Sarah loves this boat and euro to euro when you put it up to other sailboats of its class it is a very attractive deal. You get a lot of boat for your money and it helps that Magnus is a big-time sailer so a lot of thought goes into each new model. 😘

Hallberg Rassy 400! My dream boat, literally, certainly among monohulls (though I think I'd prefer the center cockpit version). Liked and subscribed! Thanks.
For disabled Sailors, a centre Cockpit can be a disadvantage, and in reality, an Aft Cockpit can be a least as safe with pad eyes and Jack stays to clip a harness onto on leaving the companionway to get in the Cockpit, for us disabled a Sugarscoop stern or Bathing platform can make a big difference for use as a Tender Dock for being able to get on or off the Tender securely, then access to the Cockpit can be pretty straightforward, and ideally, secure travel through the Cockpit to the Cimpanionway. A big issue with most CC for us disabled is the number of them with extremely steep Companionway steps to go below. Surprisingly good CC from that perspective, is the Hunter 45 CC. Which also has really good headroom, which is a big help in keeping below deck temperatures bearable in the Tropics. Not mentioned as any form of criticism by the way, only mentioned to hopefully provide some food for thought for people who are as disabled as I am who also would like to keep Sailing. Best Wishes. The video white info text could do with a semitransparent dark background bar & vice versa for the dark info text if it's possible with the video editor being used. ** Hallberg Rassy 400 ** just to be totally sure😊
Greats- The Tour, non slip,in Mast Furling, bowsprit options, that Aft Cockpit, Dodger, track in front of Dodger, Companionway, brilliant Galley, Cabin, Heads and shower options, safe environment a ove and below deck for moving around, and can’t criticise the electrical, wiring overall a very nice liveaboard boat. Not so good, much as I love Volvo Diesels, their spares prices are beyond ridiculous, so would prefer a direct drive Yanmar, and yet again ruined by fitting twin rudders. It’s a beamy boat with a good hull design so great progress under Sail should be with the boat as vertical with as little heel as possible, so why not a single rudder to retain the needed early warning to depower that you get with a single rudder ? Yes I know I’ve got a real bee in my bonnet about twin rudders, but it isn’t just the East Coast of the USA with intensive fields of hazards for twin rudders. If it wasn’t for those, this Sailboat came close to knocking the Island Packet IP 439 Off the top choice of my next new Sailboat. Damned Shame, with so much to like. I didn’t catch the depth of Draft by the way, did see the aircraft thoughThat may be another factor ruling it out I suppose. @@SVTONICBoatWives Oh strewth, my reply went on far too long, as I was having way too much fun speculating on the potential tide me over Sailboat, many how and the what if what to get and getting it into tip top Bristol Fashion Condition.Basics are really just in Mast Furling Main, Aft Cockpit, and as close as possible to a 5 foot Draft 2 dryn heads with 2 sit down showers and a Galley I can wedge securely into plus a nicely oversized direct drive inboard diesel plus single Rudder, and I can get the rest seen to tbh. I love the build of Dufours, but with a shallow Draft of 5 ft 5 inches, that's a real problem 3 inches too deep, 2 inches has left the fuzzy red line, and has crossed into solid red = real problems Bahamas, ICW etc. To get the needed Draft and single rudder really means built year 2000 to 2012 ish, so not likely to have had new Standing Rigging, but for a good, otherwise well maintained boat, such replacements really aren't a problem. Same thing with usually crappy worn outb baggy pants cross cut Sails. New ones to my spec is OK. See, I'm nearly off again on a fitting out adventure. But there are Sailboats outvthere, with all the basics I need, and they are coming up to an age were they need some tlc, and money, to give them a big life extension boost. Once the Piggy Bank fills up again, I have a feeling a pretty large selection of the right boats will be showing up in the Production Boat ranges. The twin rudders thing is because if doing a relatively wide aft hull shape does provide the extra intended form stability & reduced heel angles it must result in a central rudder being lifted out of the water too much due to the entire aft of the boat being lifted more while heeling so the twin rudders become inevitable given the design choice of a wide aft hull shape. I'm not a big fan of twin rudders but the rest of the Hallberg Rassy 40 looks good enough to forgive the twin rudders issue.
Ask them nicely if you can have a 69 for a few days to test sail. Obviously you will need a coiple of crew. If you ask me very very nicely I will make myself available. The is my dream brand but it will need to be the lottery to afford one, nice to dream. Love the video, more about the yacht than where to store your socks 👍.

How tall are you though... You didn't say. Also when u hit those rear cabins can you demonstrate if there is enough headroom to sit up right in bed please. Usually there seems to me to be some topside deck form impeding lounge lizard ergonomics at the rear of the cabin. Thanks.
I am around 5ft8/9 on a good day, in the Rassy there is plenty of headroom to sit up in bed, but I know what you mean about a lot of the new boats, You need to be a limbo artist to get in and out of bed.
