  • Here we go getting more travel for my Fox Factory 36 fork. 150mm to 160mm. Not to difficult to do yourself but if not comfortable you should refer to your local bike shop or send it in to fox for service.
    Thanks for Watching!

You’re putting waaaay to much grease on the air piston bud😊. You are killing the negative air chamber and choking up the equalize port making the positive and negative chambers not able to equalize proberly. That gives you bad small bump sensitivity.
Take it out again, remove all the grease and only lightly coat it with a thin layer of Gold oil. This is as perscribed from FOX also. Hope it helped✌🏻👍🏻

Cool video Brian. Can't wait to hear how the upgrade in travel works for you. I know for me, my trail bike is 120mm front and rear, so getting the Capra at 170mm is awesome. Hope you enjoy the 160mm travel.. Be safe and blessed

One thing I forgot to mention in the video is that the damper side of the fork takes a different oil on the grip 2. It takes a Fox 5w ptfe infused oil but you keep the 20wt for the air valve side of the fork. 👍

How did you like the feel of that Jeffsy after adding travel? Was it worth it? I just bought the same bike and considering this for myself.

Hello, I want to ask you something, I also have a fox 36 and my question is, I want to go from 160mm to 140mm, what should I change?

So if I have a 160 fox and I wanted to upgrade to a the damper and travel do I need a grip 2 damper specific in travel and or do I buy the damper and just get a 170mm airshaft to do so?

Smart question dude. I'm in the same boat...but in tons of supposed diy travel change videos, almost everybody forget about explaining that you need a new stem (air side) for your desired length....nevertheless you'll find specific explanation for travel limits in upgrades; for instance, can I go from a 150mm to a 170mm with the same fork? Not to mention that there's absolutely nothing about the damper side: if I replace the air stem with a shorter/longer one...is it susteinable that no adjustement is required on the damper side lenght??? Possibly nothing is required, but I'd like to know the explanation. Any helpful answer would be welcome!

Can i ask you a question? maybe i missed it in the video, now does going through this process actually increase the overall length of the Fork? I apologize if thats a really dumb question. Im asking because im thinking of using one of those Angleset kits to increase my slack from 67degrees to 66, possibly 65, I know if i did the install it that it would lower my BB, so if the Fork did increase in size it would raise the BB and kind of even things out. What do you think?
