggle will die first. It'd be insane to turn out any other way.
Yo, hey show, hey yo, hey show, yo, hey, what? No. No. Hey, how ‘bout no? No, no. Don’t do that. That’s mean. We don’t do that. Don’t kill the muggle. I don’t like that. Not at all. Nope, don’t appreciate that. Don’t even- no, no. There are certain characters who should be okay. Lots of drama, but they make it okay. Nope. Nope.
I really liked form of trial. It shows, it's designed for each group specifically, so you literally can't prepare much. Whole idea of finding crazy witch ingredients in 'normal' house, just to realize, they are so obvious. It even include Teen, who basically just join them and isn't tested (for now, probably will need to face fears, if he want prize).
In the comics, Jennifer Kale has a few (in)famous friends. Three of them have already been introduced in the MCU. I wonder if they'll be showing up on the road in future episodes.
Yeah, I got the Sylvia Path joke and have to admit I liked it BECAUSE it's dark. Also, not convinced Sharon is permanently dead, though that may just be wishcasting.
The potion ingredient facts were fun! A lot of old recipes in alchemy and herbology books had esoteric names for plants, it could have been an early form of copyright protection or the books were written in a way that assumed the reader had prior training in the basics. Fun fact: recipes calling for Dragon's Blood are referring to the sap of the national tree of Yemen.
Watching this again with y'all, I keep coming across lines of foreshadowing: the WATER phase of the moon, when the place is later shown to be underwater; and "Bury me in that kitchen!" -- which is sort of what happens, since she pretty much dies there and never wakes up.
If I were in charge of the MCU I'd make sure Mephisto was never showed EVER just to provoke the people that come up with those crazy theories just for the LoLs
''Happened to a friend of mine once, she had a lovely house'' this line was probably my favorite this episode along with ''bury me in that kitchen!'' little did she know
I suspect what did in Sharon was either her hair wasn't used in the potion (They might have forgotten her since she was passed out), or, it's more likely the antidote did work, but Sharon also drank like, 3 Glasses of Poison as opposed to 1 singular glass like everyone else, so like, overdose issue. I have a feeling she'll be back tho.

My theory, Rio put the sigil on Teen because she knows who he actually is. He worked with her in episode 1 to pull Agatha out of Wanda's spell. She was in the interrogation vision and he was in the kitchen when she attacked Agatha. We also know from trailers, Rio shows back up along the road, probably because they need a green witch. Also I think we will find out Agatha never actually walked the road, she claimed she did to explain how she got her powers, but she actually sacrificed her child for them.

Rio probably shows up next episode since she's a green witch.
(Interestingly, in Penny Dreadful, Patty LuPone played just such a character as well.)
you on to something with the elements also correlate with the way witches can die
like water-drowning
fire-burning
air- maybe hung as your feet aren’t touching the ground when you get hung
earth-?😊
@@mattgaminggod3896earth - buried alive?
@@mattgaminggod3896 Yeah, either buried alive, or by "pressing" which was a torture method where they just kept piling heavier and heavier rocks up on top of the witch's body until they were killed by the pressure of the weight.
Interestingly, Wanda's death is reminiscent of pressing.

I'm so happy you guys did a fast review! you're my favs so i was waiting for it!
Let's be honest: if you've got 4 witches and 1 muggle, all walking along a lethal magic road designed to test witches, and the muggle never even intended to be there... the muggle will die first. It'd be insane to turn out any other way.
Green Witch?
"Hey, Dottie! Your roses are divine!"
"The devil's in the details, Bev."
She's on down the road.
Nope. Nope.
This is glorious!!!! Thank you! 😎
"IM WEARING THE WRONG SHIRT JAY", had me rolling xDDDDD
Ha! I live on Nantucket, and totally thought the house looked like any one of the beachfront mcmansions we've got scattered about!
14:13 - They actually did it. Her hair was not placed in the potion. She’s dead, and the song says that someone dies.
If I were in charge of the MCU I'd make sure Mephisto was never showed EVER just to provoke the people that come up with those crazy theories just for the LoLs
Honestly thought you boys would’ve named this one “Mephisto Confirmed” 😂 glad it finally happened! pReview’d was right all along!!
Jay: "Its a gingerbread house."
Hold that thought until the end.
So funny, Katherine Hahn gives me Missy vibes from Doctor Who.
They didn't use her hair, she wasn't in the hand-holding circle (if that was actually important) and I think they got to her too late anyway.
This is the ultimate Japanese gameshow, MXC times 1,000.
As a former English professor and writer, Jay, I must tell you, the Sylvia's Path joke made me so proud of the useless gotdamn MFA in creative writing!

I'm legit having so much fun with this show. I love its characters and energy so far. And it's just so dang fun! I can't wait for more.
I found Jay's "Plath" joke particularly Bell Jarring.
ten point for mrs heart was that a harry potter reference
My theory, Rio put the sigil on Teen because she knows who he actually is. He worked with her in episode 1 to pull Agatha out of Wanda's spell. She was in the interrogation vision and he was in the kitchen when she attacked Agatha. We also know from trailers, Rio shows back up along the road, probably because they need a green witch.
Also I think we will find out Agatha never actually walked the road, she claimed she did to explain how she got her powers, but she actually sacrificed her child for them.
I don't think they knew each other. It's wasn't clear that they both released her.
Green Witch?
"Hey, Dottie! Your roses are divine!"
"The devil's in the details, Bev."
She's on down the road.
And Teen is Billy/Wiccan.
@@themetalchica they kinda slammed our heads against the wall saying he's Agatha's son, Nicholas Scratch
@@hsmorg3640 the heavy handedness makes me think that's a red herring. Although I don't believe he's Billy either. how can he be, when this universe don't have the twins except for in the hex?
This episode confirmed a theory I had when the four elements were invoked in the ballad.
Potions Witch = Water
Clairvoyant Witch = Air
Protection Witch = Fire
Green Witch = Earth
Which should make Agatha the Spirit/Aether/Aksha/Quintessence point of the pentacle
I love this series the excitement for the show racing back the feelings that I had watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer back in the 90s
you are both so fun to watch!
5:58 I freaked out when she confirmed Mephisto and my dad was just looking at me blankly... he didn't dive into the theory videos like me when we watched Wanda Vision, and he doesn't remember my ramblings from three years ago, but I do, so yeah, I freaked out.
(Also if people reply to me, please don't spoil, I'm a uni student and I try to only watch MCU stuff with my dad so it's slow going. I watched as much as I could on my break but I've only watched till episode 5 and won't be able to see episode 6 till I go home for Christmas so in short, NO SPOILERS PLEASE😅)
I am purposely avoiding channels like New Rockstars for this show. I've been burned too many times from theory hype, I just want to enjoy the show and be open to whatever is coming
New Rockstars do love their sparkly mysteries, although I'm not sure their theory of Teen being 20,000 sentient beanie babies in a hollowed out human skin really holds water...
The moment I saw the house I thought 'weekend at bernie's'!
Was expecting to see a corpse with a moustache on the sofa 😋
This show is Double Dare for witches.
(( and I love it ))
Thanks to Jay and Adam! 🧙♀
Jay: "manage your expectations!!!"
Marvel about to confirm Mephisto: well 😉
Finallly Mephistopheles is actually confirmed!!!!!
Jay and Adam "it's a ginger bread house....."
If the stove fits......
Funny you mention the gingerbread house. Lilia says her old friend had a nice house and got oushed into an oven so she was friends with the witch from Hansel and Gretel!
When she sayed Mephisto I screamed and scared my cat who was on my lap. He won't look at me now 🥲
As soon as they name-dropped Mephisto, I knew yours was the first reaction I had to watch.
I wanted to go to bed, but then I saw that your reaction dropped and I really want to see your (and especially Jay's) reaction to this episode 😄
Adam speaking Judoon at the end there, lol.
Jeez, this episode got a lot darker than I was expecting. I was expecting just a fun witch movie like Hocus Pocus but this episode legitimately shocked me at points...😅
Go back and watch Wandavision - it gets really dark at times. Don't forget Agatha nearly choked the kids to death and White Vision nearly killed Wanda.
