Thank you for posting this. I’m Cherry from South Yorkshire in the UK and am about to embark on a journey of art. Better late than never as I’m 69 in 3 weeks!
Hi, I am from the USA, 59 years on the planet 🌎🎨🤓🖌️ I have dabbled in various mediums and art techniques. I have learned by observation more than anything. I love the way abstract art can instinctively come freely from with in.
Fortunately age is no barrier to art, 64 this year and about to pursue an art career. Loving painting and getting better slowly. Key is pick up a brush and paint! TH-cam is great but good art also comes when you let go and have fun. I try to remembering five and loving painting with very mucky fingers🤓
Love this 😍 I was feeling too old at 47. I studied art degree but I really want to have art as a career now. You give me inspiration all the best x I’m in York
This is the first video I’ve seen John in. He is so funny. I will definitely not let my neighbor steal my collage papers. lol. I’ve learned so much from your whole family. Excited to take the classes! I’m expecting to learn so much more!
I thought this was a collaboration ~ I love how he didn't tell her what to do, but she sure loves to tell him how to paint his portion. Anyhow, the result is very beautiful.
I became a painter because I became bedridden (health issues). And I discovered my true calling, what a blessing 🙏🏼 Because of this couple my husband told me he wants to paint with me a piece for fun. What a synergy between you two. Thank you for sharing your love and appreciation of the divine. 💎💎💎💎
❤️ fab painting! Im only just getting back to my art after many years break but I find Im more interested in Abstract and loose line work than I was back in Art college, but Im "playing to fix my soul" this time around as before I was very tight into trying to get that percieved realistic perfection, they used to sell but oh the stress of those commissions! Then I went to Art College where I did Fine Art and they tried their hardest to get me into Abstract and loose line work but 25 years ago they couldnt convince me...as Ive grown older with a 20 year break I now find Im driven towards Freedom. ❤️
Thanks much for sharing, I love it. John is fun, funny, and extremely knowledgeable. Please do more shows with John. We love him and you too, Elli. Guys go with force of color and forms, the eternal primordial powers.
❤ I've been checking out your videos since I saw Elli do a talk on how to gain advantages over others, which was so interesting and inspired me to cocmpletely change my mindset about my art. Artist all my life with many skills and lots of work. This is the first full workshop video I watched start to finish. I love hearing Elli talk about art, and it was so interesting to meet John for the first time
Loving this. I’m 78 and I’ve gone completely stale and out of touch even though I’ve been painting since I was 12, in all the medias and taken workshops, and been involved actively, with a few large art clubs….i just got “done” last year or so. I’m excited to try something like this! Thank you so much for the brand new style to try. Gorgeous. Exciting thank you.
Thank you is so gratifying seeing your work. So inspiring. I was lost . Want to stop painting. But after I saw your work I took one class with Dimitra , it was the floral one. My love for art has reborn. Thank you . Salete from Kelowna, Canada
Enjoying this program. I joined and are in the waiting list for Mastery Program. Art has always been part of me, but served in the Navy, got my degree, joined Customs and did 27 years, got my Master Degree in Education and taught in high schools for 10 years. Now I am retired and want to really become the artist I can be. I am excited about this new journey I am taking with you guys.
Thank you! I am enrolled in the Mastery program and it exceeds my wildest dreams. I broke my ankle and ended up months on my back. I needed a creative outlet and found you guys. That was the best broken bone experience ever. It changed my life. I can personally vouch for the program. It does everything it says it does and more and if you have always dreamed offing a really good artist, this program will provide you the tools and techniques you need to be a fully rounded artist super steeped in the fundamentals so you can go in any direction you want to.
From South Africa, this is the first abstract I have watched and I love it. I have watched Dimitri's beautiful work as well.....thank you for all the wonderful knowledge you have shared. Blessings.
I have tried some years ago to study Abstract WELL I got NOwhere and almost hated Abstract but Eli you have answered so much more than I learned over 2 years and several Tutors So thank yiu very much 😊❤ this is the first free class I have had with you THANKyou Eli
I am a scad student from the 90s and I love how you fill in the gaps that were never taught there at that time period. I love painting and failed a painting class there too lol
Aaaah! I love u2! Looking at your work makes me want to sing an opera note! Ecstasy! Thankyou so much for all you are and all you do, so much generosity!!
Wow! Fantastically beautiful... This is my first time of seeing program art like this. I came online and I just met you guys coincidentally. I am really happy I didn't miss this opportunity because I got alot from this. I most say Thanks. I am watching you from Nigeria.
First, I love how you collaborate. Second, I love your method. Finally, I absolutely love this abstract! It took me 3 months to paint my one and only abstract. For everyone who says, “My 5-year-old could do that”… probably easier than an adult, but much harder than you might think… composition, color, balance… everything that they don’t realize.
Although if you call a painting an abstract it should still represent something not just lines and lots of bright and dark colours to get composition and depth
I am watching you guys from Jos, Nigeria. Right now. I most admit... this my 5th times I am watching your videos. I just developed like for what you are doing. It's really encouraging. Thanks
Thank you so much, I have learned so much. I have been painting since the age of 2 and I am 61 now. I am always keen to learn more. Wish I could do the mastery program though...thank you for all the tips we can learn from you. You are a wonderful family. I am inspired!
I'm so excited. I feel I've wasted my whole life by not "being" an artist. It was all I wanted to do when I was little and I had talent, won prizes. But my parents beat it out of me... Artists starve! So I became a nurse. :/ Now I am almost 65 and thrilled to have found you! And you are just like me, not stuffy and polished but delightfully down to earth and even a little bit geeky. Lol. I love that! And I will probably sign up for your master class. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! ❤🙌🏻🙄😘
@@harveydagpin3515 Good for us!!! I have been back to drawing and painting now (some of it using digital online assistance (what fun!) now for about a month. I even have an etsy shop. Haven't sold anything yet. Lol. But it's like my online portfolio. So fun! See HappyDogMugsnMore
I have already bought the book right now🤗. Thank you so much💌. I watched all of your presentations, and nobody could be comparable with you. I am so glad my friend told me about you. Love all of your talented, beautiful family. ❤
My first time watching you from Bethesda Maryland. You inspired me to try some spray paint with number stencils and freehand scribbles. It elevated the areas of interest immediately. Loved that!
Hi to you ow! This have been a wonderful workshop. Before watching Mr Milan video about creativity and all the mistreating analogies and warm words This was at the top of the mountain for me. Thank you for showing the creation and the process behind that beautiful abstract concept or painting. Thank you from a cocreator in my way to indulge my self in this wonderful work of making art for my self and others to admire. My hats up for you guys. I’m going to take back my membership in the club again Thank you from the bottom of my hearth and soul that is singling in front of a canvas again. Thank you so very much.
Hi. From south Africa. 70 and just picking up on my art again after many, many years. Thanks for awesome videos, very informative, and different from the rest.
Thank you so much for this - I have never really thought about abstract, but I have thoroughly enjoyed watching this and I'm now excited to go and experiment
I accidentally stumbled into this video and found it super helpful and informative. As someone who does art more on the realism side, but always wanted to do abstract, this is one of the first vids I've found that actually explain it properly (that makes sense to me anyway) Thanks so much!
I love it! It’s funny how you go through stages of really liking it, thinking you should put your brush down, but you add more, then not liking it, and then coming to another phase, and loving it! knowing when to quit is one of the hardest decisions! 😁
I CALL IT *THE FINISHING TOUCHES* SYNDROME,,,~,SOMETIMES WE GOT TO KNOW WHEN WE NEED TO LEAVE IT ALONE,,,LOL!! (PS, IM SORRY FOR CAPS-LOCK ARE STUCK, IMMA NOT SHOUTING!!)
♥...first time discovering the Milan team. Great stuff. I have taken a little side step from arcylic to learn/work with pastels, and doing more realism, but this is perfect to inspire me to get back into arcylics!
I don’t do much with acrylics, but I saw some videos saying that thinning them with water as a base breaks down the bonds in the paint too much and it won’t stay adhered to the canvas for a long time. ???
Thank you. I found useful information in this workshop as an experienced artist and illustrator. Like… be careful of dealers. The spray paint info. As well as the other nontoxic choices. As well as hearing the encouragement to work more often in oils… and finish the edges for a more professional look. My paintings are collage and acrylic mixed media… as well as watercolor, colored pencil…and many illustrations in just ink. Sincerely, Janet
❤first one for me…loved it…so down to earth…and I’ve been painting for over 50 years. I’m 74.😘😁
Thank you for posting this. I’m Cherry from South Yorkshire in the UK and am about to embark on a journey of art. Better late than never as I’m 69 in 3 weeks!

O my goodness, just love this teaching, thank you so much, learned a lot
❤ I'm on the verge of tears right now...I feel like I have finally come home after 10 years of stumbling around in the dark. Thankyou from Australia
❤I listened to artist interviews, but this is the first workshop! Love it!
This is the first video I’ve seen John in. He is so funny. I will definitely not let my neighbor steal my collage papers. lol.
I’ve learned so much from your whole family. Excited to take the classes! I’m expecting to learn so much more!
John really is a treasure!
he's so fun, so is the other hubby, lol I live for their input😂
❤ First art workshop ever. I did watch the 13 artist that competed on the outstanding artist! It was awesome!
I thought this was a collaboration ~ I love how he didn't tell her what to do, but she sure loves to tell him how to paint his portion. Anyhow, the result is very beautiful.

My first, Thank You, you communicate so well, and the two of you show how an artist can feel, I appreciate this!
Thanks much for sharing, I love it. John is fun, funny, and extremely knowledgeable. Please do more shows with John. We love him and you too, Elli. Guys go with force of color and forms, the eternal primordial powers.
John should record some artist meditations, his voice is very calming and chill.
Haha, we love that suggestion! ❤️ He really does have a calming voice, doesn't he? 😁
I learned so much today, Thank you again

I love abstract art because is so much fun easy and we can be child like❤️

I liked the dark contrast that was on the left added a good dramatic contrast. John works in a very intuitive way.
This painting is simply gorgeous! I would love to have it hanging in my home! Also, I love John’s sweet, gentle and fun loving vibe he brings.
Your explanations, suggestions and advice is extremely helpful and valuable.

I think it looks like a city seen through clouds wonderful x
This is the first for me. No sure if this is my style, but can extract what I do like.
How do you varnish a painting with mixed media like oil pastel, acrylic and oil? Do you spray varnish? What brand do you recommend?
Thank you very much, I love it. Will look for more.... 60 years old, watching from Germany and always painting or sketching
First free workshop and I loved it
I don’t do much with acrylics, but I saw some videos saying that thinning them with water as a base breaks down the bonds in the paint too much and it won’t stay adhered to the canvas for a long time. ???
Ratio no more than 10% water
