I just noticed that simply upping the textures and resolution makes the PS2 version look like a decent 7th gen game. I think I changed my mind on RE4/King Kong being the 2 most impressive looking games of 6th gen.
Don't really see a difference except the PS2 side is stretched and 2d sprites like text on screen is still low resolution. Was the original stuck in 4:3? I don't remember if there was a 16:9 option
PCSX2 is very similar to RPCS3 apart from the distance rendering and shadows. The distance is better in RPCS3 but shadows are in PCSX2 and the performance is also better in PCSX2, less glitches.
Texture patch looks better in many ways! Especially in the open world with atmospheric "fog" etc. The shadows are too perfect, but at least they are visible, unlike the RPCS3. I curious about the performance comparison between emulating the two. If the re-textured version is much easier to emulate, it's a no-brainer. Awesome work! (It would be nice to get the text and other overlays fixed though - those really stand out).

FF12 with 2k or 4k resolution still amazing me.
Thanks for this was going to look for comparison videos
Texture patch makes game alive
rpcs3 still looks better to me
emulation, mods and patches 🙌
@@stevensv4864 as a pcxs2 user, I'll have to agree to that statement

16:9 aspect ratio is available in the options menu +progressive scan mode
its a little bit more blurry on the pcsx2 pack, but just a little bit.

can you please show your PCSX2 settings? thank you.
why is the rpcs3 version squished?
It's not, it's actually the other way around. The PCSX2 is stretched.
Nope, compared to another video and pretty sure the ps2 version is displaying correctly. @@RegalPixelKing
