I loved this era of music and Echo were one of the best of this era.
We really didn't need Nirvana to save us. People with taste knew that.
I love this version. RIP Pete, you are not forgotten. So glad this video exists!

Easily one of the best rhythm sections in Post- Punk. Awesome band and I was lucky enough to see them in Kansas City on this tour in 1988, with Screaming Blue Messiahs opening. I will never forget that night...
Echo and the Bunnymen were popular in the United States in the 80's and they performed quite often in New York
bring on the new mesiah... headless and all alone.
I saw Echo & the Bunnymen three times total. First was at Warfield in S.F. during spring break 1985. I then saw them twice after, the first at their first ever Portland, Ore. appearance - then again PDX. All three times, we made front row. Sadly, the Portland venue had no seats and we were literally getting crushed up front and had to be pulled out by security to prevent being suffocated.
I saw that show in KC too and still have the (handwritten) set list

Yeah, that Manzarek organ....god. The more the Bunnymen over-indulged their Doors tendencies, the worse they got.

My man Ian has said this is a depressing song about the inevitability of hard times and humility, disguised ironically as a fun, upbeat tune with animals in it.

This is certainly taken at a faster pace than the album! Did these guys ever make a bad record? I've got everything they've ever put out on vinyl and it's all pretty fantastic! Definitely one of the greatest bands from a GREAT decade, said this now 69 year old!
Most underrated Echo song IMO, bass is sick.
He is a very under rated bass player..

The "speed" (no pun) of the songs depend on Mac - on any given night. I've seen the Bunnymen live, a dozen or so times.

nostalgia, tempos de sonhos, esperanças, coisas loucas na cabeça, gente nova, gente legal, gente chata, tudo e nada... tempos que eram e foram, que eram demais e a cada dia mais nostálgicos e especiais.
é tipo fortemente influenciada pela Bossa Nova e o Jazz Contemporâneo. Nem próximo do que eles fizeram. Eles dificilmente utilizaram influência do Jazz, Soul, Bossa Nova em algo deles.

Bass on this version is great. Les and Will made a unique guitar sound. Ocean Rain was for me their best but did like all their early ones.

What a great sound! Anyone else reminiscent of the great eighties shows? Bands like this, PIL, Flesh for Lulu, G loves J, Skinny Puppy, Pere Ubu...Far too many to name!
Post-Punk was the best! Got to see PIL in the middle of a bill with New Order headlining and the Sugarcubes (Bjork!) opening. Echo & the Bunnymen, The Church, Wire, Lords of the New Church, etc. So many cool bands from that time and genre...
