    Japan's infamous war to invade British india during WW2 was fought in the northeast India- Battle of Imphal(Imphal being my hometown). I don't know how many Japanese today are aware of this that many Japanese are laid to rest along with the British troops in the WW2 cemetery in imphal. People of homestate Manipur, the villagers helped Japanese troops with food during WW2...the Japanese troops tried to buy food from the villagers with Japanese currency(useless to the villagers in that time) and the Japanese troops never hurt the villagers...many died due to harsh terrain and they couldn't go back to Burma...the hills they fought are still haunted by their souls...the villagers still to these days reported sightings of Japanese troops' ghosts from time to time...Japanese Embassy officials still visit my state time to time due to the significance of Japanese troops who died here and Japanese govt have supported financially many state govt programs in my state and there's even a film based on true story "My Japanese Niece" filmed in Manipur based on the story a Japanese soldier who never returned home after WW2 and lived like a local with the villagers and its the story of his niece's journey to find his legacy and belongings(he passed away long time ago) in the village ...don't know how many Japanese are aware of how Japan's downfall in the Indian subcontinent started with their defeat in the battle of Imphal

    Almost all of those interviewed were nice enough to say good about Indians. One gentleman told that Indians do not think about others, which is very true. In general, Indians think about themselves and their family first, something no one will deny. Indians live all over the world, but obey local laws and make no troubles.
    I too live abroad, but whenever I visit India, I get sick too. #1 advise is drink boiled water only.

      Japanese are known to work as a team and think of others over their own interest hence the uncle mentioned that Indians think of themselves -in context that they don’t access the situation or act as the Japanese around them act. His statement didn’t really mean that Indians are selfish but a mare comparison to Japanese who are way too considerate of others which obviously Indians or any other country residents aren’t.

    • @asmirann3636
      @asmirann3636 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@induchopra3014 Asking is different than caring.
      Japanese people are very respectful of other people and the surroundings. They follow rules, keep the cities clean, are honest, work hard - all to ensure harmony in society.
      Indians are not respectful to each other. They do not follow rules, dirty the cities and have no issues with dishonesty. They work only for their own self without any social responsibility. Have you seen the way people drive on roads.
      Sabko sirf apna dekhna hai. Kachra Karo, thuko, road ke rules nahin follow Karo, chori Karo, corruption Karo, ek doosre ki burayi Karo aur phir bolo Mera Desh mahan.

    • @asmirann3636
      @asmirann3636 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Kate-bv2nq Very good explanation. Japanese work and live harmoniously within their society.
      Indians create trouble within their own societies by only thinking about themselves. Selfish is the right word for such behaviour. Over this no sense of social responsibility.

    Hello. I'm indian who lives in japan from last half and year. As per my experience old japanese are quite impressive about indians. Whenever I get interacted with elder people I realised that they've lots of stereotypical thoughts about indians not bad but good. Like they thought indians are smart, work in japan as IT professional (I'm an IT professional) but not every indian.
    Once a 67 year grandpa asked me to take picture with their grandchildren because I'm tall girl with big eyes and looks very smart.
    I'd really get confused because this is first time I got in incident like this😅. And when I tell about my background they'd get more curious and they also impressed by me because I did speak Japanese very well. Although Japan is very well nation by people

    First of all, thank you *_Soichiro_* for bringing us the honest opinions of these very wise elderly people of Japan. You've done a great job.
    I'm disappointed to hear the first uncle's views on Indians. He talks highly of India but has presented his honest opinions on Indians in Japan I think. He's old and wise enough to put forward a straight point of view. I respect his views and hope other Indians in Japan, if they're watching this, correct their behavior. Like he said, maybe not everyone is like that, but sure enough if he's noticed the trend, then there's probably quite a few people behaving like that. Indian culture, like Japanese culture teaches politeness and being well behaved. A lot of the values in both the cultures are shared. But I'm afraid that the people are distancing themselves or going away from the culture a lot and that is the root cause why they start behaving like this. I sure hope this changes in the future.

    2:50 Indians don't smile much after seeing Japanese because Japanese people are extremely rude to Indians!
    I lived in Japan for around 1.5 years, and I always got the vibe from all the Japanese people that they don't think of us Indians as worthy of love, friendship, and equal treatment and they put us into stereotypes like poor, curry eater, etc!
    On my 2nd day in Japan, I attended one Matsuri festival back in April 2018, We were standing in a long queue I asked one Japanese girl(who might be in her 20s or something) about the importance of Matsuri in English, and she said she doesn't know English.
    Then, I noticed that one European guy came and asked the same question to that Japanese girl and she started explaining the importance of the Matsuri to the guy in fluent English! I was flabbergasted by this behavior!
    Also, If I sit in a subway near Japanese people, they just stand up and leave(Many of my black friends also have this experience)
    Why would anyone smile back at you if you behave so rudely to them?
    To all the Japanese people, please remember that your country is getting old, and India is still young and gaining power, it'll be extremely powerful in the next 10 years(It's already the fifth largest economy and not a poor country anymore), if you are still behaving so rudely with Indians like this, such behavior will come and bite you hard one day!

    • @allindiaprowrestling8676
      @allindiaprowrestling8676 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's the same in India. People treat white people better than black people.
      Anyway, Indians usually don't want to learn or assimilate with the local culture. Of course, there will always be a wall between Indian and a Japanese in that case.

    I would just like to correct one point.Indians are one of the warmest people around. They dont smile because they think it will be intruding. But if you talk to them, you'll realize a complete difference in your opinion :)
    And yeah..Indians kind of dont care about what others might think. They do what the situation feels is right. But if they are told about something, then they take care. Thats mostly the case, not 100%. Love from an indian girl

    It’s like what the third or the fourth guy said- we can’t pin point who’s Indian who’s not. I look like a Filipino but I’m Indian and people assume I’m a hafu. So we can’t generalize and say they all have bad manners etc. cause when you look from afar without interacting with someone- you could be assuming their entire identity wrong. If we ever cross ways, your first guess will never be I’m from India!
