    I'd just like to give a quick mention that I have a 2013, and I really enjoy riding the bike. In regards to your comment about speed, I have reached a maximum of 97 mph with no troubles; also I have no trouble maintaining a speed of 80-85 mph, not that it's very important to go at that speed. Overall, I'm pleased that I chose this model as my first bike to learn on. I recommend it to new riders.

    Great, great, great review! Superb. You answered exactly the questions I was wondering and could not find answers for! I needed to know around how high the rpm's would be be revving when going around 65-70 miles an hour, and you said going 70 would be at 8,200 rpm, which is well below the 10,000 redline. You even told me where the redline is! Superb, more power to you. Keep up the video's! Amazing 1080p video quality, and sound quality was great even with the wind blowing! Nice use of the mic! Highly impressed! Now i know I'm getting a cbr250! Thank You!

    Great review video, I now have 2,000 miles on my 2012 CBR 250R and still loving it like the day I bought it. You have one of the most inoformative channels on how you fill and to help riders get information on your reviews. Keep up the good work and keep the videos coming. We are planning a vacation on our bikes for 2 weeks in the middle of June maybe if your up that way we could meet have lunch and ride around the murphy blairsville area. Looking forward to more videos.

    A fine review of a 21st Century version of Honda's CB 250RS - an excellent motorcycle which I believe wasn't sold in the US.

    Another great review. Your 6000 Mile review was a big factor in my choosing this bike for my first and while i have nowhere near the mileage on mine as you due to short riding season and the fact that its strictly a pleasure use vehicle. But great to see that with the high mileage your still happy with the bike. Its definitely a comfortable fun one to ride.

    What I am saying is that it not a touring bike that is comfortable for hours on end. This is a light bike that some would call a commuter meaning a bike designed for shorter rides. A bigger bike is less tiring to ride because the weight takes the bumps out of the road and is pushed around less by the wind. So, if you are going to ride across country day after day, you'd want a larger bike, whereas this one is a lot of fun for shorter "day rides."

    As always your videos are great miss you out riding around showing all the places you ride. Where did you do this video it is beautiful you always find the best rides and places to see when you are riding. I grew up in Murphy NC not far from where you do all your videos I visit there often. When are you going to make some more riding videos? You have what it takes for motovlogging looking forward to more keep up the good work.

    I bought mine around the same time. I now have just under 14000miles and am also possibly looking at a chain and sprockets. I opted for some Bridgestone tires though with a longer tread life, so far they are proving to be a good choice. The best part of this bike is the fuel economy. I averaged 72mpg when doing 90% highway and 80mpg when doing 50% highway

    Hi NJS1Dallas the Honda CBR250R will do just fine, I am 6'2'' 230 I have a 2012 CBR250R and love it so much. It does everything just like it would for a smaller person. I enjoy riding it there are no issues with my size I have had the bike at 80 and no problems. I have had bigger bikes in my younger days and find this bike to do everything the big bikes do. This is a fun bike I am so glad I bought it and have no plans on selling it. I say go for it you will love it.

    Great review excellent content, question? How tall are you, how would this bike or the CB300F be for a 6'-0" tall rider? would it be a very cramped riding position?

    I think used bikes are a smart way to go and encourage it. There are a lot of good used bikes out there, and it's a good way to get what you want without breaking the bank. I like the CBR, but I want something larger too at some point.

    Have you considered using a Scott Oiler to extend your chain and sprocket life? Worked great for me on my old VFR.

  • @hgl1001
    @hgl1001  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I go for a larger bike. Cruisers are good learning bikes--like temptations than a sports bike! That said, someone recommended the V Strom on another post. I think the V Strom is a great bike. Rock solid.

    Nice looking bike you have. They seem notorious for wearing out the chain & sprockets way sooner than most bikes, the shock pads in the rear rims usually need to be replaced when the rear tire wears out also. Sounds like your valves where in specs for the first 600 mile check, it seems the CBR250 are a little better in that department than the new CB500 bikes, many of them need shims then, and some valves also. I agree the 250 is not the best bike for the long interstates rides, no real passing power in a emergencies, ok for short jaunts. Ride safe. yl

    Good vid, I was thinking of getting this or the ninja 250r . Ninja looks better, has more power,and slightly stiffer suspension.However, the cbr 250r have fuel injection, you can start the bike and drive away no choke crap.In addition, it has slightly better gas consumption.

    I can push my bike to 145-150 kms (about 93mph) and it holds that speed ( 9000ish rpms). You just have to anticipate hills and slopes and shift to hit the right rpm to the condition of the terrain. It is a good bike... not the best, not the worst. Just fun!

  • @hijackerjoy
    @hijackerjoy 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well I had mine since, July 2011, and done about 45000 km now. Top speed is 165 km, a little more than a 100 miles i guess. And I still have the same sprockets and chain. And the tyres are still the same too, no problem ! But thanks for the video :-)

    • @nakedbiker3963
      @nakedbiker3963 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did a solid 27 000 km with it since june 2012, replaced the stock tires after 3000 km for a pair of bridgestone bt 45. And those tires are still good! But the 250 has zero power so i bought a gs500 a few weeks ago, much better for travel. But im gonna miss the 250 though

    I don't think so. The Ninja is twin cylinder, and that's cool. The Ninja 300 seems really cool to me, but I have not tested it. Will when dealer has demo.

    Did you have anything out of spec at 600 miles? I didn't get the ability to make 600 mile "check up" but I did swap out the stock oil for Mobil 1 full synthetic and it runs GREAT. Almost better than when I first got it. I've had it for a month and put over 1k on it. I do intend on getting the first check-up, but it still feels reliable.

    How do you wear out a chain on a 250 with 11,000 when I've got 28,200 on my Busa and still have the original chain? I have new sprockets and chain but will not put them on till I install the new exhaust.
    "axxhole-lutely not" does that mean "it will not"?
