Love your fabric haul and your fabulous ideas what you what to make with them. I sometimes think that the dreaming up of what a piece of fabric could be is the best bit of sewing lol. I like that unusual green fabric with the animal print/flowers on. I might pop up to Abakhan myself and purchase some as its only 4 miles away from where I live (I'm so lucky). I go in for a zip or something that I need for a project and always come out of Abakhan later with at least a couple of fabrics. I also find that the staff in the Hanley branch are so very nice and helpful. Thankyou for sharing your experience.
Hi I was fortunate to work at an Abakan store which unfortunately closed just a couple of tips if you go again - you can have the pieces in the baskets cut down you don't have to have the full piece so long as what's left is a metre also the baskets are approx 1 metre wide so you can gauge how long the piece is, glad you enjoyed your visit 😊
Great fabrics Adele. You dropped on there. I never seem to get anything much whenever I go in 😢. I love the lawn and the last fabric the best although they are all great. I see from the beginning of the vlog the old bus station and shops are all demolished and boarded around. I hope they revamp the whole area as its very run down. Such a shame as it was once a great town many years ago
I loved a l your fabrics.The brushed cotton is so lovely I think it is too nice for pyjamas. The green hounds tooth fabric is so gorgeous it is going to look stunning as a trouser suit.I am looking forward to seeing your makes.
You made me laugh re the trouser suit dream. I think we are all guilty of such dreams. See a fab fabric, see in your head what you will make and how gorgeous you’ll look in it, and totally forget your existing stash and how much sewing time you don’t have…. Just done the same myself on line!

Unfortunately Liverpool closed the upstairs floor where they kept the fabrics on rolls, and everything is squeezed on the ground floor now. Always hut and miss what they have in the basket. Mostyn is a great day out, we did a weekend in Chester (small store there) and drive to Mostyn. Was a good road trip 😊 chester is beautiful.
What a fantastic haul Adele! Abakhan is my go-to fabric shop as we have one not to far away in Bolton. I have just made my daughter a coat in the black and white houndstooth fabric and it looks great even if I do say so myself.😂

I like you in the browns and camels too though so maybe you are a bit of a blend of the seasons and why you suit creany white so much [Rhea top!] Could I ask you a question about plisse as you are the only person I know who has sewn with it. How does it cut out and how does it sew - is it just like a woven or more a knit? I have this fabulous fabric and want to make the Style Arc Toni which is for woven or stable knit fabric but am very nervous about how to sew with plisse. Thanks so much Sue x
