Fun to watch the trip, but sorry about the damage. Hopefully it can be back in good condition soon. Glad you’re both okay, those sudden road hazards are awful.
Ugh! I have enjoyed watching your rode trip postings and glad to hear you're both OK after that mishap. I have an ID.4 Pro S (RWD) in a suburb outside of NYC and have not gone on any trips that require a charge. I have a home charger. The closet EA charger is three miles away and always busy- except after 10PM. The longest trip we have gone in the EV is 220 miles round trip to Philly and back to north NJ. No on road charging needed. Watching your video's and other EV road trippers, I still am not convinced that we're truly ready for those longer trips. I still use my ICE for longer distance trips (NJ to Michigan-600 miles). In gas costs- round trip it's about $150. I noticed that on your trip- the Electrify America (EA) stations were either down or to far off the highway to use. You had one charge of about $36 on your trip- not using EA. If your total costs for charging was about $70 (let's say)- I don't see the extra price difference worth it for inconvenience of all those stops! I love my EV and use it 90% of the time. In future video's could you kindly provide the costs of charging for the long trips. Maybe- I'm way off in pricing. Also glad to hear that the repair is about $500. Could you do a follow-up on how the repair process went. We're parts readily available? Time your vehicle was in the dealership? I'm also worry about getting a flat and happy to hear you did not experience. You both have a very calming demeanor and are informative. I hope your channel continues to grow and wish you the best.
The cost of charging is a good point and we’ll definitely try to out in a total cost. However, when we use Electrify America we still have the VW charging. We enjoy our EV roadtrips and have very little issues.
Your car looks really good. The black with tint & white interior. Bummer bout the road debris. I hate when that happens. Glad everyone was okay. Thx for the video. I enjoyed watching.
Yikes! I’m glad that tire incident worked out and that nobody was injured. Rubber, plastic and metal, just stuff that can be repaired. Another great video. I was stationed in the Carolinas with the Marine Corps 45 years ago and love seeing the travel sights through your lens. I’ve also been trying to incorporate the VW ID4 Nav system more in my travels based on watching you use same. Stay Safe and All the Best! Art, California.
Glad you guys are okay. Recently found this channel and subscribed. I'm considering an ID4 and I'm not sure how long you have had it, but wondering how the light color steering wheel is holding up with regard to smudges etc. Also "Modern Spare" provides spare ev tires. Might be an option if you have room for it in the trunk when traveling for peace of mind. Calling someone out for a tire change vs flat bed always seems to be much faster. Thanks for the vid.
Hello! We need to look into a Modern Spare. I’ve seen folks integrate them into the rear cargo area. We have 20k miles and have had it since Dec 2022. I treated everything with a ceramic leather protectant from the start but everything is holding up very well with no staining, including the steering wheel. Thanks for watching.

@@EVeryMile01 Thanks
Duct tape! MVP!
If that was a Tesla you'd be looking at $5000+ for the repair!
Perhaps that explains the price of insuring a Tesla.
