  • I loved doing this restoration with and for my son. When I first found this frame at the Salt Lake Bicycle Collective I knew it would make for a perfect bike for my youngest son. It was a fun project to do together. This was also my first time trying brazing - I am a total novice and I am sure it showed but man was it fun. I want to do more.

Father and son build,I love it. What an awesome way to spend quality time together, and your kid gets a nice, well built bike as well. Finding interesting ways to spend time together is always a challenge,so if you can find a hobby that you both enjoy then it's a perfect way to spend time with your kid(s). You have fun and create good memories in the process of building things together, when you have grandchildren you can pass down the bike and make even more great memories as well. When you use quality parts to build things and keep them well maintained, they tend to last for a long time, then you get to use it to teach others a skill as well, all around good times.

I appreciate the way you guys work together I bet the young man will appreciate his father for teaching his son, of how it is done, the day the young man fully grown-up and become independent I'm pretty sure he will THANK his father for his knowledge and love his father for teaching his son giving knowledge, I know how it is and how important it is to have a father present to his son, I too had a father who thought me his knowledge as well before my father pass 2017 my father made victory meaning he accomplished everything he ever dream of before he passed and I am honor for his knowledge and wisdom he has giving me as well, Thank You for showing this video it just reminded me of my father and me working together the same way you guys did too!!.. I have to say between old and new upgrade on the bike it was cool to see a major deference on a bicycle upgrade it looks good congratulation!.

Bike technology has come so far since I rode bikes. In high school a buddy of mine use to build them for the local kids and I would help. There wasn’t any disc brakes, the most advanced thing on the bike was the derailer lol.

Really it was a very nice, pleasurable experience. I did it only by myself as I am single, it wasn't an upgrade as I liked my bike as it was when I was young so I " Renewed" colour, tyre and every little bolt, and I was really happy with the result. I am sure it will be far more pleasant when person share it with his son.

I remember an article years ago in a mountain biking magazine saying that it wasn’t worth fixing up older bikes, because new parts won’t fit them and you’ll never find older parts worth using. Shows you what they know, lol. You and your son did a great job, that Voodoo looks amazing, I’d bet even the people that originally built it would be impressed.

Outstanding rebuild! I long for a Cannondale M800 Beast of the East.I still have a 1994 Cannondale M400 that I sent to the shop for replacing the transmission and brakes. I like the way how you transform old chromo bikes into a pretty modern bike with disc brakes. Want to have something like this. As i do like how the chromo mtb bikes looks like, with all this thin tubes. Awesome thing!

Well done build! Joe Murray's geometry is some of the best I have ridden, especially back in " The Bicycle Group " days

I used to have candy red cromo wanga with sliding dropouts and detachable mounts for v brakes. Bought just a frame. Bike was stolen. My favourite bike so far. I'm keep looking for an exact fame to buy but without success.

I feel you. I’ve had a few stolen also. Not cool. Good luck on the hunt.
