I love it too. Looked more comic accurated to his first appereances where he wasn't giant like Venom these days. Originally Venom didn't gain any size but was just size of Eddie Brock.

Tbh all this time, he doesn't talk about it much, and has said that he probably won't come back in the past, and I've always kinda felt like it was because of this. Like, he LOVED this character and it was a passion, and it was chewed up and spit out, and I can't imagine how devastating that would be.
I love how much of a clash that is with Andrew. When Andrew was cast to play spider-man he said "you realize the suit isn't yours, you're just wearing it. The character still belongs to the fans".

He looked at the script and agreed to play a short one-off Venom though.

That's the thing, Raimi was using the least amount of CGI. He preferred real-life acting. Ofc it wasn't always possible to apply.
If Doc Ock, Goblin, Sandman can return this venom should return also.This venom played by topher grace I actually find the essence of devil whereas the one with tom hardy seems very funny. It can give tough fight to Tom Holland
This version isn’t comic accurate at all when Tom Hardy’s is just without the connection with Spider-Man.. Venom isn’t just a cold blooded devil menace. He has a personality

I get that Venom was a studio inclusion because of Avi Arad and with Sam already doing Sandman mostly, it was hard to put him in the original story Sam had planned. So with rewrites and reworks, Venom was included. But that of course came with problems of its own with the reception of the movie, Topher and just Venom all together.
Spider-Man 3 has a weird place in my heart. Back then I loved it because I was a lil kid enjoying my favorite hero on the big screen, but as the years progressed I became so much more critical of it. Now though, I’ve grown to appreciate it and what it brought.
This Venom actually scared me more than any adaptation we’ve gotten so far. I remember having nightmares for like two nights after watching this movie because of the design and sounds of Venom which were done fantastically to make him really Alien. It’s a shame we’ll never see the REAL Venom Sam Raimi wanted for this movie that included a Venom LITERALLY tearing at Eddie Brock, ripping his skin and flesh off as he became more parasitic and alien as well as the original ending with there being a venom skull after he and Eddie died
This film has a lot of potential, but the big problem is that everything was "optimized", and so they ended up cutting out interesting things. When Sony re-released the Spider-Man films, I thought they would add scenes that were cut at the time, but no, they missed an opportunity to improve the film
Some people hate Spider-Man 3 but they don't know Avi Arad is to blame hate he should have left Sam's script alone and let Sam do his original plans with Sandman and Harry Osborne Side Story finally being completed with his death because of the Venom in it caused Harry to be sidelined

This movie is my favorite movie cuz of the villains only and the reunion of Harry and Peter. Venom looks more like a horror villian than an ordinary villian
this venom is actually more scary looking than the Tom Hardy version.. more dark and I will begging for more from this 2007 version.. Tom hardy version is quite funny and ridiculous at the same time, will be a good partner with Deadpool

I dislike him because he lacks being scary, terrifying or serious which is a very important part of his character, and overall he is too goofy which is very annoying. Ugh!
People can say what they want about Spider-Man 3, it’s my favorite installment in terms of storyline and action.

Spider-Man 2 is better. The third one isn't bad, it's a film with potential, but it was very messy, that's why many don't like it.

I think topher grace should be from Spiderman 1 to build his personality as Eddie Brock, like animated series and then if was supposed to be in that movie he'll have his traumatic experience character

The anamatronic is in the movie for a couple of scenes.
That death should have been in the film, but I understand why they didn't put it in.

This Venom deserve to be a main Villian like the Green Goblin or Doc Ock was. I mean this Venom would be a real menace to Peter and all People of NYC. Peter's spidersenses didn't work against Venom.

This movie is a masterpiece, curse all the haters for taking spiderman 4 away. Even with raimi not wanting to do venom, you could see he was still putting his all into the character. As well as Topher grace being super excited for the role, he must've been heartbroken to see all the lashback from fans in 2007. He's not the comic accurate build, but he's the perfect yin-yang to parker in the raimi movies.

Absolutely the best Spider-Man movie of all time. Slightly biased because I grew up with Tobey Maguire😀Even to this day, from time to time, I rewatch the whole Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy. Never gets old 🖤
Truly the most underrated and most unappreciated villain in Marvel cinematic history. There's no way you can convince that Tom Hardy's adaptation was better in capturing the essence of Venom. You can't have a Venom w/o any tides to Peter Parker. Sony dropped the ball again and Hardy is a heck of a talent, just was just doomed from the start unfortunately due to terrible storytelling. Topher's Venom was robbed due to lack of screen time, just like Leto's Joker. This Venom was an absolute masterclass and would thrive nowadays if it was brought back somehow.
We need the theatrical cut and deleted scenes released

I really enjoyed every bit of computer work how you made venom into a a great villain. I did not know he wore wires down at Eddie Brock.
Ahh yes 12 year old me watching this in theater and had the shit scared out of me with this venom. The squeals and screams of venom and that jump scare where venom drops down above Peter and picks him up by his head terrified me 😂 just wish his voice was a little bit deeper and maybe a little more muscular and it would have been perfect. And more screen time. Venom is in my top 3 Spider-Man villain list. Along side goblin and doc ock

Topher was great bc he and Toby share similar traits. Both kinda of nerdy, goofy, but topher brought some swagger and cockiness to his character while also believing that this Eddie also got bullied and picked on in highschool.

I prefer the symbiote animations in Spider-Man 3 to the venom movies. The ones in the venom movies aren’t bad but they look too much like black water and here it actually looks like living sludge.

This movies critics were so weird. I mean the movie wasn’t the best, but it was still awesome.
So much work involved and attention to the Venom design details, I love it. That being said, there are a few details missing with this Venom. Obviously the size difference compared to Spider-Man, the menacing deep voice, and the way he talks(we instead of I). The size difference I could look past that for this version, but as for the other two I don’t know why they chose to ignore them.

I really loved the face of venom 2007 and the attitude the aggression… the only thing that made me disappointed is the screen time and that he is like the same size as Peter. But still better than Tom Hardy’s comedian clown venom. This one was just a monster 👹
Originally Venom wasn't 8 foot monster like modern versions. Originally he was just size of Eddie Brock. Sure Eddie Brock was bigger and more buff than Peter but he wasn't 8 foot giant like Venom is these days.

I cant help but think of ' The Mask ' (1994). Venom is essentially playing the same role as the mask. We also see in that film what happens when power gets in the wrong hands. Peter Parker = Stanley Ipkiss & Eddie Brock = Dorian Tyrell.
As a kid I liked it, but I also liked SW Attack of the Clones too. It wasnt until I grew up and noticed how *flawed* it all was. Sometimes nostalgia can really blind you from that.

I loved everything about Venom in this movie. I just wished they built the whole movie around him from the ground up, rathen than sticking him in arbitrarily to please the studio execs.
I feel like this should’ve been one of the first times they made a 2 part movie.

The only reason this design works is because this Eddie Brock is meant to act as a foil to Peter, all around an excellent interpretation of the character when you examine the context of the film he appears in.
Granted this Venom is too skinny compared to the comic book, but the CGI and make-up still hole up very nicely to this day.
Imagine if the symbiote attached itself to a person like avi Arad.....

That last part is untrue. Sam DID want to make Spider-Man 4 but Sony wouldn't let him do it his own way so it never made it past storyboards

Avi Arad saved Spider-Man 3, he understands venom more than Song itself does that’s why he put him in the 3rd spider-man film because he’s been reading comic books since before you were born
The movie was always going to have three villains. Vulture was the original one but Sam didn't like how he felt so disconnected, they threw the idea of Venom in and after the draft was written he liked it and was on board. Stop spreading false information.
Vulture was supposed to be third antagonist in the movie. If I'm not mistaken, the whole "Peter let Spider-Man popularity get in his head" was always part of the plot, same with making Flint the man responsible for Ben's death. Avi Arad pushed for Venom because of his popularity and Raimi didn't want Venom because at the time, and yes, I know he "clarified" it, but he was adamant about how he hated the character. Anyway, aside from being forced to include Venom, any misstep the movie had was on Raimi as he did the script. I like the movie, by the way, but there are things that could've been better. As for Spider-Man 4, Sony wanted for May 2011, but the scripts weren't good enough, so Raimi walked away from the project because he knew he couldn't make the movie on time and Sony went with plan B that ended up being The Amazing Spider-Man

Honestly in a deleted scene some symbiote got away. Possibly we could get one of the other symbiote off spring from the Toby timeline.

Not to hate on Hardy’s venom, it was fun. But this venom was in my opinion, more realistic. It could have some improvements for sure but I think it looked the best. That being said a perfect mix of both would be awesome. Topher Grace as Eddie I think is way better (also actually like the comics) the deep voice in Hardy’s venom, the size of Hardy’s venom, but everything else from this venom and I think it would be perfect

You know what’s weird, when Peter had that black suit, he was able to take it off without a problem in some scenes but when he tries to take it off in the tower, he can’t get rid of it……
