    Enjoyed watching your trip. I frequent that Electrify America at Harper's Station when visiting family in Cincinnati. Of course it's currently offline while they rebuild the whole thing. Same for that EA in Mentor you visited. I would agree that anecdotally the network has become more reliable of late. Still, I've never gotten the app to work right for me - I always get an error when swiping to start the charge. Tapping the phone works if the RFID readers are online, but that's been about 50/50 in my experience. Thanks for the video, subbed

Just a dumb idea, especially when our company "mandates" we all have EV's but I'm going to be in a good old combustion engine till this is fixed

    Running 70 mph is your problem. On such a short trip 70 doesn't reduce your ETA by much. But 70 dramatically reduces range.

    • @EVeryMile01
      @EVeryMile01 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Speed is a range killer for sure, but going slower really isn’t an option if you want to stay with a majority of traffic flow. The problem is the absence of a heat pump and not having on-route pre-conditioning results in longer winter trips.

    Ugh! I have enjoyed watching your rode trip postings and glad to hear you're both OK after that mishap. I have an ID.4 Pro S (RWD) in a suburb outside of NYC and have not gone on any trips that require a charge. I have a home charger. The closet EA charger is three miles away and always busy- except after 10PM. The longest trip we have gone in the EV is 220 miles round trip to Philly and back to north NJ. No on road charging needed. Watching your video's and other EV road trippers, I still am not convinced that we're truly ready for those longer trips. I still use my ICE for longer distance trips (NJ to Michigan-600 miles). In gas costs- round trip it's about $150. I noticed that on your trip- the Electrify America (EA) stations were either down or to far off the highway to use. You had one charge of about $36 on your trip- not using EA. If your total costs for charging was about $70 (let's say)- I don't see the extra price difference worth it for inconvenience of all those stops! I love my EV and use it 90% of the time. In future video's could you kindly provide the costs of charging for the long trips. Maybe- I'm way off in pricing. Also glad to hear that the repair is about $500. Could you do a follow-up on how the repair process went. We're parts readily available? Time your vehicle was in the dealership? I'm also worry about getting a flat and happy to hear you did not experience. You both have a very calming demeanor and are informative. I hope your channel continues to grow and wish you the best.

I'm considering an ID4 and I'm not sure how long you have had it, but wondering how the light color steering wheel is holding up with regard to smudges etc. Also "Modern Spare" provides spare ev tires. Might be an option if you have room for it in the trunk when traveling for peace of mind. Calling someone out for a tire change vs flat bed always seems to be much faster. Thanks for the vid.

I didn't notice much lag in max kW charging as I planned to arrive at most stops below 20% SOC. One charging session, I hit 191 kW on the 350 kW charger. The only time I noticed slow charging was in Bushnell, FL on 1 particular day....I was maxing out at 62 kW and was groaning a bit, until I talked to the 2 guys trying to charge their Rivans.....1 topped out at 58 kW and the other could not connect....I suspect those EA stations were experiencing some issues that day.

    I’ve been driving my 2023 Pro AWD ID4 for almost a year and I’m completely satisfied with it. I just prefer almost everything about it. You didn’t hit insurance costs. It seems that Model yes are quite expensive to repair and therefore to insure. Also the very sportiness of the Tesla likely contributes to higher premium costs as well. If you’re considering both, I’d suggest getting quotes for both before you buy. I’ve owned an EV for 6 years now.

    This is not the 2024, you are in a 2023.

    It’s annoying how it goes click click click with the turn signals. Maybe they need a more relaxing sounding click

    Great video as always! One minor miss, you can dim the interior lights by holding them too. It's a cool feature most people don't know about.

      Lol, I've never heard that one before! I like the looks of the sedans, especially the Model S, but their SUVs do look like they've been stung by a bee. Thanks for watching!

    How is the one pedal driving? I was told that VW didn't have full regenerative braking that could take you to a complete stop.

      @EVeryMile01 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is true. Driving in B mode will get you close, to 3-4 mph, but it does not have true one-pedal driving that will bring you to a full stop. Unfortunately.

    So it looks like VW is working on getting it's 2024 Model to be where Tesla was 5 years ago, and for more money, and crappier software. Wow, I'm impressed!
