    Recommended tire pressure is actually 29f/29r psi. If you're gonna ride 2up, then they recommend 33 for the rear. 36 is too much.

      I just past my first 100 km on mine some days ago. Still on my temporary licence so I can only ride with another rider (Québec laws man...) but it's a lot of fun. Even with that little engine, the acceleration is pretty sweet when starting from a red light. Plus, I have the ABS version. I didn't manage to make it start even when braking relatively hard on a cold rainy day, but I feel so, so much safer with it. Honestly, as a beginner, this bike is perfect for me.
      Hope you get one too. ;)

    I've always been a fan of crotch rockets, but dad thinks otherwise. I found that a good excuse (and he knows it's true) is that I have fractured my tailbone oh-so a year ago, and it healed without medical attention, so after sitting on it for more than 5 mins, it hurts like hell to get up or just stay there. So the crotch rockets have been the open door for me, wondering if I should start on 250 supermoto or this, cbr250r. Maybe 2013 or 2014, depending on the looks, I like the fireblade look.

    Here is some info you left out, or did not know, like the front Tire size 110/70-17 radial, and the rear is a 140/70-17 radial, not a 170, or 120 size whatever, easy mistake..lol
    Another thing, it's not a crotch rocket by def, that implies speed, and you said its not so good for passing.
    Must be your first bike, and it's a nice ride for that, works great for people who have been riding for years, even with all the bugs the new bikes seem to be having.
    I agree with your statement, that it's a " affordable, fun, all around good ride for novice riders! "
    BTW did you check your bike for recalls ? There are a few out. Ride safe & smart. yl

    Ninja 250 has got in-line 2 cylinder, which will be always better than any single cylinder bike of the same displacement. Nice review though.

    • @Gortall
      @Gortall 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's all about the torque, man. =P

    • @philipcooper8297
      @philipcooper8297 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gortall Well, it is not, but carry on thinking that, mate.

    • @Gortall
      @Gortall 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not using my bike on a racetrack, so I don't need the extra power at the expense of having to high-rev to do anything.
      But yeah, it's not "all about the torque", that was a joke. If I could, I would have taken a ninja 300, but the model was brand new and a little too expensive. I took the CBR over the Ninja 250 because of the technology and the easiness to use. Honestly, as a beginner, it's a joy. =)

    Would this be a good bike for me to start off with? I'm about 5'7" around 160lbs & I'm looking for a beginner bike that has some speed/acceleration to it.

    • @MadnessOfMarmots
      @MadnessOfMarmots 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +LaBrian Pittman All the 250/300cc bikes are designed to be beginner bikes, so yes. The CBR250 isn't a very big bike, at least I didn't think so at 6' so you should probably be fine. As for speed/acceleration, they're not the quickest thing out there getting up to speed but they'll do highway speeds, although you may find yourself wanting something a bit quicker in a year or so. The fact that they're not super quick is a good thing, that means it won't get away from you. All that said, all 250s are excellent beginner bikes and I see no reason why this would be an exception.

    So I'm 14 and I have rode a lot of thing like yz dortbikes and ex400 quad so for my 15 bday. so is riding a street bike a little different?

    • @BTdeltafan101
      @BTdeltafan101  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for some reason I didn't see this. To be honest, I never rode dirt bikes but it isn't at all like a quad. It just takes a bit of practice but anyone can learn.

  • @johnweirdos2694
    @johnweirdos2694 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am getting one are they good for driving everyday when the weather is not bad? And are the good for road trips?

    • @BTdeltafan101
      @BTdeltafan101  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      John Weirdos It's a crotch rocket so after a while it will hurt your tailbone/ back... But because it has an upright riding position it will be much more comfortable then the average crotch rocket. If I was you I would look at the 500r. A bit more power so better for road trips where you need speed to pas.

  • @gangatalishis
    @gangatalishis 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    is it good for driving around in the city, i also live in Massachusetts and there are a lot of shitty drivers so i need to be able to stop on a dime

    • @BTdeltafan101
      @BTdeltafan101  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I find the brakes on this bike are better then m CBR500R brakes are. And it's good for city driving. It's cheap on fuel so it will save you a lot of money and it's plenty quick to get around on. You'll be happy with it.

      Deekshith Moily ABS isn't needed on any bike to be honest. It's just an added safety feature. I went without it because I didn't feel I needed it and I haven't had a problem. :)

  • @mrmeaty56
    @mrmeaty56 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    If your tires are anything like the ones on my ninja 300, they're wood. You can't really dig deep in the twistys, my Ktm 500 super moto does a better job haha. You should try the Michelin Pilot road 3 tires. They're a very grippy and balanced tire, plus it's descend in wet conditions. Better tires are the best upgrade for that bike, plus it'll give you more confidence to learn how to drag your knee in the turns. Good vid man, have fun and keep it safe haha

    • @BTdeltafan101
      @BTdeltafan101  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I might try out some new tires next season if I can afford the insurance. Here in Ontario, it's 307$/ month to insure this friggin thing! It's actually ridiculous.

    • @waswolltihr1526
      @waswolltihr1526 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      BTdeltafan101
      That's indeed ridiculous. Here in Germany I pay 56€ for the whole season (in my case from April till October /7 months.)

    • @waswolltihr1526
      @waswolltihr1526 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      It doesn't make sense. If a German insurance company can cover my risk for 56€ for 7 months then I don't see a reason why a Canadian (I take it you're from Canada) company can't.

    • @BTdeltafan101
      @BTdeltafan101  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Waswollt Ihr Canada, specifically Ontario (province I live in) is very badly priced for most things.. Houses, internet, cell phone contracts, insurance; All of these things we are greatly overcharged for and it sucks.
