Looks like an awesome place and I enjoyed your video of it. But from what I have read, a couple could easily drop $300 plus for an evening for drinks and some appetizers. Where other clubs would you recommend for more reasonable economics but still fiery notes?

Went here in 2017, awesome club. Expensive but good food and drinks, amazing artists, and the vibe is on point.
Can foreigners buy a ticket for the show? Being a member requires Japan address.

I hope you can too. It's the best in Japan and one of the finest jazz clubs in the world.
I’ve been to the Cotton Club in Tokyo (to see Tom Harrell) and the Billboard Live club in Osaka (to see Blicher-Hemmer-Gadd). My friend Eric Miyashiro directs the Blue Note Tokyo All-Star Big Band, so I hope to check out one of their gigs someday.

On my bucket list. Bob James and Keiko Matsui played here. Seen Al Jarreau Joe Zawinul and Vanessa Williams on the foyer there ... and Incognito, still talkin loud after all these years. Bet you Petersons been at this franchise a few times too. Ok.. enough name dropping.

I'd prefer the low-key more "hole in the wall" type places. More relaxing.
A lot of the time I associated Jazz with Japan, especially since there were so many video games that had jazz in them, all of which had a style you can't find anywhere else.
It's amazing, and in short, it's even nostalgic. Im only now an adult but the music takes me back farther than I thought
Yes jazz was created by black Americans in usa. That music has heavily influenced the world

how many franchises does blue note have?
It seems people all over the world actually appreciate jazz more than it’s actual birthplace(USA). It’s considered Americas only true art form but it’s not listened to as much in the USA these days. It’s sad.
It depends on who you ask. Enormous amounts of people in Japan, Europe and others also don't listen to Jazz that much. But there is still a huge following in America, Europe, Japan and around the world. I would also heavily disagree with the notion that Jazz is Americas only true art form because they also created Rock n Roll, Blues and Country. Let's not try to downplay America's contributions.

I grew up listening to New York and NOLA jazz, which I loved. But, when I moved to Tokyo and got a taste of the jazz over there I quickly got a new favorite. Amazing place this one here and can't wait to go back.
