My son who is now 16 has "grew up" at SDC. He was the kid that gave you snacks when you robbed the train. One thing he always has to do when we are there is ride the train, even at being 16. He wants to work at SDC and drive the train when he's old enough.
Thank you for adding this!! I love cab views!! These guys are truly masters of their craft as it isn't easy to do so watching Icahbod doing his thing is actually hypnotizing! Hope when I head there around May or so, I can be picked to yell all aboard "HEY ICHABOD!! GET THIS TRAIN GOING!"
I’m glad the volume was loud. I have my ear buds in and my wife is talking to one of her girlfriends on the phone who doesn’t wear her hearing aids. My wife has to repeat everything 2-3 times!
The steam train is my favorite ride in the park I ride the train more then any other ride the frisco dollar line is so amazing the crew Andrew dean Seth Baldwin noah S Bentley Trevor and the rest of the crew take good care of all 5 steam engines I am so proud of those guys they work hard to keep the dream live Form your friend Ross shimer
I wonder if she's anything like our Alco's we have at the road I work currently. Bear in mind, they may be diesels, but still, like a charm, the minute you open up the throttle after brake release, they do very little to hesitate in getting rolling.
This is what I was waitng to see from you! Amazing! Also, have your ever considered taking the "behind the magic of our steam trains" tour at WDW? Not that you would be able to this year probably with the railroad down.
I would love to be a Train Engineer at Sliver Dollar City. But I live too far away from Sliver Dollar City. I would like to meet you I'm going to be at Sliver Dollar City me and my family are going to be there soon on the September 3 We have not been going for six years so it's a about time to be going to Sliver Dollar City.
hehe, shoving the camera in the engine isn't an option for numerous reasons, including safety. This was done when I was given a special privilege by SDC to film behind the scenes in the round house and around the train. It is absolutely not normally done and only done in this case with permission.
Great video! Part of my question was answered about how you were able to get an exclusive ride. Was this a test run operation, and if so does SDC do this each day before putting the train in operation? Thanks again!
The engineer reminds me of a talented juggler... he's doing many, many things at once and makes it look effortless! 👍
Excellent video! It’s a great way to show the public what we do everyday to keep the train running.
thank you. and why didn't I know you had a channel?
Great video. Thanks.
Love the video. Thanks for doing it.
Wow! Our son Matthew will watch this over and over...thanks, Sir WIllow!
Nothing like the sound of a steamer working hard, love the video :)
Great video! I was looking for a video from the engine and you have it. Thank you👍
It must take a lot of practice at first to get that thing to stop where it is supposed to! What a fun ride!
Awesome Cab ride of engine 14 and I can see the Hill In your intro of the train

Is that the Milwaukee Road 3 chime on engine 14?
it was a Hancock 3 Chime, short bell
This is so cool and I though you was going to shove your camera in the engine

@@SirWillow yes my brain is stupid sometime even though my mom say I think outside the box
Shoving the camera in the firebox would melt it. Putting it in the boiler isn’t physically possible

Nice
Did they Determine what caused the Train to overturn in October of 2022?
It's going to be a while before there's any conclusion on that. I would expect December at the earliest, and very possibly next year.
Basic track maintenance and strong railroad ethic can keep a train on the rail at those crawling speeds
