      Yeah, the angle of that lean was a little too convenient to be unintentionally done
      The only other option is that he was trying to push his teammate out of the way which wouldn't be that far off given how much aggressive behavior he's exhibited in the past

    After watching the video of the death of Adam Johnson multiple times, I believe this is murder. At first I thought it was incidental contact and accidental, but it becomes apparent that the opposing player Matt Petgrave was targeting Johnson. Yes there was another player in between the two of them, but you can see Petgrave is following Johnson’s path. As Johnson starts to pivot to go behind his teammate, Petgrave puts on the brakes with his right leg (you can see the snow kick up) and lifts his left leg to make contact with Johnson. You may say the intent of Petgrave was to slow down Johnson, but the horror of it all is how high the skate goes. Call it what you want, murder or manslaughter, I see it as intentional.

I feel like I have witnessed murder for the first time in my life. Petgrave appears to be playing the game as if he is in mortal combat with his opponent and indeed inflicted a mortal wound. There was probably no way Johnson could be saved from the wound.

    Can anyone who has watched the Sport a lot more than I have explain to me, why in any situation a players skate would be off the ground that high, not just that, but off the ground that high and lunging blade up towards an opposition player? Surely this is an unnatural position and therefore shows intent. Seems pretty clear and obvious intent to hurt or injure the player so at the very least Manslaughter. RIGHT?

    • @Milehighsnake98
      @Milehighsnake98 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes. It actually happens quite often. I fell one time right in front of my own goalie and he told me after the period was over that his life flashed before his eyes because my skate was maybe 6" from his mask. I've been kicked in the face with a skate when a player tripped (thankfully I wear a full cage, or I would've been cut). If you watch a video of big NHL hits, you'll see players skates come up to head height often. Now, this wasn't a "big" hit, per se, but it was an off-balance situation. Matt was turning hard to his left, that's why you see both of his skates close together to the right. When you do that, most of your weight is typically on your inside foot. Well, the inside (left) foot just clipped the back of the other Panthers player, while he was pushing on that player. When that happened, he was thrown off balance. He was being pushed towards his right, so his leg subconsciously kicks out to the opposite direction. That's why you see his right skate skip across the ice and turn suddenly, trying to catch himself from falling.
      I can tell you with absolute certainty, to try to make that motion, intentionally, while wearing all of the gear a hockey player does, on skates, is nearly impossible. Doing it while moving at 10-15mph, is almost certainly impossible. And doing it successfully hitting someone in one of the only vulnerable spots on the body? that's 1 in a billion.

      It’s all about poor MP..
      They( Sheffield ) even advertised his SHIRT ( off the back) as a prize for the night of 28/10/23..
      And hide behind some faux legal arguments- ..rather than NO ONE should even want his shirt, which may actually have been needed as evidence of blood splatter… so quite why it WAS advertised as a PRIZE is not just tasteless it’s wrong.
      Adam Johnson is dead - in part because a lazy skater, taken out of position, chose to NOT turn himself around ..he was on the wrong side being right handed..

      He wasn't even in attendance. They just showed his picture on the big screen with a message that the Steelers hockey club doesn't tolerate racism as he had been the target of a multitude of racist attacks and threats against his life over this incident. They held a moment of silence for Adam, and then asked everyone to be kind and not be racist. That's what the ovation was about.

It's clear to me his actions were unintentional and anyone suggesting otherwise is mistaken”.

    I understand how legs can fly up when balance is lost on skates of any kind, but at professional levels this should virtually be impossible.
    Also, professional hockey players KNOW the dangers of the knives on their feet, it's instilled in all trainings and rules to avoid exactly this type of incident.
    Even in freak accidents, at the speed and level that these individuals play at, a leg should never go that high unless the player fully lost control of their body (lost consciousness) or it was intentionally done to balance themselves (to which they have trained extensively to use everything else EXCEPT their swinging feet). regardless, any professionals who handle blades have training and going against this training intentionally is guaranteed to risk lives; hence, it essentially is premeditated (eg. a chef flailing his arms holding knives running through the kitchen is 100% intentional and dangerous) and Matt obviously targetted Adam.
    If a person holding knives runs exactly at you flailing his arms, this can be seen as attempted murder, regardless if he says it was an accident or had no intention of hurting you (because chosing to do a well-known, provenly dangerous motion is an educated and active choice to do harm).

    • @Milehighsnake98
      @Milehighsnake98 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's never impossible. At the speed and level those players play at, things happen in a split second. It doesn't matter how well trained you are, you can't train out natural instinct. Your "flailing his arms holding knives" is really a stupid comparison. Your natural instinct is to protect your head and your main organs from injury when you fall. That's basic survival instinct. Your brain doesn't care what your legs or arms do so long as the core is protected. That's why his leg comes up when he trips.
