it used to be shorter than 18" until they unknowingly sold M1 carbines back to USGIs after WW2 which was 17.5" or so, so they had to change it afterwards to 16" otherwise they created tons of felons. Thats why shotguns are still 18" but rifles are 16"

Where exactly do you think the criminals get all the guns and while Mexican cartels sends drugs we send guns into their country to arm the drug dealers . Guns are readily available to purchase in multiple states that don’t require a background check just cash 💵
@@KCBluesJams Every state requires background checks. If you're doing a private sale, use some judgement. If you're in questions about the buyer, refuse the sale or require then to go through a FFL and complete a background check. If you knowingly sell a firearm to someone you think is prohibited, that makes you the criminal also. Now the ATF on the other hand sold several thousand weapons to illegal straw purchasers for over 6 years straight in an attempt to arrest the cartel buyers..... Then never arrested a single one of them. The Mexican police recovered a bunch of them at crime scenes. Thank the ATF for Mexicos complaint on guns coming from the US.

“This little piece can be used to change the firearm to make it illegal (implying more deadly)” - well, a pressure cooker can be modified to make it illegal and more deadlier, but I don’t need to fill out paperwork to buy one nor are they storming my grandma’s house and arresting her for having one….
You can buy the lower, the part with the trigger that needs to have a few holes drilled with the jig and right sized drills included. The upper which is the hammer, barrel and slide must be ordered through a firearms dealer. It can only be bought from the dealer and a background check must be done when picked up. The plastic lower which really is all that makes it a ghost gun is useless without the metal slide, barrel and firing mechanism. A 3D printed gun can't handle the minimum 20,000 Ib. per square inch of combustion of the burning powder and explode. A plastic firing pin isn't strong enough to set off the primer.
@@mortimersnerd5172 actually, the upper does not need to be shipped to an FFL as it does not have a serial number. I ordered online Friday and received it today. No checks, no nothing since it’s not the “business” end of the rifle.

"$12.000 cash money, and there's no credit card trail"... except for the fact that there's a 4473 filled out and a background check done.... and the FBI can turn that off any time they want to, to infringe upon rights...
They can, but they use an unlawful database...aka gun registry. It does exist. Tho it's not as complete as they want. They're trying to track private sales and turn us all into FFLs or criminals.
True. It is also difficult to trace a gun to the shooter when it was privately sold by a non-FFL, purchased illegally, or the serial number has been defaced. The only benefit from tracing js that it may lead to the last public sale of a firearm by an FFL.
@@BetterTextLex most all of the illegal guns coming across the border with the unstoppable drug shipments can't be traced anyway. They come from all around the world and aren't registered in the US. The ATF controls the manufacture, importation and distribution of all legal firearms in the US. They know which gun store bought which gun with which serial number and who the store sold that gun to.
@@mortimersnerd5172 That's not accurate. Most illegal firearms that can be traced in the Americas (North and South) source primarily from the US. Legal gun sales are extremely restricted with tight goverment control in the rest of the Americas. Most countries use a dual licensing/registration system where a person has to be licensed to own a firearm and the firearm also need to be registered with the police. This is usually one time of license where bribery will not get you one if you are a documented felon. Police doesn't like guns in the hands of people whom they may have to face some day on the street.

It always strikes me that stuff like this only sounds scary to people who lack an education on firearms ….. there is also a cultural shift because of a lack of that education where they see anyone who carries a gun as either a criminal or some paranoid paramilitary …… our grandparents generation was raised around firearms education and thus realized that the only thing to fear is the PERSON behind the tool and not the tool itself ……

There are many things that could have been done before the shooting to prevent him from acquiring the weapons. The system failed us and the innocent victims. You can't blame bump stocks (which were legally approved by the ATF for 10 years+ previously) for the evil that men do .. and then use that as an excuse to take away our ability to not only defend ourselves but to also enjoy the sporting aspect of shooting and training. I love it when they post a remembrance for the fallen ATF agents during Waco every year and the internet roasts them almost as hard as they roasted the Branch Davidians.
So let me get this straight an AR Pistol with a stabilizing brace makes it more stable and accurate, which makes it unusually dangerous. A Glock with a switch makes it full auto and no way to shoulder it makes it hard to control and less accurate, which makes it unusually dangerous.
I like how every thing on the table supposedly has a NFA get-around counterpart with it on the table, except say the bolt action Barret that is neither NFA or a get-around, and the m249 that is $13,000 just for the semi variant and wasn't touched the entire interview since it's just to scare the "weapons of war" folks into believing the full auto variant is flooding our streets(fun fact the 2A is useless in its purpose if it doesn't allow weapons of war), or the gawdy 1911 style cartel capper that has no reason to be on there except to say "cartel bad, ban all guns so cartel still bad". I'll grant the "expert" a micrometer of slack for not knowing how to strip a glock slide, it probably had a switch, but given that glock switches are probably the most common full auto get-around in the wild one would think the top "expert" going after these devices would know how to strip a slide with one. If they keep up this shenanigans it'll only be easier for groups like GOA, NAGR, and FPC to destroy the NFA and the full auto ban in the FOPA, so they should keep up the good work of looking like squeamish idiots afraid of touching the very devices they seek to destroy
The ATF has nine different task forces.. 10 if you count the one that gives guns to the cartel.. operation Fast and Furious, director. Don't forget you guys are the ones giving guns to the cartel..
They're treating the SBR and braced pistol the same. Ok, so if they consider them the same thing, then just treat them both as pistols with braces. That's a whole lot easier and cheaper than choosing to treat them both as SBRs. Of course ATF always, when given two options, goes with the one that creates felons and court costs. Never the other way that favors the peoples' rights, even when they are almost never used in crime and owned by the millions by the citizens... like braced pistols are.

There trying to change the laws. Ban everything. They should just ban 3D printers too.
Actually, that's not true A DIY firearm build only needs a SN if and when you later decide to sell it or give it to someone else.

If a gun is stolen you can’t trace that gun to the person who pulled the trigger.
