There was a period, just outside of high school, when I actually hated watches; I had some bad luck with some of the ones I had owned and eventually thought of them as being obsolete. Then a certain job made wearing a watch almost a necessity; it was certainly more professional than checking time on a phone. So I started with a watch that required virtually no maintenance; a solar G Shock with atomic time. I ended up with a few more G Shocks, chasing complications and functions along the way. Then one Christmas, I gifted my brother a 5610 and became enamoured with smaller, easier to wear watches. When I ventured into mechanical watches, it disrupted my rotation because of power reserve anxiety. But at the same time, I began gravitating to watches with fewer complications on that particular watch. So what does that lead to? Owning several mechanical watches which fit into distinct categories; like a chronograph, diver, etc. 😅
Thanks for watching! And what a great story! GShocks are classic and fun watches. Keeping watches in rotation is a tricky one. I’ve resigned myself and accepted I’ll need to wind and set my watches 🤪 Would love to hear about what watches you have in your collection now. This is the part of watch collecting that I am loving, it’s the conversations and sharing respective journeys. Trying my hand at starting a subreddit where people can post and share about their collection if you’re up for it. 🙂reddit.com/r/watchgrok/s/hwSUqqKuUt
Thanks for watching! That is definitely an interesting looking watch! I haven’t looked too much into that one, nor have I looked too much at Tag Heuer as a brand either. My recommendation is try to go see the watch in person, try it on, and see how you like it. If you’re able to do this a couple times that’s ideal. I would also just go to a store and try on a bunch of watches ranging in brands to get a feel for what you like. Dial, bracelet, color, etc… This will help with knowing what watches you like and don’t like. A lot of times, seeing the watch in person, than seeing it online!
very nice editing, liked the video!
Thanks for watching! And Thank you for the encouragement!

A great story I also like the Pelagos 42mm, but in black.
@@kbarnbrook4993 thanks for watching! The Pelagos also looks great in black!
I was thinking that, I wanted to purchase the Tag Heuer Carrera Date 36mm. Do you think it's a good watch for my first luxury watch collection?
