Absolutely agree 👍💯
By who like?
Was played at brothers funeral amazing song always makes me remember my brother and the good times I had with him always taken to soon
Sorry for your loss brother. Remember the good times with him. 💙
That touched me. My sister has cancer and I don’t know how I’ll cope, but we have the same flesh and blood and she’s a part of me and my mum and daughter and always will be, so take good care of yourself 💝💝💝
Stay strong x
Sorry for your loss. This is a lovely record
Boa tarde época muito boa estamos em 2022 eu continuo ouvindo
My good friend that I've known since school, died a few days ago, I asked him to send me a sign, when driving with the radio on. This song came on and I knew. We loved these from school in the 80s and this song means so much more than ever to me now.
Echo and the bunny men always had a strong nostalgia for me, I'm booking to see them now In March. Brilliant. I'd forgot how ace they are and how much I loved them ❤
Ooooooh Spooky.
I have this on a playlist I made. My brother died recently and when it came on I decided I'd like it to play at his funeral.
Had the same special experience, was talking to my girlfriend in the car abouth my best friend who died at the age of 18 years, that year the bends came out from Radiohead, we loved the song high and dry , and it was that have could being written about his way of living the fast lane, i can Remember how long it was that i heard this song on the radio, as we stept in the first store this song was on, sometimes weird thinks can happen , but that moment was something magic
Love this.
I want it now, I want it now
Not the promises of what tomorrow brings
I need to live in dreams today
I'm tired of the song that sorrow sings
And I want more than I can get
Just trying to, trying to, trying to forget
I'd walk to you through rings of fire
And never let you know the way I feel
Under skin is where I hide
The love that always gets me on my knees
And I want more than I can get
Just trying to, trying to, trying to forget
Nothing ever lasts forever
Nothing ever lasts forever
I want it now, I want it now
Don't tell me that my ship is coming in
Nothing comes to those who wait
Time's running out the door you're running in
So I want more than I can get
Just trying to, trying to, trying to forget
Nothing ever lasts forever
Nothing ever lasts forever
All the shadows and the pain
Are coming to you
90d indie pop people, you’ll never hear songs this good again in your life...literally the best of times.
Spot on
You'd hardly call the bunny men 90s music in all fairness, this so ok
@@colinrgage don’t be like that pal,this is music that’s timeless.☺️
@@76Superdude lol I see em in the 80s!!
@@colinrgage whatever era they were relevant in it hit home didn’t it?
Why is there today no such fantastic music anymore? Like in the 70s, 80s and 90s with so many totally different bands and styles . It still is so fresh. A very very underrated band.
The controlling media is choosing not to indulge.
I'm 68 now and I have a 33 year old son who is into alternative rock. He has introduced me to some great bands of his generation...Radiohead, Travis, James, The Cranberries etc. and more recently bands like War on Drugs, Cage the Elephant and Arcade Fire, just to name a few. My son knows all the bands that I loved like this great band and he loves them all. There is great music and crap music from all eras, you just have to look for the great kind. It helped that I have a son who enjoys my music as well as his. Broaden your horizons and you'd be surprised at how some of today's music is very good, even great.
Listen to Fontaines DC if you haven't already. Fantastic music still exists
@undercoveragentfortheblues1723.my thoughts exactily. 😱
there is it’s just gone underground. mainstream pushes the same crap
one of the best singles of all time ...the emotion is like a million souls singing...amazing power
My dad would have been 61 tomoz. This song was not his favourite or any special meenjng to him but it reminds me of a day that sticks in my memory., we were on our way fishing, nothing special, nothing amazing but it sticks in my mind and always pops up in mg head more than any other memory does of us being together. I dont do emotional posts on any kind of social network or in any part of my life. I've bottled so much and never properly grieved his death, on here nobody knows who I am. And this feels like a little bit of a release. Here's to the greatest, strongest and kindest blokes I've ever known. Love you always dad. Happy birthday.xxx
Would just like to thank you all gor the kind words.x
billbo baggins happy birthday to your Dad 😊
Nice words.
sad times my mate, do your dad proud and be a good bloke you take care
Good song, great words....shine on in his memory x
Always hold him up,,,
I know he's very proud of you,,,🙏
You can tell in your writing👌
They really touch my soul, to tears ....they are part of my life.....beautiful, ethereal, magical, timeless songs by this unique, amazing band....I just love them.
Just spellbindingly
Scrumptious as a sound to resonate my ears in all my life
Damn, I'm tired, mind and body. I can feel every word.
You're okay. You'll be fine. Listen to the music and let go.
Brilliant song. As a northerner i love this and you should love it wherever you're from.
Top band seen them at Erics in Liverpool in the early 80s still love em.
Leicester, and I do...
Fucking brilliant.💯👍
Liam Gallagher on backing vox🔥
Those strings are just gorgeous. What a beautiful song.
Yep, copy cat
One of the greatest songs of all time
My goodnesss...Ian's voice is unmatched...this song makes my badass cry just thinking of my people and loves which are gone❤
Seriously
Lost the love ❤️ of my life recently. This most beautiful song , puts almost everything in place. Love you so much Rebecca 💗
Just when you thought they faded away, they came roaring back with another beautiful timeless track. Undiluted by over production and heightened by Liam’s soaring backing vocals...this goes into my Echo Heart Box of timeless treasures. Inside, there are many.
Saw them at Rock City (Nottingham) 1997 shortly after they had a bit hit with this fantastic track. As you intimate it was a bit of a come back at the time as they had been big in the 80s. Amazing that I have recently got tickets again to see them at Rock City in 2021...
He’s never really gone mate, when you have the memories.
You can't put your arms around a memory - Johnny Thunder
@@oblivion2967 it's the memory that puts its arms around you!
@@sataneq Well said my friend, well said indeed
What a beauutiful comment! Well said sir :)
This song came out in July 1997, just as I graduated from university. It really summed up how I felt at the end of what was a great time.
I just started high school... Better times :)
Saw them at Glastonbury '97
Nothing ever lasts forever, you get to 50 and understand your ship is coming in, it's coming soon and there is no way back ❗
i always quote this song when talking about life and happy times.
Jeff. B. Times certainly seemed better back then for sure, whether they were you can't really say.
True though.
sitting here listening to echo and the bunnymen. best band by miles
This is amazing ! We really like your stuff ! 🔥🙌🏽🔥
I remember playing this song one time crying my eyes out when I was on a meth comedown and I knew that I had to quit and go rehab. Nothing ever last forever.
Hope it worked out, man
@@wirelad2007 me too mate. It's not easy but I'll get there.
Hopefully you are still clean. 🙏
Hope your back on your feet my man. 🙏🙏
Playing this songs is almost 36x a day
Im addiction with the bunnymen so much
I love you guys😍
another peach of a song, effing brilliant 💪
My musical Tastes in the 1980s through the 90s was like like I was in a COMA
Missing all this great music
Too stuck on being such A METAL HEAD!
Listening to these bands is like discovering an entirely new world.
Great Music this Band was ahead of their time!
Check out Throwing Muses. One of the most underrated 80s bands and even better through the 90s. And early Flaming Lips too!
I feel so sorry in one way, yet I'm jealous you get to hear it now for the first time!😎🤣🤣🖕
This needs a re-upload as the sound is horrendous and muddy. Such a shame as this is an incredible song.
Yes! Brilliant song. Thanks for posting
I'm going to have it put in my will to play this song and Rust at my funeral, and then I want everyone to party because I know I will be because I will finally be free!
Les,Will & Ian, it’s only the Bunnymen when it’s them 3. RIP Pete.
Funny that I can understand what Ian says when he sings but not a word of it when he talks, haha.
Must be singing from his heart
Lovely thought-provoking song from Echo and the Bunnymen.
This was a great comeback track for them
they never went anywhere been in to these since 1980s
Remember this from Glastonbury'97
Just brilliant. Teenage years
Take me back
Very Verve to me
Very Brit Pop compared to their 80s stuff.
Heard it on the radio when i was talking to my boyfriend of 5 years and he told me he had someone else and i started crying as i hearf this song on the radio .. makes me cry every time i hear it .. reminds me of everything i had
Stay strong x
Similar thing happened to me, my girlfriend packed me in twice for her first love and I called it a day. Months later she turned up at my door, stupidly I tried for a third time and it survived, 3 kids married and still together. I was playing The Cutter when she knocked the door and it's one of my favourites still today. Feel sad what happened to you but can relate to those feelings when it happens.
The falling in love songs are the ones you should try to remember rather than the break up ones although I tend to be drawn more to the songs which caused pain or upset in my life too. Maybe theyre just better songs ?
You'll look back and smile and agree one day when you play this... Hang in there soldier... You'll get 'More'
@@tigertank1a421 forgave her twice 🤢 Jesus I never could but it worked out with you long run with kids an all I’m sure you wouldn’t give up for the world but damn I can’t understand how you forgave her twice
Sound quality is terrible on this. Like, just so bad, especially for an official version. Do yourself a favour and find an alternative upload if you love this song.
And the reason that this has got 75 thousand hits (as at 7/7/2020) and not 7.5 million is because...the quality of the audio is absolutely shocking. Sort it. It is a GREAT song. Thank you.
th-cam.com/video/i6z4k-6JIsc/w-d-xo.html
doubt it
Thank you such a beautiful song I lost two sons this reminds me how much I love them
So sorry for your loss, sending love from a random TH-cam stranger. Listening to this and thinking of my late Dad and brother fighting cancer. It is a beautiful song x
@@Hannah-cf4ev Thank you I will pray for your familyxx
@@tessmcnamara9230Love to you my friend ❤️🫂🙏🏼
Their last truly great record, what a comeback song !!! Sad pete was'nt there for it. Mac still looks and sounds fantastic here. These days it's a bit raggedy round all edges . Majestic masterpiece this song .
Yes their last great song.... What I was thinking
This is one. Of the best tracks ever.
Saw them in Edmonton 2017. Great concert in front row! He chain smoked the whole time. I had older brothers who got me into Echo, and I look really young for my age, so I think they were suprised to see this young guy front row singing along knowing all the words.
What a bleeding heartbreaker,. Fantastic
Happy birthday, Pete. There is an empty chair for you at 1:17 :')
Listening to this after Jurgen Klopp announces he’s leaving Liverpool at the end of the season. 🥺
Young millennials need to leave the latest music shit and come here.. Home of E&tB
This is for our gizmo he died too young and he was a musician on the Liverpool scene, didn't want to be famous or something, just enjoyed music, I think he knew will Sargent pretty well.
RIP to your friend.
@@larrydanadavid2435thanks bud, he was my brother.
Liam Gallagher is backing vocals on this song..😊
Just literally found this out today that's why I'm here. Yeah yeah yeah! LG ✌
Sure, not only the look but the music...
Well I still think its a brilliant song anyway..
Thank fuck it ain’t his bro🤷♂️
@@ALEXINDAP the one with the talent you mean?
The memories,,.take me back to the 90's..:)
A very fine song... deserves far more views
Nothing Last Forever and Velvet Morning are the greatest songs of the last 30 years IMHO. Timeless.
I'll share your playlist!
Thirty years ago was 1993!😮
Great song but the audio quality is so bad it sounds like a fan uploaded it in 2007 rather than the official audio uploaded in 2019
When you are 20, you think it will last forever, but then you get older and learn that it's all just transitory and short lived.☹️❓❗
Sometimes things last an annoyingly long time, lol the Killing Moon hasn't come for me quite yet. Thanks for the songs Ian.
Oh Ian. You are so wonderful. Your songs have given so many people such joy!
Beautiful ❤
When music was music and not the mass produced garbage it is now..
Someday, someone will cover this and ruin it.
Miles Kane done a pretty good acoustic version. It’s on here- he’s in some Belgian radio station I think, but it’s pretty decent.
Lols probably be either the one with real talent or the other one a talented tambourine shakermaker who encored with another Liverpool bands tune I am the warlrus
Great song fantastic lyrics ,makes you think ,brilliant
Jurgen Klopp
You shall be missed.
I want to go back.
I have loved this song for years and have only just today discovered that Liam Gallagher sings backing vocals on it. And just when i thought it couldn’t have possibly got any better it did. 😊 Gorgeous song. Lovely Ian.
Been an Oasis obsessive all my life and never knew that either! Even Bonehead gets a credit for "Handclaps"!
Must be the "Yeah, yeah, yeah's".
Noel wishes he was Ian McCullough.
A timeless classic!
This song is so good, I've got the video on a loop and am so addicted to it, I'll be taking it to its millionth view.
Me too my brother commit suicide at age of 60 years
Still a great singer vocals
One of the most underrated bands of the 80s and 90s
Not really they were huge!
@@truemansparks huge is an overstatement when you compare their succes to other bands from the 80s . I'm not slating them as I'm a big fan . Saw them in February
@@michaelmarshall9132 Well I remember back in the early eighties they seemed to be in all the music papers some even hailing them as the best band in the world they were popular all over Europe you only have to read the statements from other artists on the back cover of Will's Bunnyman book to see the influence they had, ok they might not have been huge in album sales because they never really cracked the American market like U2 or The police did but I would say they are revered just as much or even more so now.
@@truemansparks I totally agree . All I meant was they weren't as big as they deserved to be
They were big , back in the day, just never pushed on
very verve like, im aware these guys were going way before the verve
Thanks for showing me this song bro
When I heard this in my teens, I was never the same. I always give more than I get, but it never stops me from giving as a hyperempath.
Generation X is close to or over 50 and our wisdom can relate to the song. Getting close we know it!
Gen X is from 1965. So yea. lol. Ian an most of us are Gen X.
Ain’t that the truth
One of my favourite Bunnymen songs.
How true nothing last forever let's all find a time machine and go back to the 80s
I want more than I can give poetry poetry
Love this song memories ❤️
❤
So good you can hear Liam Gallagher on the backing vocals doing the Yeah yeah yeahs
Reminds me of Pete defreitas..RIP X
Beautiful song 🥹😭
S’nice that they had a little renaissance during Britpop, because they had proper songwriting in common with Noel, Jarvis, Albarn et al 😊 #bungalow
I'll have this played at my funeral hopefully many years from now 🙏
I absolutely love this song!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍
I love this song and you are beautiful 🌹 😉 💚

Unbelievably great comeback song, what lyrics! Filmed surely in Marrakech and in Morocco. Couldn't believe my ears back in '97 when I heard it, all their wisdom distilled into a new and fresh sound, what a great era for music
Marrakech is in Morocco!
@@hemelhempsteadherts oops that's right, what was I trying to say? Maybe in the city of Marrakech and in other parts of Morocco?! If anybody knows where these shots were taken, please tell me

Man, I forgot all about these guys! A single from probably the greatest year Alternative rock ever had.
You're a ray of silver in my darkness
Wish I was back at School..
There is a japanese phrase that encapsulates this feeling, it's called 'Mono no aware'. It's very interesting to read about how artists evoke this feeling through their art.
very underated track its brilliant
