For her she never saw a person like you that's why she freaked out. I understand you felt bad but for her you are something new for her. if she saw people like you on a daily basis I'm pretty sure you won't get that kind of reaction from her side. Indians are never even taught the imaginary word RACE. We therefore cannot SEE race. We cannot identify race. We know my state, outside state. Our country Indians and foreignors. Everyone from abroad is EQUALLY called VIDESHI, Bidesi, foreignor. No one looks down on a foreignor. There was HUGE complex of wanting foreign imported stuff. That is changing, Indians are valuing Made in India, swadeshi stuff. We are now proud of our roots. But we respect other cultures also equally. When we tease foreignors, we EQUALLY roast our other Indian friends.
Indians are not very sensitive to on matter of casual racism most Indians do it as means of breaking the ice, lighten the mood, they just want your attention they will also help you most if you need help. A really hateful type of racism is very uncommon in India. However both needs to be stopped casual and hateful🙏. Hateful is criminal but casual needs awareness and maturity.
True man. The one who openly use racist terms for fun are way better people than those who intentionally speak nice but you can feel their fake attitude and deep down they are racist. That’s why when I was in abroad I had the best time with locals who are very family oriented and have conservative mindset. They were way less racist (actual racist) than the modern people who have liberal mindset.

In America the first complain is about being misgendered or being racist . In India the first complain is about weather and traffic . Almost no cases of racism . 😊😊
Guests are considered as God in Indian culture. We should always respect our guests. Also, Even us locals also have same problem with our weather, when its hot, it's very hot and when it's cold, it's very cold. This is the most accurate description of Delhi NCR's weather.
yes respect the guest just like you did in the past for 1000 years it could be good for you since it worked out so well in the past by the way how do they treat you in their countries?
Native Indians are facing racism in India from people migrated from cold regions to India. They are the ones who spread this racism culture in our country.
Thank you for being their voice! It's necessary that we know both the good and the bad (if any) feedback is how we know we can help/develop both individually and as a country!
Racism is western term, the words related are spoken to make others feel inferior in other countries. But we People don't actually demean each other or make them feel lowly or inferior if we r calling them black, white, fat, thin. We use the words as their nick names since it expresses their identity, most of the time we only call our personals or relatives with these words. In the family itself siblings tease each other with racist words, sure some light hearts would take it personal but all and all that soo called 'racist words' doesn't really affect others since others know the intention of the person very well....imo
Exactly brother! There's no such thing as racism in India, just a sprinkle of discrimination against darker-skinned people, calling northeastern Indians ching chong and akin to not being Indian enough. Just a bit of a caste system here and there which results in killing one or the other, a rich-poor divide and status. There's certainly no racism indeed! :)
Indians can be racist to Indians as well 😅 Some examples: Few North Indian call South Indians dark skinned Few South Indians call North East Indians with different names In India, two guys from the same city, same state can be racist to each other. My uncles used to call me dark skinned when I was young 😂 Sometimes a person has to undergo racism, to understand what racism feels like, unfortunately. #stopracism #share #love #people#care

For foreigners some of the things might take a while to understand here. Majority of Indians right from their childhood have very thick skin and grow up saying the most offensive shit to each other. Calling others fat, black or giving them names based on physical appearance etc. is something they all laugh at, even if it is said to themselves. They are used to joking about it within themselves. Try calling an average American girl fat and you will immediately notice the difference. What our people fail to realise is that the foreigners are not used to living like us, they did not grow up like us. Our people would act the same way with them without any malice in heart following with a giggle or laughter expecting the other person would be a good sport and laugh it off but little do they know many foreigners will take offense in it.
Yah it's common like if you are friends and you aren't abusing each other I am sorry to say that person isn't friend and it's same in family too if you are criticising each other for little things then family banding is pure...... and in US or west all people are fake they are just showing off love, friends, etc. they don't care about anyone or anything that's why everyone is nice to everyone and if not then you are supposed to be enemy
If you want someone to say that yes we have faced racism, then you should talk to a Korean foreigner there will not be a single foreigner there who has not faced racism😂. It's harsh but it's the truth🤷
Sometimes foreigners think we are Rasist but we are not . Sometime we comment on friends colour , indentity etc. because of our libral culture .We even call our God "Shayam" meaning 'Black or Dark' but it's out of love not to hate someone. Yeah, I'm an Indian living here since I was born.. 27 years and I still face issues in crossing roads every now and then 😂 I'm used to it, but I am happy that transport is better than before.
We can't change the weather but it's good to know most of the foreigners are not facing any kind of racism and they understand that just because some Indians are rude to them doesn't mean every Indian is like that.
I want to add one thing after watching this video. That guy was talking about his experience of racism from a poor village girl.
I will say that's not racism. For her she never saw a person like you that's why she freaked out. I understand you felt bad but for her you are something new for her. if she saw people like you on a daily basis I'm pretty sure you won't get that kind of reaction from her side.
I saw a similar video from Africa where a white guy was vlogging in African Village and a small kid freaked out from the white guy and start running away because he thought that white guy is some kind of ghost or something because he never saw in his like a white skin and it's unusual for him. No one taught that kid racism...
Absolutely, the second guy seemed dumb even to understand.
That girl freaked cuz she must have thought someone is following.

As an Indian I can agree that I make the crossing of road harder for others:).
I am Indian and we are racist towards black people
No pretending or defending
Trust me! Good People and A.holes come in all colours, sizes, religions and nationalities.

Indians can be racist to Indians as well 😅
Some examples:
Few North Indian call South Indians dark skinned
Few South Indians call North East Indians with different names
In India, two guys from the same city, same state can be racist to each other.
My uncles used to call me dark skinned when I was young 😂
Sometimes a person has to undergo racism, to understand what racism feels like, unfortunately.

I think Xenophobia would be more correct term. I don't think Indians are Xenophobic that much. Racism in India is more like intercaste racism or Indians are more racist against another Indian than foreigners. I noticed many Indians are bit racist against North-East Indians, it's sad reality.
On the other hand, Xenophobia is a direct fear and hatred against foreigners which is more prominent in East asian countries like S. Korea, Japan etc.
