- How to reset the service indicator on a 2014 Land Rover Freelander 2.

Both methods detailed below:
Freelander 2’s up to 2012 Model Year
-Insert the key into the ignition slot. Do not start the engine or press the break or clutch pedals.
-Press and hold the trip reset button.
-Press and hold the start/stop button to turn the ignition on, then within 10 seconds release the trip button.
-If the manual reset mode has been entered, ‘dlst’ or ‘DATE’ will be displayed in the odometer.
-To reset the ‘dlst’ light, press the trip reset button for at least 5 seconds, within 10 seconds of entering the reset mode. The display will show ‘RESET’ or ‘END’ if the reset was successful.
-To reset the ‘DATE’ light, press the trip reset button for at least 5 seconds, within 10 seconds of entering the reset mode. The display will show ‘RESET’ followed by ‘END’.
Freelander 2’s from 2012 Model Year Onwards
-Insert the key into the ignition slot, or in the car if you have the keyless option. Do not start the engine or press the break or clutch pedals.
-Press the ’OK’ button on the right side of the steering wheel controls to access the instrument cluster main menu.
-Operate the directional buttons to select the Service menu.
-Again, operate the directional buttons to select the last option on the menu.
-Press and hold the trip button on the end of the left stalk.
-Press and hold the ‘down’ directional button.
-Hold both buttons in for 10 seconds to reset the service indicator.
-Turn the ignition off, then back on again to check the Service indicator has been reset. If necessary, repeat the resetting procedure.
