Not really... They are pretty standard and what every media student learns to do in uni. Even Antiques Roadshow knows how to film that shit. Ten points if you can tell me what it's called.
I find most of them a lil overboard and it's kinda like using watercolours on a child's colouring book... Tries to hard to be "artistic" and kinda misses it... To the intros are a masterpiece is an actual insult to media... Kinda like saying a Levi Commercial is the best piece of cinema you've seen.

If you want a common household style solution, clean the brass with vinegar on a microfiber cloth. Then wipe it again with lemon juice and then a dry cloth without touching the brass with your bare hands. If you want to be fancy, you can wipe it with some mineral/lineseed oil after to prevent tarnish. Cleaning varnished brass is different than cleaning plain brass as well

First determine if it is lacquered or not.
If it is not tarnished at all, then simple soap and warm water will clean it.
Second determine if it is platted or solid brass. Put a magnet on it. If it falls off then it is solid brass and if it sticks then it is platted. Platted also only requires warm water and soap.
For solid brass DIY clean and polished
    Lemon and Baking Soda Polish
Combine the juice of half a lemon with a teaspoon of baking soda and stir until it becomes a paste. Apply the paste with a soft cloth. If the tarnish is heavy, let the piece sit with the paste on it for 30 minutes. Rinse with warm water and dry. Repeat if necessary.
    Lemon and Salt Polish
Slice a lemon in half and cover the cut section with a teaspoon of table salt. Rub the lemon on the tarnished piece, squeezing it as you go to release the lemon juice. Rinse with warm water and dry.
    Flour, Salt, and White Vinegar
Combine equal parts of all three ingredients to create a paste. Apply a thin layer of that paste to the tarnished brass and leave it for an hour before rinsing with warm water and drying.
Ketchup, Tomato Sauce, or Tomato Paste
When you wondered how to clean brass, you probably didn’t think ketchup would be involved, but-surprise-it is! Tomatoes contain an acid that helps to remove tarnish on brass and other metals; that’s why applying a tomato-based product can work wonders on your brass. Ketchup, tomato paste, and tomato sauce all work equally well. Apply a layer to your brass and leave it on for an hour. Then wash with warm water and dish soap. Let it dry.

Brasso is the product to clean brass. I used it to clean and polish all of my brass uniform accessories in the Army.

Chris, use a used bounce dryer sheet to clean the brass; works wonders. Used them on my uniform buttons.

You can clean brass by combining the juice of 1/2 a lemon with a teaspoon of baking soda to make a paste. Rub the paste on with a soft cloth. For heavy tarnish, let it sit for 1/2 an hour, then rinse with warm water.

Brasso to wash brass. You can find it at Canadian tire or any other hardware store (wondering if it's considered as non-essential...)

Hi, trumpet player here, to wash your brass you can use brass soap (found mine on amazon) and warm water to clean your brass puzzles.

Brasso is a brass polish, which will shine the puzzles up. But the acid in your hand oil will corrode them back to dull, so you are going to have to put a clear coat on them to keep them shiny.

Brasso can work for brass but can also cause some issues. The best thing for brass is to put on some gloves, scrub it with fine steel wool in a consistent pattern (so the scratch lines are directional and pretty) then use some wax to protect it. Brass tarnishes super easily from the oils on your hands. The wax should help protect it since applying lacquer or clear coat may ruin the actual puzzle
