Rankings don’t matter, especially not from 1 guy. But the logic of, “until they lose I’m not moving em” is really stupid honestly. Rank the team that’s the best today, not the team you thought might be the best and hasn’t lost yet. Never understood why voters are so stubborn with their preseason expectations
I got Kansas in my final four right now. Tennessee, Alabama, Auburn. Best 4 teams in country. But Auburn at Duke favors Duke. Wouldn’t be surprised if they beat them but Duke will win at free throw line. They will get the calls. History. Facts.
@michaellatham1971 the only kid on the team with an ego problem got humbled on a flight to houston. These dudes ain't proud. They're a bunch of seniors who are staying humble and striving to make history at Auburn. Trying to get a great coach a 2nd natty at the highest level. BP will not have trouble motivating them. Still a LOT of room for improvement, which is just flat-out scary.
so you don’t believe in using early (3-4 weeks into season) resumes as too much of a factor, but you’ll happily put a lot of weight into YOUR preseason rankings … make it make sense
“Yeah, Auburn is the best team in the country right now, but I’m not putting them #1 because somebody might do something better in December.” Ok chief.
You wouldn’t move Kansas off the number one spot if Auburn goes on the road and beats Duke? You just lost all credibility with me. All based on preseason, perception and bias? Whatever.
This is why I hate preseason rankings. There is no point in them, and they end up inaccurately effecting polling. In recruiting if one guy makes a big jump in the rankings, then obviously someone has to go down a spot. That doesn't mean that the guy that moved down a spot is any worse compared to previous ranking. It just means that the guy who moved up did MORE to move ahead. Should be the same logic with polling.
Auburn fan here. Duke probably beats Auburn at Duke. May be the best thing to happen to them for long term success. Winning at the indoor is as tough as the Jungle. This game is positive for Auburn either way on the resume. Duke is top 10 or higher. They will be a 1-5 seed. Quality opponent. Long. Best defensive metrics in the country.

@@AURush95 I would rank AU one. Preseason rankings are stupid. He picked them at 1 and wants to be Nostradamus. It will all play out. So I really don’t care one bit. It doesn’t affect me either way as the season will prove itself out.
Dude's an absolute clown if he doesn't move Kansas down if Auburn wins at Duke. That would mean Auburn has beaten both good teams that Kansas has (NC and Duke) while also having two better wins against Iowa State and Houston.

I mean it's pretty simple why voters are stubborn about moving teams unless they lose, it's because of their ego about being right lol
It's wild to hear people say, oh they definitely have the best resume, but since the other team hasn't lost I won't move them.
So this guy puts more weight on preseason rankings than real life results and eye test. How does this type of thinking exists in 2024
Keep Auburn 2, they need a chase... 🦅
I don't want that 1 seed headed to Cameron Indoor arena. Wait until after we run Duke
Amen. Losing at Duke may be a good thing. Kids egos pride limit upside
Auburn number 1 offensive metrics vs Duke #1 defensive metrics. Duke at home. Favors Duke.

You see auburn December. Schedule 🤣
It sounds like an excuse, any excuse, not to put Auburn at #1. Typical Auburn hate.
@@roberthall1818 At Duke. Also play Purdue and Ohio State on neutral courts. It’s pretty tough
If you can’t value a team on its body of work in the first 3 weeks, then why even have rankings to begin with?
This
auburn is doing well for being the 27th best team
Quit making excuses for Hurley's behavior

Based on what we did this week, I think we beat them in a close one.
Laughing out loud at Parish, talking about his three children and one woman.
He has Auburn #2 for rage clicks.
Let’s apologize for slandering Illinois, Brad Underwood, and Terrence Shannon before we do anything else, Gary
IOWA STATE ?
So, GP, now you're punishing Auburn for having a tougher schedule. Pathetic!
It doesn’t mean squat right now. Auburn probable underdog against Kansas on neutral court. His ranking is justified.
@@michaellatham1971 based on what? Name brand? “Probably favored” is the argument? Give me a single valid argument and I’ll concede
