In this video, I’m giving you a personal tour of my latest collection-a vibrant, colorful collage series that brings fantasy worlds to life through my unique artistic style! 🌈✨ This is a follow-up to my previous challenge where I committed to creating and selling 10 new artworks, inspired by my earlier video "Why I Don’t Want to Sell My Art." 🎨💡
Each piece is filled with whimsical dreamscapes made from scrapbook paper, hand-painted textures, and layered with vibrant color, all reflecting the joy and complexity of my collage technique. Every piece has its own story, and soon they’ll be available for purchase (before I change my mind and want to keep them all for myself 😅).
🔑 Watch as I reveal:
• How each piece came together and the inspiration behind it
• My creative process using handmade and painted papers
🌟 If you’ve been curious about my collage art journey or are interested in adding a colorful piece to your collection, this is the video for you! Don’t forget to check out the original challenge video and subscribe for more behind-the-scenes art content.

Just found yr channel….love, love, love yr art!!❤
Thank you! I’m looking forward to your next video on color theory.
I just discovered your channel literally a half hour ago. I’m a total newbie to cutting up paper collage. You’ve opened up a whole new world of possibilities for me. Move the paper not the scissors!!!! WHAT???!!! I’m 71, a lifelong artist and creative healer and having the time of my life. 🤩. You’re fantastic. Love your honesty and authentic energy. You’re perfect. ❤️ My motto since retiring has been “ if it ain’t fun I’m done”. Try it, it works. Having expectations can bring you to your knees when things don’t turn out like you thought they would. If you’re having fun, you’re doing it right.❤
Let go of expectations. Screw the analytics. If you’re not having fun… be done. Pivot to what makes you happy. 😃 ❤️
It's easier for people to buy art supplies, so they can feel like an artist, than to actually face the indecision, fear, and overwhelm that comes with actually creating art. People want the quick fix artist aesthetic, not the long term joy and satisfaction of creation. Plus the more people live online, the more they live in fantasy of what they're going to do, or who they're going to be, which they think justifies their hoarding. It's a mess.
I’ve always been told ( by old school professionals) to use YES paste. Will it hold up well?
I’ve only used it when applying watercolour paper to wooden cradle boards. I’ve noticed that sections of it come unstuck. I‘ve switched to art medium and will see how that holds up long term.
Beautiful work!
Thank you very much!
The best book I have ever read about self-sabotage is The Mountain Is You by Brianna Wiest. Her other book Pivot Year is also very good. Actually all her books are excellent. I love your college and really enjoy your You Tube videos. Don't quit, please.
Thanks! I’ll read it. 😊
Your videos are awesome will take them anyway you do them 😊❤
😊 thank you
Hello, I think this is the first video of yours that I’ve seen and just wanted to say how much i loved everything ❤ Subscribed I’ve been wanting to incorporate resin on my 3d-ish collages but I’m worried about yellowing. Have you ever noticed anything on your clear resin coated pieces?
Thanks for the sub! Yes all resin will yellow eventually. Some worse than others. There are videos on TH-cam that compare brands…but only in the short term (18months later?).
I am a new subscriber here, I am blown away by your authenticity and I believe we find inspiration when we need it the most. Like you I love paper, my happiest memories as a kid, were like you, at the library, or whenever I had a colouring book, some pencils, paper and glue. How funny it is that we come back to the most basic of supplies that made us happy. In a digital world, I am in awe of what is possible, but nothing beats cutting pieces of paper and making a collage. A few years ago I started doing this, just collaging on index cards, and these are my most treasured pieces, I feel so happy looking at them. Watching your video has made me realise that maybe the answer to what I love, and should be pursuing has been in front of me the whole time! 😊 A million Thank-you's and hugs for your honesty and helping me find my true joy ❤
I’m glad the video was helpful! Enjoy your artistic journey. ❤️
So fantastic, love the color and texture combinations, thank you for sharing 🌈
Thanks so much 😊
You are a super girl Lisa, so grounded and hard working. Enjoy your other work.
Thank you so much!
I am really enjoying your channel!!!!! So so much. And I am with you. I have never sold my art, but I think I would have such a hard time doing it. I have this one watercolor floral piece that I ADORE and I wanted to sumbit it to an exhibition, but they require you to put it up for sale if it is accepted. I was like Ohhhhhhhh Nooooooo!!!!!!! So I didn't submit!!!! I guess I could have just priced it really high but even then I didn't want it to sell! Lol!!!!! Not to mention, I have tried countless times to re-create that piece and I can't do it! It just never turns out with the same magic!
Sounds familiar! Nothing wrong with loving one’s own art. 🥰
Thanks!
Oh thank you, Susan! You’re the first person to financially support my art business (besides my parents 😉). I am very touched. ❤️
Lisa, Since you recently talked of quitting…I want to intervene, and say that I would be happy just to watch you work…anytime. No brilliant commentary required, but welcome. You are one of a kind.
This means a lot to me. Thank you! ❤️🤗
❤😍😻
🤗
Just love them all. So detailed, imaginative colors, and looking forward to seeing the resin added over them.
Me too! I’m working on them now. Can’t wait to show you how they turn out.
LOVE that you now have a newsletter! So fun to watch you showcase your newest pieces. I saw animals in some of your pieces - not surprising really as I'm all about animals - but it was interesting as I saw owl, whale, and peacock in three different pieces of yours. I sure hope you will be able to become a full time artist soon as our world needs more artists and beautiful spirits like you!! Can't wait to see your website!
So interesting that you see animals. I love that! Ahhhh the website…. It’s taking me forever mostly because I haven’t bitten the bullet of paying the higher price for an easy-to-build one. I’m about frustrated enough now to shell out the money soon though!!!
@@colorfulcollage totally understand!
So glad you posted again. I love these informal videos. Your authenticity comes through, and that’s so great to see in a creative. Your work is lovely. Keep it up!
Thank you so much. 😊
Really love your art... so imaginative and colourful. Pure joy 🎉 Can you tell me how the 6x6 paintings are framed? Do you add the resin after framing them?
They are glued into a cradle board that has raised sides- I think they are specifically made for resin art. I’ll pour the resin onto them after.
Beautiful works
Thank you so much 😊
Hey, life doesn't have to be that serious. Creating is all about fun. Have Fun!! and as long as you are having it, you are living a creatively fulfilled life. :)
Good advice
Thanks so much for this video, fascinating how creatives brains are wired differently and that this is what supports our practice, but also hinders it! Also really like the references to children's illustration from the 70's/80's - my era too! Keep up the great collages and video's x
You are so welcome!
This was very good for me. You're saying what I know is true about just get up and get started. The reward and undoing self sabotage is a body of work you can be proud of. My current excuses is that I need to clean out and organize. When I start, I end up sitting down and start creating. It's kind of backwards but I've let it go for so long, I feel like I can clean out, organize AND create at the same time. It helps to have a few days off in a row from my job to divide it out. I'm feeling better since I've sketched a little in the past couple of weeks. I need to go there. I'm kind of in three separate cars on a race track, getting to the finish line at the same time. ❤
I love this! I also am a decluttering procrastinator…but it never ends in art, just exhaustion. But, also a high from the clean spaces.😁
I have recently discover gouache, I am loving the depth of colour with them, this journey was so interesting, I have been all over the place for 20 years with my art, seemingly with no cohesion, I am going to look back over my work and see if there are any links or themes to go forward with
Wonderful idea. Yes, gouache was a game changer for me too. ☺️
we all feel like this and I think we have been mis-sold a lie about the numbers, and the amount of viewers, it doesn't matter if our videos reach and change the life of just one person, this is amazing, I don't even see the analytics, I have no interest in them. I procrastinate so much, each day I wake with a creative to do list of ideas and each night I am lucky if I have done 1 thing!
Yes we only have so much time in a day and so many responsibilities.
Probably one of the best videos I have stumbled across. Thank you for your candour and encouragement. I refuse to let YT analytics dictate to me. I do videos because I love it. And that's all that matters. So keep on going and keep sharing. We need more videos such as this. And - your art is stunning!
Awe thank you! What a lovely comment. You made my day! 🤗
I am with you. My instinct to share my art and my process has basically led me to not enjoy creating anymore. When I did on Instagram, nothing. When I do it on TH-cam, nothing. I know it takes consistency but I feel like the self doubt will just eat me alive before I ever get "there". And I am not even trying to do it for money. I just feel the desire to find a community to share what I do with. it doesn't have to be huge!!!! I don't need to monetize my hobby, but still.....regardless of that, putting myself out there to receive nothing back just defeats me. I am at the point where I don't even want to create art right now because every time I do, I get excited and want to start sharing again, which leads me down the self doubt rabbit hole and each time it gets harder to pull myself out. This is a vicious cycle I can't seem to escape. Thanks for being vulnerable and sharing this video. Really great video!
Thank you for sharing. Social media is really a problem for creative people if we play into their game…which you almost have to in order to win their game. I need to think more about this.
Don’t quit! But please do stop quoting Jordan Peterson.
Thanks for the encouragement ❤️
Lisa - I just discovered your channel yesterday and I think I have already watched all of your videos. I love your art so much and hope to be able to purchase some when I have more disposable income.
I love this video! I relate so much to this. I am also almost 50 and have been so hard on myself and my art since I got back into it approximately 10 years ago. This is inspiring! Thank you ❤
Thanks for sharing!!
Lisa! I love your videos. And THIS is my favorite one EVER. When I saw the title I thought, “oh no, my favorite youtubist might bail? “ so bc I love ur content already, I watched it. It was SO MUCH MORE than I expected, based on that title. You put together a video that perfectly sums up something so common in creative people, that so many artist can relate to. And in that commonality, there is ENCOURAGEMENT. I WANT ALL my creative friends to watch your video! Thank you so much for presenting meaningful content in such an easy to digest way. Also, your skin is flawless!
Thank you for your support and the lovely compliments. 🤗
Exactly what I needed right now! Grateful.
Glad it helped!
So true we put our heart and soul sometimes blood sweat and tears 😢 but I always say to people if they ever decide for whatever reason they don't wathe art piece any more they have to give it back to me 😊 if I'm asked specifically to do a piece for someone I don't form the same attachment 😊
❤️
I don't think any of us is where we thought we'd be. Reality intervenes in our dreams without fail. I'm 70 and have only recently started playing with art like collage, monoprinting, water colour. I've been knitting, crocheting and sewing since I was pre-teens, taught by my Nana and Mum, but this new world is exciting to me. Despite my excitement I still hesitate to make art because I doubt my ability. Intellectually I KNOW it doesn't matter if it's not good, as nobody else needs to see my messes, BUT emotionally I get disappointed with my, very human, self. I still plough on because I'm having fun
Great video very helpful 😊
Glad it was helpful!
Fabulous video 🎉 your videos are so intelligent and informative I love them ❤️ and you also make them fun and entertaining 😀 😊
Thank you so much!!
I really enjoy your videos Lisa. They're inspiring and I really love the practical ideas 😘
Thank you so much!
I was just thinking about the importance of color palettes. Wonderful video thank you for the cool links too.
You are so welcome!
Thank you so much for this video. I think artists of every kind are highly sensitive people and this explains a lot about what's going on with me. I really appreciate this ... not going on You Tube though, but never say never. Thank you for saying art has a spirit! I believe that too. Linda H
You're so welcome!

Wonderful approach. ❤️
Beautiful piece! I want to see a flip through of that journal or others. I love your style.
Thank you!
Excellent video!
Thank you very much!
We are created beings so when we create, we are being just like our Creator. A privilege and Wonderous.
I agree. 😊
Interesting take on a complex issue. Disagree with Seinfeld though on work being the antidote as well as a lack of discipline. As someone who suffers from depression and being creative (btw, I don't like the term highly creative, you are either creative or not,...I digress), I take exception to someone who says "just work" and you "have no discipline". Pfft. I think most of your issues come from having a TH-cam full stop. IMHO, you become a slave to it and it just kills the joy. So step away from social media and do what makes you happy. I did this and now I rarely post, and it's liberating. If you want to teach, run in person courses, they'll be more fullfilling.
Yes it would be liberating not to do TH-cam that’s for sure. Thanks for your input. 😊
The struggle is real. Have you read Elizabeth Gilbert’s “Big Magic”? She would tell you your creativity doesn’t owe you an income.
Yes I’ve read it. Good advice.
I just found your channel and this was the first of your videos I have watched.... the world does work in mysterious ways!! I have really been on a downward spiral this week and your words hit me right where I needed it. Deep down I assume my mojo will return.... it always has before! But when you are in that trough, it is hard to see over the top. Hang in there, girl. I loved the collage you did on the video. Now going back to check out your past work... and I will be looking out for the next one. Big hugs and a gentle nudge to keep going 😊
Here’s to the brighter days and not giving up? 🤗
Hi Lisa, great conversation. All so true. We all go through these ups and downs, doubting our creativity, then coming up with the next great idea, hopefully masterpiece. I appreciate you, thank you for sharing. Do not stop for anyone!
Thanks for your support! 🤗
The TH-cam statistics are very discouraging in my opinion. Before starting TH-cam I already worked for myself as an artist, and I started creating video's as a creative outlet, without a plan to add to my income with the video's. But it can be very tempting to want to try and earn more money creating video's - it's a disappointing game. As soon as I attach money or amount of views to the outcome of my video's, the fun is out of it for me. I now try to see it as a hobby - to upload not more than 1-2 video's a month and let my income be through my art. The added bonus of TH-cam is that it does create leads for your webshop etc. But when wanting to really create a full income with TH-cam, I think I'd have to post weekly and the attention would be moved away from the essence of my art and towards creating video after video. Which is not something I could sustain.
I agree 💯. Its true the more time I spend making videos the less art I’m making. Thanks for your thoughts. 😊
