    I personally think they didn't totally copy the RMC Raptor, but they did take a lot of inspiration from it.

      That’s fair but Intamin has been around for so much longer than RMC. We have to recognize that RMC hit the market with a ride type that was completely original and could have honestly flopped. They make coasters that have the rider extremely close to the track feeling like they have no restraints! Before they came along, coaster companies like Intamin weren’t challenged to come up with new concepts like they are now. It’s an exciting development on all fronts because all big coaster companies are going to want to take a jab at trying this type in their own way. RMC had coaster engineers from other companies and I think that they always had the potential but what they have become is so intriguing and exciting and new.

    it looks like they saw the raptor, then developed their own version of a single rail coaster. Just like how multiple companies have their own versions of hypers, inverts, etc.

      RMC didn’t create the single rail it’s been other single rail coasters RMC however did perfect the single rail coaster

    • @ThemeParkDaze

      @@KB.84 true, but unless there's something I'm forgetting. single rail coasters before RMC were, like, steeplechases. Was there another single rail coaster that was more like RMCs version but before RMC?

    • @KB.84
      @KB.84 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Robotnik Bros. There was another one built but it didn’t operate very long before the steeplechase came out. There were two more attempts at the single rail in which I believe one may still be running but it is across seas and is a family ride. RMC perfected the single rail taking it to new extremes and heights.

    • @KB.84
      @KB.84 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Robotnik Bros. Just pointing out RMC didn’t create the single rail, the hybrid coasters, or inversions on a wooden coaster (son of beast, hades converted to Hades 360) They did perfect them though!

    Omg, people who say its a knockoff r false cuz the single rail is just another coaster type, people don't call hyperion a knockoff of shambhala and they're both hyper coasters.. But great video

    I think that the best difference is to compare the new VolociCoaster at Islands of Adventure vs Stunt Pilot in Idaho at Silverwood. Both are being released close to each other and are gorgeous coasters of the type you are describing yet I can see MASSIVE differences when I compare them even in my head! Beautiful new coasters with fun new experiences for people.

    I want more boxed coasters or mostly indoor element coaster. Seems like the big spenders of Disney/ universal have been the only ones to do them recently. To me there’s just something cool about the dark element and theming of an indoor coaster. If these coasters are so compact able I’d love to see one boxed or really indoor well themed. Just my personal preference . Keep up the great content . Look forward to seeing you around magic mountain again whenever they open

  • @alexbaker7722
    @alexbaker7722 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The track being round on the bottom is probably just to get around a lawsuit. And the fact it's launched is just a distraction so it doesn't look identical to a Raptor. Only real difference I can see is the heartline. That being said, I'm certainly not complaining. If anyone can push the single rail concept to the next level it's Intamin.

  • @G3R0George

    I think it looks better. The over-the-shoulder strap on the raptors are very annoying, and during turns can press into my neck and it hurts.

    Coaster Manufacturers learning from other companies and applying that knowledge to their own coasters is what got us to the point we are at today. It only makes sense that if one of them strikes gold, the others will start digging. And That's what is best for all coaster riders, since the overall quality of rides increases. They just better not start making exact clones of each other.

  • @mitchellries256
    @mitchellries256 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I'd say they copied it in a way. But I wouldn't say that's a bad thing at all. It's really no different than how B&M invented the inverted looping coaster and how Vekoma and Intamin designed their own versions as well. Another example would be how Vekoma invented the flying coaster and then Zamperla and B&M also made their own as well. I could name some more but I think that's enough.

    • @troyvsc
      @troyvsc 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      And this can be a good thing. I don’t think anyone that has ridden a B&M flying coaster is going to complain that they were inspired by Vekoma’s version and improved on it.

    I think Single Rails are the new inverts. They started as tame, non inverting layouts but new and innovative companies found a way to make them more extreme and exciting.

      RMC and GCI opened looping wooden coasters in the same year everyone forgets about Hades 360 conversion from the original Hades at Mt Olympus. Also Rmc didn’t create the first single rail coaster they only perfected the single rail

    Intamin really did a smart move with this. It is good to take inspiration sometimes and copying other Manafacturings. Intamin knows these models are susesful so they copy them. It saves time and it works great, I can't wait to see just how much Intamin will keep improving and it is insane just how far we come.

  • @jonathanrandall28
    @jonathanrandall28 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    May just be the layout of the particular model, but the intimin doesnt seem to have the pacing of the raptor. The raptor hauls through the layout and has very sharp and wippy transitions. Intimin coaster seems to be more west coast racers type pacing. May be a function of the narrow rmc track allowing for more snappy elements

  • @MrSRArter

    Bruh its an complete copy, I don’t care how try to spin it. Where’s the originality that Intamin is know for. I hate people trying to point out well the spine is round and not box, it’s really not argument when your comparing originality.

    • @ParksBros

      Intamin wasn’t the first to come up with a triangular track design either.

  • @Coastoons
    @Coastoons 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think the Intamin variant actually looks a little better. I feel like staying low to the ground and the launching aspect of it lends itself best to the single rail concept.

    I feel like the rmc track (raptor) is better because if you think about it u can use the same track for a single rail inverted coaster and same for the T-Rex track if the were to use it

  • @ericwilson281
    @ericwilson281 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I’ll bet another difference is max span length between supports with the nod going to rmc. Raptor track is an I beam which is the strongest for spans m.th-cam.com/video/zSz0kV0BPDY/w-d-xo.html
    Intamin track is curved on the bottom probably so they are already tooled to make those sections for their other rides (great call out on that btw)

  • @ducksfan_1149
    @ducksfan_1149 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I mean yeah they probably legally had to make some of these changes- but it’s still disappointing to see what was once the most innovative manufacturer fall to 4 copy paste models. maybe I’d be less disappointed if they tried their version of a t-Rex.. which would probably force RMC’s hand to unleash theirs. If Intamin isn’t careful they’ll just become the Pepsi to RMC’s coke and lose their identity all together.
