Some people may not like the art direction in the Anniversary edition, but as far as a "remaster" goes, they put a hell of a lot of effort in it. Brand new animations and timings for cutscenes, new models, new lighting, AND the fact that you can switch back to the original graphics on the fly. If you didn't like the remaster, the original is right there. You don't even have to go back to the main menu. I mean, considering what counts as a "remaster" nowadays in 2021, I think this game wasn't too bad.
finally an intelligent comment about it. i have the right to appreciate this remaster, as much as i like the other games. i recognize there's some discussable direction here and there, but it's not as bad as Warcraft reforged or the one of Medal of honor Frontline, or the one of XIII
I honestly think Halo 2 remaster is much better they used new tech and hardware to enhance original art direction instead of completly change it to in my opinion less interesting or just bad in some levels and H2 have amazing Blur cutscenes.
finally a comment made by someone smarter. the old fanboys of bungie halo games represents the worst side of the community , they give a bad image of halo. i agree there's some discussable details in that remaster but it wasn't too dramatic. yeah i would change some details , like the models of marines and the lightnings in some levels but that's all. Warcraft Reforged was much worse as a remaster.
I can’t quite pinpoint it, but the way the motion capture was done makes the characters seem super relaxed with their limbs. Every movement has a rocking or wobbling motion to it. Halo Reach was motion captured too, but that seemed so much more natural. I’d love to know what they did differently there vs here.
I think I know what you mean. Like when Master Chief turns around to 343 Guilty Spark and says "Is it true?" at 26:30, it looks like he's saying "sup".
@@emodante1084 at first I thought that as well, until I looked for the comparison lol. I also watched a video reviewing Anniversary and the reviewer mentioned the mocapping, which made me realise "this isn't the original then, is it?"
@@DangerousPancake Overacted? Really? Can you point out in which scenes they are "overacted", because in my eyes, the original was the one who had to "overact" the character movements, because they couldn't capture the subtle body motions and languages that a mocap performance can. They had to exaggerate certain body movements to get the same effect sometimes. 14:15 For example, just look at how Chief had to turn his whole body too look around as opposed to just casually looking around in the remaster.
I prefer older animations, the darker atmosphere, and the graphics in general. I don’t feel like these graphics worked well for CEA, They feel kinda mod like and messy.
Although the remaster did take away some of the lvls. I liked it. guilty spark looked like a jungle just wish it was darker and it made everything look realistic cant throw shade at them to much just be glad there was a remaster guys.🤔 and yeah Cortana could be the same just improved ay but I still go back and forth between classic and remaster still till this day. Even better I have skins for weapons and vehicles in classic now so cut them some slack 👌
I prefer Halo combat evolved classic 343 made 343 guilty spark mission bright and then they made Halo mission bright orange I didn't like that and to the mission library it's too bright the funny part is those levels are not meant to be bright bungie wants to make them dark and atmospheric
I really hate how for the pilot piloting the escape pod with Master chief and other marines they used a marine suit from halo 3 instead of making a whole new suit for her. Really 343?
If you rescue the last of the 3 squads on the mission Halo in a different orders it will give you a unique cutscene of leaving the mission from the last location you rescued a squad.

I agree. And on 360 it had voice commands and you could scan things into a database
This remaster, unlike most other "remasters", is actually a true remaster, unlike those upscaled ports being branded as remasters.

En lo particular me gusta más el lenguaje corporal del original y leyendo tu comentario tienes razon
I wonder if they used mo-cap for the Anniversary animations. They feel so much more lifelike compared to the original
They did. At times it works, at times it's very overacted. The scenes with the grunts work the most imo
@@DangerousPancake Interesting. I thought they were justcusing the same animations.

Old Cortana's animations and facial expressions were actually way better. Especially in the opening scene. Guess they ran out of money.
Her animations were not mo capped in the remaster, odd I know.
I'm a fan of the series Halo
Halo Original vs Anniversary never made me disappointed
Yeah, CEA is awesome
When the original is miles ahead in atmosphere.
The halo 1 was truly a masterpiece, the story, the gameplay, the music, all of it was impeccable
Anniversary is way too bright, kills the ambiance of the darker/shadowy areas of the original. They also over designed the structures.
Definitely. Original vs anniversary are 2 different games ambiance wise.
i agree but the outdoor were nice
Why would captain keyes be wearing his uniform in a battle situation? 19:29
Cortana just dry cleaned it for him and he wanted to look spiffy.
he didn't exactly have time to change.
Boring reason, but I get it.
Makes him recognizable.
@@eagle219406then why is he in military gear on classic?
He was taken hostage & before Keyes crashed the POS in the Halo, he didnt really have the time to change 😂

stupid old fanboyism.
Sad it wasn't Sgt.Johnson going "what we will let them have is a belly full pf lead and a pool of their own blood to drown in, am I right Marines?"
Wait they removed it?
@@1oftheben798 no, he just only recorded on of many lines he'll say
I got all his different lines for his briefing here. Changes depending on the difficulty you play.

He only says that on Legendary Difficulty
Right from the start, I prefer how the original opens on the ring instead of the Pillar of Autumn.
Instead of making a new Cortana they just copied the halo 3 one
The game was made 10 years ago. Tell us something we don’t know.
Yeah that pissed me off there. Could have just give us that classic ass purple short hair look but with modern technology.
@@ARuiz-eu3hk ya
It was for Continuity purposes.
r=they were pressured by Microsoft
This Dustin Echoes guy must be a badass
Im suprised they didn’t do this style of switching in remaster to original in Crash Bandicoot
How did you get the subtitles in the original. I played the original format and it didn't have them.

Halo demo 😂

What about the cinematic? Or was that the only CE version? (Collectors Edition)
The reason the original was done the way it was, was due to technological limitations. It had nothing to do with mood.
Wow. How can a sentence like that even be said. It's baffling. Shame on you.
X: Doubt
him got tiny little hands
Me quedo con el lenguaje corporal del master chief en el juego original :V

Absolutely atrocious remaster.
Remastered by Xbox 360
I prefer the anniversary
