    I am grappling with the challenges of selling my collage artwork. From withdrawing from art shows to the reluctance of parting with my creations, I have fears and doubts that have held me back from fully embracing my dream of being a full-time artist.
    In this video, I'll delve into the emotional complexities of being an artist, from the fear of failure to the struggle to let go of my art.
    I invite you to accompany me on my quest to confront my fears and take on the goal of selling my collage artwork with an art challenge I am giving myself
    Thanks for watching my video! - Lisa

    People saying they want to buy your art is different than selling it for the price you want. Many people do not value the time in original art.

    Beautiful! Every bit! New subscriber… hooked from the first video about art supplies, as I am currently decluttering and organizing my studio-office 💕 Thanks for sharing 🥰

    I’m no artist, but what I paint I can’t bring myself to part with! I’m really glad to hear I’m not alone in this!

    I am really enjoying your channel!!!!! So so much. And I am with you. I have never sold my art, but I think I would have such a hard time doing it. I have this one watercolor floral piece that I ADORE and I wanted to sumbit it to an exhibition, but they require you to put it up for sale if it is accepted. I was like Ohhhhhhhh Nooooooo!!!!!!! So I didn't submit!!!! I guess I could have just priced it really high but even then I didn't want it to sell! Lol!!!!! Not to mention, I have tried countless times to re-create that piece and I can't do it! It just never turns out with the same magic!

    So true we put our heart and soul sometimes blood sweat and tears 😢 but I always say to people if they ever decide for whatever reason they don't wathe art piece any more they have to give it back to me 😊 if I'm asked specifically to do a piece for someone I don't form the same attachment 😊

    This was great! Thank you for your honesty and vulnerability. And that video was gorgeous. Love your work too! But not asking to buy it 🙂

    Your art is beautiful. I would love to own a piece. I find it hard to part with some of my paintings, but I donate some to charity. Good luck with your journey.

    Your artwork is lovely and your dilemma relateable. I've liked the idea of doing limited runs of prints. Perhaps even special enhanced prints with extra embellishment or resin coating. The originals, I'll price at whatever price i would part with them for. Even if someone else might think it absurdity high..

    Luckily I'm not attached to my artworks, just the process. Plus I take pictures to reflect from time to time. I do however love collecting other artists' works and could never part from my collection.

      I think pictures are a really good idea. I could even make myself a photo album of my art over the years to have it all in one place. I think I could live with that…🤔

    I have shown my art, but state it’s not for sale. I consider making giclee prints to sell, but have no incentive.

    • @colorfulcollage
      @colorfulcollage  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That’s a good idea to show it, but not sell. Then you still get the feedback which I think is important for artists.

    I think I could have made it as a professional artist looking at my work as a 45 year old. Instead I chose to be a preschool teacher, and I was able to use all my artistic skills at once at times. Neat mediums your using.

    • @anitataraki5512
      @anitataraki5512 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If I took that route, of a professional artist, I don't think I would have done it using the internet like people today are doing but I think I still would have been a success. Your art is very tactile, I notice. And I don't think the best experience for you is online either, with that in mind. You know this is all fake anyway?

    Thanks for sharing. I feel the same about my art work. It is so special and personal, so difficult to part with. My bright idea is to hold a class on how to create the beautiful artwork. It’s like selling 6 pieces in one day if you have a class of 6 :) And you get to keep your own artwork to treasure. A win win situation, till you run out of space for your art lol I love your creative art pieces!

    • @colorfulcollage
      @colorfulcollage  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think that’s a wonderful idea. I know in other areas like quilting, courses and conferences are HUGE and instructors earn a good income from them. But…yes…it doesn’t solve the storage issue 😆
