I love your - it is interesting - probably the most boring interesting, made from fish waste fabric description lol! I love that you went into this detail! I do love the dress, I definitely think you need more :-)
This looked like the best time!!! Your new dress is just fabulous!! The collar detail with the buttons 🥰🥰 The wood fishy fabric is just too funny! But is a perfect Versace colour!!!! What a fab pairing
Ah thank you so much!! Yes I think I’m going to enjoy having the Soliflore in my wardrobe, it’s a bit smarter than my usual, but it’s always useful to have something like that for a dressier occasion!
Lovely sews - it looks like you had a very special time. I love the green dress. The “fishy fabric” looks stunning and from research I have done previously on Pinterest, the colour you have chosen is a neutral colour in the Autumn colour palette. I am also an Autumn which is one of the reasons I follow your fabric choice with great interest. Happy sewing. 🌸
Ah that’s lovely to hear from a fellow autumn! Yes I love all the neutrals to be honest. I have to remind myself to use some of the more vibrant colours in the palette as well! The green of the dress is also an autumn colour and I love it!! Thank you!
😂 it was fun wasn’t it! I’d forgotten how much I love a rummage at the rag market 😂. You definitely need to get making, don’t let it all languish in the stash like I do 🤦♀️
Beautiful makes. Retreat sounds amazing. I am so glad you had a chance to spend the weekend sewing with friends You picked fabolous fabrics. For jersey dresses, I love Tres Belle and Be Dreamy both by Ellie and Mac.
Ah thank you yes loved it all!! Thanks for the recommendations, I’ll have a look at those and you’ve just reminded me I have an Ellie and Mac jersey pattern bought ages ago and never made, I must search that one out too. Can’t even remember the name of it! 🤦♀️
Yes! You got that amazing fabric! I haven’t got a clue what I’m making with mine, but the rose gold striped denim is going to be eith a pair of Mitchell pants or a jumpsuit xx
Fish and wood fabric off the market floor😂😂😂😂. Priceless ❤. Lovely fabric though and great pattern idea for it. I think every sewer in the country has serious weekend retreat envy. I certainly do. Love both your makes. I have the Soliflore paper pattern traced and cut out- just need to get on with selecting my fabric from my (very small) stash!! A bit nervous but will have to dive in. I have done plackets before but the angle of the Soliflore looks a bit more tricky. You have done yours beautifully. 😊 Lynne
Ah thank you so much!! 🥰😂. Yes seeing retreats are even more lovely than I thought they’d be! Thats exciting that you’re making the Soliflore. Definitely watch the sew along video over and over and take your time with the placket. As I said in the video, I was glad I had busy fabric, perhaps that will help with your fabric choice?! Good luck it’s a lovely dress! x
Ooh is that the cape dress? I love that pattern! I don’t have it but have been tempted to buy it before. Thank you, will definitely bear that in mind, it’s a gorgeous pattern! 🥰
Ah thank you, I just looked up the Spanish missions as I didn’t know anything about them, I totally get what you mean, the architecture is beautiful isn’t it? x
@@sewsarahstyle I just moved to New Mexico and there are so many here. They are gorgeous. In Tucson, Arizona they have the oldest church in continuous use built by Catholic missionaries and indigenous people. The Native Americans stuck in animal motifs within the religious murals, a tradition that continues at the pueblos in New Mexico. The murals that capture both traditions are unique and beautiful.
Thank you so much I have learnt something new from this, have really enjoyed looking into it, you’re lucky to live amongst such fantastic architecture! 😊
Do you know, as I was talking about it, I was thinking that! I think it’s quite unusual, but who knows? Had it not had the sticker on I would never have known.
Love the fish and wood pulp - LOL
😂 it’s a strange mix isn’t it! 😂😂
I love your - it is interesting - probably the most boring interesting, made from fish waste fabric description lol! I love that you went into this detail! I do love the dress, I definitely think you need more :-)

I hadn’t been for a while, but forgot how much fun it is, I love a rummage as you could probably tell! 😂
What a fab weekend you ladies had! Definitely wish I was there!
We will definitely get to the rag market one day 🤩
Ooh yes you should go, it’s not always good fabric wise, it can be a bit hit and miss, but it is definitely a different fabric shopping experience 😂
Oh both of your makes are fantastic. I wish we were back there, I'm missing you girls. X
Ah thank you! Yes I’m missing everyone too, was such a lovely weekend from start to finish! 🥰
Looked like fun. I love your dress. ❤️💙💜

That mesh fabric is just gorgeous.ove your Maison Fauve dress & in love with the simplicity of the fibremood dress 👌🥰🫶🏻
Ooh thank you so much!! Yes I thought the mesh was a great find, looking forward to getting it made up.

Love your makes!! :+)
Thank you so much!! 😊
Great vlog as always you didn’t say how much you paid for the Tencel the wood and fish fabric lol. Thanks for sharing your makes they are lovely ❤
😂 I realised that afterwards, sorry! Should have said it was £1 🤣
I so want some woven interfacing 🤩
Yes I’m looking forward to seeing the difference it makes in my sewing.
I think the peach fabric would look nice with pattern V1579. Just a thought.
Ooh is that the cape dress? I love that pattern! I don’t have it but have been tempted to buy it before. Thank you, will definitely bear that in mind, it’s a gorgeous pattern! 🥰
That sheer material reminds me of the Spanish missions you find in the U.S. Southwest. But you’re probably right it’s more Moroccan. Nice fabric.
Ah thank you, I just looked up the Spanish missions as I didn’t know anything about them, I totally get what you mean, the architecture is beautiful isn’t it? x

Another fabric to avoid for me as I'm vegan so thank you so much for that information. One I have never heard of 😮🤩

@@sewsarahstyle indeed. Such an odd thing. I will definitely be looking closer at labels now 🤔
