I'm Japanese. the difficult point is the countries you don't wanna visit is not always the ones you hate, even if the places are kinda dangerous, some guys would still be interested in the countries. And from my perspective, most of them are just "not motivated" to visit there for now, because of not being safe, not being hygienic, international situations and so on, rather than hate the places. So, different nuances from hating I guess. If you use the term of "hate" in this video, it seems a too strong expression, can't say the appropriate one.
Ig he asked them dont want to visit too thats why they answered in such way but yeah I agree it doesn't mean they hate those countries but more like not comfortable going there
As a Thai person who is currently studying in Paris I also had the same romanticized version before i actually lived here. I’ve had some bizarre encounter in the paris metro that made me appreciate my country more. In conclusion each country have their own strong and weak point, I hope fear and public assumption especially about hygiene won’t make people hesitate to travel to different country in Asia!
thank you sadly the media knows how to destroy people's mind and worst that i don't understand is that death is everywhere in both develop and not develop countries death is everywhere even in my country it's not just in syria or UKraine or whatever
As an Asian international student in the Wesr, I can confirm. And now I find that media in Western country only portray a good image and good at covering up their issue, therefore lots of Asians ppl tend tend to perceive they are the best. Meanwhile, media from the West only show negative sides of other countries, especially tarnish reputation of China
Paris is a literal dump. It's like some dystopian sci-fi slums lol. Rubbish everywhere, boarded up dangerous looking homes. But the architecture is all 19th century looking at the same time. The streets are full of people trying to scam tourists etc. Much worse than London tbh.
@@ThienTran-mg4bo did you know they're getting tired of all the tourists? I don't blame theme. @@gibberishboner8776 it's not only about "Politeness". As an Asian who sort of understand Japanese culture and theories, I can tell you most of them are educated not to be "different" /not encouraged to criticize. Their language is very poor of "swearing vocabularies". They believe everything has spirit, included speech, which means if they swear to someone, that "speech spirit" would reflex to themselves and cause them trouble. Criticizing in public especially due to their own opinion is equal to "showing themselves as a bad person" in public. That's why for those people who said about hate, they usually choose those countries which are far from Japan(definitely not neighborhoods, even they thought so), and the reason would also be something obvious and well known by everyone such as "safety, hygiene". You can say Japanese people generally have 2nd face and they also have higher social pressure than western countries(so do other east Asian countries) It's not a bad or good thing. For tourists, you can enjoy the best service /attitude to customer in the world. But if you work as a worker there, you have to burden much much pressure. Their culture can be harsh in certain ways(at places having less people). E.g. if you don't speak good Japanese(pronounciation, grammar or most important the "respect form"), "some people"(though not majority) might actually scold you. However, I still believe one of the reasons why they are so "polite" is also related to their good public education, that can't be denied yes
I understood what they meant. Rather than having a firm hatred towards a country they'd simply prefer not to go to some countries due to specific reasons.
Their culture is soft, and says things indirectly and avoids negative expressions, I believe they said the country which they hate but paraphrased to softer and less negative ones
@@JL-zl7de I was shocked when they mentioned Venezuela, maybe I expected some Japanese to say other countries, like Nicaragua, Colombia, or Cuba, since no one wants dictators embracing those countries 😮
Basically, as japanese, I don't like speaking apearently about things I dislike, especially things are sencitve. I think japanese have some hasitating to open their thinking that deny something or someone. We are feared about getting negative labeling from people, even if it is saying about only just ourselves feelings, and even it come from on understanding others and other opinion. Especially at public place, it become strong power. In the video, their answer is not about the country they hate but country they need to avoid visitiing for themselves.
I noticed they avoided to name the countries and preferred to say generic things like "unsafe countries", they seem to be scared of saying something offensive. That's nice of them
As a Japanese, I really love Southeast Asia. I have been to Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam. They were really wonderful countries! Please stop spreading false perceptions by interviewing only a few people of a certain age group.
Japan took interest them in WW2 and took over the Southeast Asia and massacred a bunch of people instead of helping its Allies in Operation Barbarossa. Some connection?
I use to work for a major airline & Japanese tourists visiting the US were always polite & respectful. A couple times, I helped Japanese tourists with issues & they were calm & respectful & professional. I am impressed with their culture (despite some of their not so nice history from long ago). 🙂
He was interviewing the same generation as he is. I wonder what elder people, like who was born in 40-60-s years of previous century would say to him. I think it is against local traditions to just aproach a stranger who is triply older than you with microphone and camera, and start asking what country do you hate. But the video could be much more informative if he was not so shy about it :)
I'm surprised no Japanese said they hate or have a problem with the U.S. considering the U.S. dropped two atomic bombs on Japan. There's not much grudges from WWII. It helps that there have been strong economic ties between Japan and U.S. that have benefited both countries.
The word hate is too strong to answer for young Japanese who are more conservative. Thanks for the host by rephrasing the question to more subtle one. Btw, Southeast Asian countries is a must to visit. I always love to travel to Vietnam, Thailand , Indonesia , Malaysia and the Philippines having accustomed to City life in Singapore. Ive lived in three countries in my life. UK, SPAIN and CHINA. For me the percentages of good to bad people in each country are about the same BUT its the LEVELS of behaviour that are different. for me, the overall best people I have interacted with are the Chinese. the overall worst are the British (although I dont mean white English specifically, i mean the people of all races and cultures that you meet in the UK and that includes some very disgusting people). Overall Spain was somewhere in the middle. I hope I live in China or somewhere in Asia for the rest of my life. I NEVER want to go back to the UK but if Japan or China or Thailand accepted multiculturalism, left wing liberalism and multi racial communities then those countries would also become disgusting places to live very quickly.
I'm Japanese. On the internet, China, South Korea, North Korea, and Russia are said to be countries that people dislike. Also, my favorite countries include Taiwan and Thailand.
As a person who loves traveling so much, I basically won't judge the country until I have visited it myself. Basically, I want to visit a lot of places without having to concern or speculate bad things at first place. I even want to visit all countries in Africa and South America, Iraq, Iran, etc. They have great histories, cultures and landscapes...why not?? I have covered most European countries and got bored seeing the same buildings, etc. They are also super expensive. It's time to move on to other more exotic countries.
@lap chan been to those countries too, in fact I used to live for around 7 months in Taiwan. I am now setting my target at the middle east continents. I just came back from Turkey and I had great experience. Looking forward to another trip to Egypt and Jorday in December 😊
As a Chinese, I like this video and how these people in Japan responded to the question. They are very polite and kind, and avoid talking about “hate”, but instead, talk about some facts, such as safety or weather. Personally, I like Japan a lot, and I hope these two countries (China and Japan) can get along well with each other and be good neighbors!
There are still a lot of Japanese people who don't like Chinese people because there is no end to Chinese people causing trouble in Japan 😂 I don't understand why people come all the way to Japan to do such things 😅 lol

Very interesting. And you do a very good job of re-wording your questions in a way that Japanese people feel ok to answer truthfully. Like culturally, they do not want to insult another country by saying they "hate" it. But they will answer the question " what country would you NOT like to go to?" This brings me so much more understanding of Japanese culture, brings me even more respect for Japanese. Thank you, from California
Not sure if it typically Japanese to not want to express hating a certain country. It's much more individual and might correlate with indoctrination/propaganda.
Hello ! May Allah protect and guide you to his light and happiness in this life and the hereafter, God bless, Ameen. Excuse me for giving a little presentation of Islam, because it is very misunderstood nowadays, especially on those « Antichrist's » times, where media and politics are mixed to distort history and truth. And terrorists (puppets of the Antichrist) who misinterpret verses, out of ignorance and political motivations, and take them out of historical context (just like radical atheists do by the way), don't help either. Thank you very much for your time. Islam is an arabic word that means the Surrender to the One and Only God, our Creator, Protector, Provider, who gives us life and all that we have, we are safe and sound by his will and grace, we are His and to Him we return, and we have to thank him in this trial life by submitting to him by our free will, or later in the Day of judgment when it's too late to save our own skin. Islam was the original Religion descended to earth from heaven with Adam and Eve (peace and blessing be upon them) in the beginning of humanity. and was passed to people with the succession of the 124 000 prophets and 315 messengers of God to all nations and civilizations since, passing by Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ismaël, Joseph, Moses, Aaron, Joshua, David, Solomon and Jesus (Peace and blessing be upon them) during the history of mankind, the last replaces and completes the previous, until the succession of the last messenger of God fourteen centuries ago, Muhammad (Peace and blessing be upon him) to complete the noble morals of all mankind, to bring humans and jinns out of darkness into light, and to purify people's religion and belief from corruption and polytheism, and return it to purity and true monotheism, like it was in the times of the prophets (Peace and blessing be upon them). Many Religions that we know nowadays, at their beginning were true and under Islam, initiated by one of the prophets of God, but their original teachings, history and scriptures have been corrupted over time with falsification and polytheism, or lost and replaced with false ones. That's why Islam is the only Religion accepted by God nowadays, which consists in bearing witness that there is no god besides Allah (God in Aramaic, the original language of Jesus and the Gospel), and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, just like Jesus and Moses and others are His servants and messengers. Never a messenger of God said he was God or literally son of God, it was the people after him who changed the words of God and corrupted the Religion. God is unique and absolute, He does not need to have a family and sons or to associate anyone else with His kingdom, He can simply create whatever He wants, everything belongs to Him, and to Him everything will return. Allah said in Surah Al-Mu’minun : “God has never begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what it has created, and some of them would have gained supremacy over others. Glory be to God, far beyond what they describe. The Knower of the hidden and the manifest. He is exalted, far above what they associate. (91-92 / Translated by ITANI). Allah means the one and only God, the God of all prophets and creatures, the creator of the universe and mankind, and the Master of the Day of judgment, where our destiny, Hell or Paradise, is decided based on our faith and deeds in this trial life, and above all, Allah's mercy. Allah said in Surah Al-Ikhlas : In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful. Say, “He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none comparable to Him.” (1-4 / Translated by ITANI). Allah said in Surah An-Nisa : O FOLLOWERS of the Gospel! Do not overstep the bounds [of truth] in your religious beliefs, and do not say of God anything but the truth. The Christ Jesus, son of Mary, was but God's Apostle - [the fulfilment of] His promise which He had conveyed unto Mary - and a soul created by Him. Believe, then, in God and His apostles, and do not say, "[God is] a trinity". Desist [from this assertion] for your own good. God is but One God; utterly remote is He, in His glory, from having a son: unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth; and none is as worthy of trust as God. Never did the Christ feel too proud to be God's servant, nor do the angels who are near unto Him. And those who feel too proud to serve Him and glory in their arrogance [should know that on Judgment Day] He will gather them all unto Himself: (171-172 / Translated by Muhammad Asad). Allah the Most Merciful said in Surah Ali-Imran : Behold, the only [true] religion in the sight of God is [man's] self-surrender unto Him; and those who were vouchsafed revelation aforetime took, out of mutual jealousy, to divergent views [on this point] only after knowledge [thereof] had come unto them. But as for him who denies the truth of God's messages - behold, God is swift in reckoning! Thus, [O Prophet,] if they argue with thee, say, "I have surrendered my whole being unto God, and [so have] all who follow me!" - and ask those who have been vouchsafed revelation aforetime, as well as all unlettered people, "Have you [too] surrendered yourselves unto Him?" And if they surrender themselves unto Him, they are on the right path; but if they turn away - behold, thy duty is no more than to deliver the message: for God sees all that is in [the hearts of] His creatures. Verily, as for those who deny the truth of God's messages, and slay the prophets against all right, and slay people who enjoin equity - announce unto them a grievous chastisement. It is they whose works shall come to nought both in this world and in the life to come; and they shall have none to succour them. (19-22 / Translated by Muhammad Asad).. Salam (Peace)

I agree. As a SE Asian living in UK and travelling in Europe, many Japanese people think that EU countries are like what they just see in socmed, it creates fantasies. That is why when they finally visit, it could disappoint them big time.
The person in the red shirt at 2:30 speaks out a point of view which is total make sense to me as a people from Hong Kong now moved and live in the UK. I think not only the expense or tax are so high in Euro countries, and it is the cultural difference affecting to people in Europe that how they are shops. People do shopping but unlike East Asian as there were huge shopping buildings estates groups like in Tokyo or other cities in Japan, or like malls in Hong Kong, it is so convenient in East Asian cities to shops around.

As someone from the United States who can only speak English, I had no problem understanding the situation. There are many similar interview videos here that have a broad range of responses. I do agree the word "hate" has a strong meaning, but I picked up on what was actually meant immediately. I get the overall idea of the video and it's interesting to see the answers given.
You know what always baffles me is that how these "developed" country people always talk about how unsafe some other countries are and they would not visit (which is fine but they stereotype a bit too much) BUT when a person from any 3nd world country or other ethinic group visit their countries their very "safe" countries turn hostile to those people, there is xenophobia, racism and just hate towards anyone who is NOT white (in asian countries). In the west its not very different story but because of asian fetish they are still favorable ? somewhat, than other minorities from either different countries or less developed part of asia (ik my phrasing sounds bad i don't mean it like that plus i agree asians have there fair share of unequal treatment too, my point still stands)
I noticed many of the interviewers mention "tall" buildings when they talk about countries they want to visit. I lived in Tokyo when I was little, and if I heard/remember correctly, I think the reason there are not as many tall buildings in Tokyo is the possibility of earthquakes.
Yes and Singapore is generally considered to be relatively safe from earthquakes and tsunamis due to its location in the stable part of the Sunda Plate. The country is not located near any major fault lines or tectonic plate boundaries that are associated with high seismic activity. However, it is important to note that no location is completely immune to earthquakes or tsunamis. In the event of a major earthquake or tsunami in a neighboring country, Singapore may still be affected, although the impact is likely to be less severe compared to countries located closer to the source of the event. In recent years, Singapore has taken steps to enhance its disaster preparedness and response capabilities, including conducting regular emergency drills and investing in early warning systems. This is in recognition of the fact that while the risk of earthquakes and tsunamis is relatively low, the consequences of such events can be severe.

I’m a Chinese. I would say, in general, Chinese younger generations don’t hate Japan. Conversely, the younger generations like Japan because of the similarities between cultures and particularly the strong culture outputs of animations and games by Japan in recent years. However, if you asked older generations then the answer would more likely to be Japan, because of the historical issues that we all know. Also, in my opinion, we don’t experience that period so I don’t think anyone can judge on the older generations opinions. As they experienced tragedies we don’t have, we can’t imagine how hard/painful it could be. As for myself, I came to Australia after completing high school in China. Now I’ve graduated from university and working in Australia temporarily. I also study Japanese as my second language. What I learned most in this multicultural country is don’t judge anyone based on their race, nationality, etc. You can only assess someone based on morals or etiquette rather than using previous bias, stereotypes or prejudice of that nation/culture. Judging others by their backgrounds can lead to losing potential friends and it’s not wise. Hopefully, more people can learn from my experience (including the old generation Chinese). Additionally, I hope we can treat history as experience. Use history as a warning, as a stepping stone to avoid war and conflict in the future, rather than use it as a reason to blame or harm people.

I’ve heard a lot of storys saying that many Japanese workers are crying when their company tell them to go back to Japan, the reason is that they get a lot of privilege in Thailand, which same amount of salary they are normal average person in Japan but in Thailand they become rich dude, and the company give a lot of benefit, they stay in nice bigger apartment, play golf on weekend, have driver, maid, kids in international school etc. and Thai people are kind and relaxed not so strict like in Japan. there are also a lot Japanese TH-camr who stay and do travel vlog in Thailand. So it’s quite surprise me to hear that some Japanese don’t like Thailand or SEA. I mean it’s less develop but it’s also cheaper with kind heart people. Btw some Japanese even said Japanese food in Thailand is more delicious than in Japan ^^

When it comes to conversation with Japanese people, they’d appreciate it if you know some basic Japanese even saying some greeting words :) but as someone mentioned above, English words would be easier for them to kind of understand since not many people know Chinese! I hope you’ll enjoy trip to Japan 🙌👌
Because of China, Japan and South Korea, we have been together for too long.Although sometimes we often quarrel. But it still feels like a very familiar neighbor, more intimate than people from other countries. Although they sometimes quarrel with each other, they all think from the bottom of their hearts that the other two countries still have a relatively strong place.

You have to cover their face for the Japanese to be honest about which country they hate. Most of them will not say what’s in their mind. It’s their culture and way of life to not to show what they feel to others.

japanese are genuinely shy by nature, they really look cute all of them. oh and they have no inflated ego like koreans. also their reasons for not liking a country is because of war and safety , not because of racism like korean survey
I am Korean and I think Japanese people are so considerate and warm hearted. They do not mention any country that they hate, and rather only comment some places that are dangerous or unhygenic. I am also glad one of them mentioned she likes Korea. I love Japan too! 日本大好きです!
I had great Korean friends when I was college in the US. They sometimes invite me to their hot pod party or treat me their Korean house made foods. I'm not in touch with them now but I cherish the days with them. 한국 사랑!
I'm Argentine. It doesn't surprise me that many Japanese people choose Scandinavian countries as their favourites, as there's a correlation between those cultures on frugality, high education levels, a somehow isolated historical development and excellent standards of living. Hope to visit both Japan and Scandinavia someday.
My cousins went traveling to Japan for 12 days. She and her family talked positive things about Japan and Japanese people all the way home from LAX airport. I want to visit Japan one day too.
Being in foreign country like Japan, which way more technologically developing than ours, are an awesome experience... But I realise that what makes it felt like that is the Japanese people themselves, they are discipline, well mannered, and quite polite at the same time... Even when a country is set their system like Japan, Singapore for example, the people are the one that make it totally different
as a korean perspective, china, japan and korea are really familiar with each other because of long history. so they feel comfortable than any other countries. but dont know europe or america, southest asia. so they don't know how good or bad that countries are. and when i was young, i saw a lot of picture and video in sns about europe, and i felt i wanted to go europe but when i was in some europe countries, that countries are all diffrent. something was good, but something was bad. the southest asia as well. actually young people just know the countries by watching the sns. so they feel southest asia is dangerous or not good hygiene condition. i can understand. but as u know, they have other good things. they just dont know that things. so i hope dont blame them. and korea, japan, china people likes to travel southest asia.. that is real... and actually, they don't hate southest Asia
I agree with the guy at 5:45 - even countries in war have intrigue for me. They have wonderfully rich histories and cultures buried under all the chaos. I wish the wars would stop so we could all appreciate the beauty of cultures. I want to go everywhere. The only country I don't like right now is my own, USA, because they are trying to go backward and they are also one of the biggest reasons for a lot of the chaos in those "dangerous" countries. But even in the U.S. there is some ancient cultures whose hearts still beat depite colonizers trying to destroy them. So, I guess I really appreciate Turtle Island... not really the U.S.A.
Yes, it's more appropriate using the words, "You do not wish to visit?"
Exactly, I was thinking the same
agreed. Instead of hate they could say dislike. Hate is too strong.

Paris Syndrome is real.
Paris is a literal dump. It's like some dystopian sci-fi slums lol. Rubbish everywhere, boarded up dangerous looking homes. But the architecture is all 19th century looking at the same time. The streets are full of people trying to scam tourists etc.

It's hard for Japanese people to criticize in public.
It can be another story on internet such as 2CH though.
@@larghedoggo9607 what's 2CH ? does Japan have its own secret internet?
google the word *Polite*
You can say Japanese people generally have 2nd face and they also have higher social pressure than western countries(so do other east Asian countries)
It's not a bad or good thing.

"Hate"と"Don't like"と"Don't want to visit"では、かなり意味合いが変わってきます。

You can tell that all of the people questioned are being polite and do not want to say they hate any country.

As a Chinese, I also want to go to Japan. Do you have any Japanese friends to talk to me about the real situation in Japan?😊
If you are not good at Japanese, it is much better to use English..Even if you say hello in Japanese
@@lael7233 ok Thank u 🫶🏻
Japanese here! Most places have Chinese signs so I’m sure you won’t get lost or anything at least!

Chinese willing to invade both of your contries ????
@@MobileGamingWithTar Why did China invade Japan and South Korea? Rational and peaceful economic development will benefit 8 billion people. China in 21st century will not bully small countries like USA and Russia
@@yannishan2572 Russia is not the bully, the US and its perverted allies are. The US overthrew the Ukrainian government in 2014 and has controlled it ever since, Ukraine has been bombing eastern Ukraine where the Russian refugees went SINCE 2014. Close to 5000 missiles have been launched into eastern Ukraine, killing nearly 15,000 civilians, mostly ethnic Russians. This is a proxy war DESIGNED by the US. Russia ENTERED an EXISTING war to save its civilians.
The US is a shythole government, it's english speaking allies are aiding and abetting a government that dropped an average of 110 bombs a day since its illegal invasion of Iraq which killed a million people under FALSE pretenses of weapons of mass destruction that DID NOT EXIST.
What you are talking about? "china" is a 20th century invented concept, china of today got no relation to the kingdoms that ruled china. And no, Korean and Japan don't like china recent polls showed more than 90% of Koreans don't like chinese.

Hi i Live in Bali, Indonesia. I really touched by the answer from the second guy u interview. Arigato…
I Hope one day i can visit ur Country
You have to cover their face for the Japanese to be honest about which country they hate. Most of them will not say what’s in their mind. It’s their culture and way of life to not to show what they feel to others.
The girl and guy who wanted to visit my country Sweden 🇸🇪 in northen Europe are very welcome. O, by the way you all are ..ofcourse. I hope and have plans for visit Japan too. Its a very interesting country with old traditional culture too like my country and you have places like beautiful Okinawa and historical places too. I wish you all people in Japan a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Greetings from Sweden.
japanese are genuinely shy by nature, they really look cute all of them. oh and they have no inflated ego like koreans. also their reasons for not liking a country is because of war and safety , not because of racism like korean survey
oh.. you are dreaming🤣
What did koreans ever do to you...
Cry more 😂
LOL

I am Korean and I think Japanese people are so considerate and warm hearted. They do not mention any country that they hate, and rather only comment some places that are dangerous or unhygenic. I am also glad one of them mentioned she likes Korea. I love Japan too! 日本大好きです!
I love Korea!
I had great Korean friends when I was college in the US. They sometimes invite me to their hot pod party or treat me their Korean house made foods.
I'm not in touch with them now but I cherish the days with them. 한국 사랑!
ロサリオとロハスJrとアルカンタラには心底がっかりしました。それ以外は韓国とてもいい国です。
I'm Argentine. It doesn't surprise me that many Japanese people choose Scandinavian countries as their favourites, as there's a correlation between those cultures on frugality, high education levels, a somehow isolated historical development and excellent standards of living. Hope to visit both Japan and Scandinavia someday.
My cousins went traveling to Japan for 12 days. She and her family talked positive things about Japan and Japanese people all the way home from LAX airport. I want to visit Japan one day too.
Glad to hear, thank you for your kind words! Please come to Japan one day 😊
Being in foreign country like Japan, which way more technologically developing than ours, are an awesome experience... But I realise that what makes it felt like that is the Japanese people themselves, they are discipline, well mannered, and quite polite at the same time... Even when a country is set their system like Japan, Singapore for example, the people are the one that make it totally different
as a korean perspective, china, japan and korea are really familiar with each other because of long history. so they feel comfortable than any other countries. but dont know europe or america, southest asia. so they don't know how good or bad that countries are. and when i was young, i saw a lot of picture and video in sns about europe, and i felt i wanted to go europe but when i was in some europe countries, that countries are all diffrent. something was good, but something was bad. the southest asia as well. actually young people just know the countries by watching the sns. so they feel southest asia is dangerous or not good hygiene condition. i can understand. but as u know, they have other good things. they just dont know that things. so i hope dont blame them. and korea, japan, china people likes to travel southest asia.. that is real... and actually, they don't hate southest Asia

omg as a singaporean, i love the guy for mentioning that he likes singapore! thank you!!
