I watched this, fired up the ol' PC, woke up photoshop, and a few hours later, I've got a photo like this now. VERY helpful tutorial, made me productive
been watching your stuff for a number of years. I just want to say - you set the standard for these photoshop tuts. the go to guy. really high quality all through, thank you so much.
while i watched this to learn the portal, i learned so so much in this video. i even downloaded it to rewatch it over and over. because this is pure gold education right here
I really like your tutorials. You have a Bob Ross type of sound to your voice that's calming and keeps me interested in the tut. Definitely going to work on this photoshop creation/skill next!
Amazing Nathaniel, excellent tutorial, several techniques in one. As always (because I've seen other tutorials of yours), very professional, and I hope you continue with that effort, or so nice to stimulate people in this wonderful application called Photoshop. Greetings from Venezuela
The front part of the forward shoe was past the portal and should've a little blue on the toe tip. The side was angled towards the portal would've had the pink glow. Just a thought! Nice vid!
Thank you so much I was able to create a really cool pic! Gonna use it in one of my how to lessons :) Had alot of fun following along. This is the first time I've used photoshop so i had to do alot of pausing and hunting for all the tools used but found them all eventually lol. i feel I have learned alot this last few hours, thanks again!
its good overall,, but instead of a shadow, there should be a reflection of that portal on the ground cuz its raining and floor is wet. just my opinion. great work..
I love this tutorial, although I have a question about the portal you made. Where is the other side? Normally portals (at least the ones that I've seen) are either opaque (like the ones from Rick and Morty) or show another location (like the ones from Portal and/or Doctor Strange), while this one just looks like it leads to nowhere different (to be fair it could be an alternate universe, but that's not exactly clear). A simple fix I found is to just add another image and apply the Vibrance layer mask to that image. The video is still great, it just doesn't make too much visual sense when I think of how portals usually work in media, and kinda looks like a person jumping through a glowing rectangular hula hoop.
It would be even better if you just flip the portal and make it in to the reflection instead of a blob of the light on the street. Of course some tweaking the blend will be required. It's wet and it would look very nice.
I had a thought towards the end; being a futuristic portal, it would look interesting to use a robot, or a creature entrancing the portal.., or part man, part machine??? Brilliant tutorial though!
Haha this is literally exactly like it!
Its an honor to be featured on one of your tutorials 🙏
Nice work mate!
