    Coaches in general need to be reigned in. Refs have let it get way out of control. On multiple occasions last year we had coaches literally playing defense in live games (Shaka, Hurley, Buzz, Cal, etc.) and none of them received technical fouls or ejections

    hurley is insane, but I do think the fear of fouling in the colorado game changed their mindset defensively. how does a high major team get that many foul calls?

  • @ebeede01
    @ebeede01 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    You guys hit the nail on the head, Hurley can't do what he did nor can he say what he said in those games, you have to be composed as a coach or your team won't be either. The boys lost it and then came back in the second half against Memphis, but not Colorado where they never actually had it. The good thing is they have time to fix the faults like they did 2 years ago when they struggled until the NCAA tournament when they finally got their footing. Question is though, will they?
    Tuff truth for Dan Hurley is he can't take things personally when calls don't go his way because it's like what Seth Greenberg said, his antics cost the team a win against Memphis when he got his second technical. At some point he'll have to choose what's more important, his temper or coaching.

    • @michaeldavisnj88
      @michaeldavisnj88 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @jamesd126 He probably got it from his father. They are from Jersey City, NJ, me being from elsewhere in that state. Bob Sr. won at least 25 state titles at St. Anthony High from its opening in 1972 until its very closing in 2017. Bob Hurley Sr. with his St. Anthony teams also had a couple undefeated seasons and even a few national championships as well. Both Dan and Bobby Hurley (the Jr.) played for their father.
      Now it was probably never happening anyway, but imagine us Rutgers fans got Dan Hurley as our first choice in 2016 to replace Eddie Jordan whom you have to be disappointed with his coaching tenure with us because he led us to our only Final Four in 1976 and undefeated season at that point until we played in it that year. But I'm very happy with what Steve Pikiell has done with us since he arrived On The Banks.

    It’s cute when you are winning everything and “over the top” obnoxious when losing. The antics are one thing that I have never like about Hurley. Calhoun could pull it off…Hurley isn’t “blue collar” enough to get away with it. The team needs plenty of work…suck it up and coach them harder….die hard 40 year UConn fan here.

    I’m a big UConn fan and love Hurley’s passion, but his antics in this Maui Tournament have been a bit of an embarrassment for Dan. Okay he’s not happy with his team’s performance and the officiating but to be falling on the floor like a two year old little boy was ridiculously immature. This is not an example that a College Coach should be handling himself and as a role model for his players. I was concerned about his mental state this past summer when he started to divulge his issues and his struggles. He has to learn to handle his emotions more properly without acting like a child.!!!!!!

    It's simply not good for the game. It is a bad example of how to face adversity in the world. He is the leader of a group of young men, and every game he is teaching them to lose their temper when things go against them. My opinion is he is obviously a great coach, but that is true despite his on-court temper not because of it.

    Well given the cheap fouls they called on UConn, the treatment Sampson Johnson got, and it just got absurd. Solo Ball gets called a foul when a guys elbow hits him in the face? The over the back on Liam? If you watch the game, there are unquestionable biases by the refs for what Memphis got vs what UConn got. That makes the game dangerous and Hurley had every right.

Officials will make bad calls it happens but when you start getting the rep hes getting the refs are going to stick it to you. Its a fact, theyre human and will do so to send a message. When your behavior starts effecting your team on the court you are becoming a problem. Its hard enough to win without sabotaging yourself. Dan needs to chill out.
